When opening Whatsapp, is possible to popup a window like the one on the image to verify the fingerprint (like private mode, paying with paypal etc.)? It can be done with Tasker but I don't know the name of that process (on the screenshot).

Hello, I need to hide sms messages from one contact. What is the best way? I prefer free app but you can post paid apps too.
Thank you very much.
Have root? Try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fahrbot.apps.security.firewall. if not try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.project.memoryerrorthree.

I know there's a modified MMS.apk in Slimbean that allows you to blacklist messages and calls from as many contacts as you want. I've seen it in a few other ROMS too. You can just flash one of those and not have an extra app. Or just extract the apk and move it to system.

I like root call blocker. It doesn't even make your screen blink
thank you guys, I'm with CM so I try to block contact via sms..
"Vault-Hide SMS, Pics & Videos"
Never used it for sms but works good for pics, I assume the sms is good too.

Try this...

It has no additional icon, you get into by dialing 1234 then dial on the keypad, and it's opens it let's you put anything from one contact there (sms, mms, calls) and you can only get into it by using the code. Also, the default code of 1234 can be changed, and the app doesn't require root. Also gosms has a private box built in to it.

trying Hide SMS (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.keepsafe.sms)
seems, it's simply app and it works fine.

I can +1 that. I use Vault daily and this is by far the best Android privacy app I've seen. It was just a SMS hider, but now hides photos and videos and even locks apps now!
Plus, its privacy is polished to the extent that if you press back from the app, it also disappears from recents menu

Shady SMS 3.0 PAYG
It may be the best, however, costs about 7 bucks but it's well worth it. The developer always updates and listens to his customers.
that's a built-in option with Handcent.
long press on conversation and select blacklist.

Is there a way to freeze apps that have disabled greyed out?
Shealth
Evernote
Samsung Hub and alot more for example.
Not without root.

There is an app you can install which will allow you to accomplish freezing an application. Check out the following link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ramdroid.appquarantine&hl=en
Hope this helps!
Thanks! But that requires root

Sorry, it's early and I cannot sleep. You are correct, this application requires a device root. To my knowledge, there is no way to freeze or remove an app which has the "disabled" button greyed out without rooting. Maybe someone with more informative knowledge can assist.
If you go to [Settings] > [General] tab > [Application manager] > [All] tab,
you will see all apps in your device. Press anyone. You will find a [Turn off] button which freeze that app.
Please note that some apps cannot be frozen without root. The [Turn off] button will be locked.
But if you rooted your device you can use other application manager apps available on Google Play store to freeze these system apps.
Here are a topic that list all apps that can be frozen
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470862
Can't be done without Root access. They're System-apps (even if they are completely pointless.) and thus without Root access you do not have access to modify them.
That said, I could and have disable S Health without root.
Evernote, My Magazine, Samsung Hubs and other such random nonsense I will never use, however....
Okay... Guess I have confirmed...
Sheath is disabled without root on my device too...

its just a typo i think.
lqrt meant S-Health.
It's this possible? It's pretty tiring to have to select from multiple browsers when I never use the default one.

In most of the file managers present on Google play. when we open a folder and then go back, list view is automatically scrolled to the position from where folder was opened. So either the scroll position or whole list view is saved. I want to ask how this can be implemented?

yes, there are a few ways to do it, probably the easiest is just storing the scroll position yourself, much info on SO about this if you google... also complex views like listView save their own bundles too iirc

I specifically tried EvoveSMS, ChompSMS, and GoSMS. I changed the default from Samsung Messaging to one of these.Clicking on the Messaging icon on the homepage launched Samsung messaging, which asked if I wanted to change default....NO...which proceeded to launch Samsung ANYWAYS. I forget what else I was doing, but Samsung was launched too when I wanted to message....
Are you using a custom launcher? If not pressing on messaging will always load the same thing. You have to click on the app you want to use. If using a custom launcher there should be a default setting in there somewhere.
Have tried both 3rd party and stock launchers....shouldn't changing default messaging peg have fixed the icon issue?

Are you trying to click on where it says "messaging" or the actual app you are trying to use for SMS? The messaging app is just that an app, not an app launcher/shortcut so selecting it will always open up Samsung SMS.

Both, the Samsung messaging asks if i want to change default app, regardless of what I choose, Samsung gets launched.....
Just go into the app you want to use and hide Samsung Messaging and you should be fine
