I got my I9505 yesterday and today i spent a couple minutes trying out the S Health app. I dont know if its me being a total noob but i set a PIN in the app settings and now when I try to access the app again it obviously asks me for a PIN, I put it in.....and.....nothing happens.
There is no option to click "ok" is there any workaround/reset?
Try clearing data in app settings

I have disabled Auto-Add Shortcuts in the Play Store settings but it seems to still keep adding them to my home screen every time I download an app. Have only noticed this behaviour since I started using 4.2. Thanks for your help.

I've also disabled this option on the play store but it's working fine on my phone. No shortcuts are added when I download an app

I just tried and it didn't auto add for me. May want to recheck it, reboot, and uncheck it again.

I know what you mean, until I learned it could be disabled it drove me crazy
Every time I go into Settings/Storage/Cached data and hit it to clear it I start getting this "No external storage" error when I go to Camera or gallery. Takes a reboot to get rid if it. Android 4.2.1 stock.
Anyone else can reproduce this too?

Are you doing this while the phone is plugged in?
No. Not plugged into anything. You cannot reproduce this?

Just tried it had about 250mb cache -> 1mb. Didn't get any pop up.

I just had this one a while ago. I had the phone charging from the power outlet. I unplugged it and after a while decided to try and take a picture. Launched the camera and got that message.
I then launched root explorer to see if it doesn't really see the external storage which wasn't the case as I was able to browse my files. A quick reboot cleared the error. I havent been able to replicate the issue so far.

I get this popup and upon clearing I consistently can get this error.

I believe its a bug of some sort for JB camera itself. I tried to clear cache again through settings. It the displays the same error. I launched task manager list and swiped the camera app out of the list. I relaunched camera and it ran fine. Better than rebooting the entire phone.
I use a third party app to clear my cache anyway and that doesn't seem to affect the camera.

What app do you use to clear cache?

If that was for me, then No. I have not changed anything to cache any different than what stock does. No changes. This is a bug it seems in JB. I flashed the Google images again to make sure it wasn't anything I had done.

Did you go to Storage, and clicked on 'Cached Data' to clear it? If that's what you did, then you will get this error next time you go to Gallery/Camera. If you want to clear cached data (and not see this error), remove the camera/Gallery apps from the 'Recent Apps' list BEFORE clearing cache.

What do you mean by 'recent apps' list? Where can i find it?

Recent apps refers to the app switcher or the (by default) right-most button in the navigation bar (with the icon of two boxes).
I am using both S-calendar and Google calendar: i like the homescreen widget for S-Calendar but I prefer using the Google Calendar app for managing appointments.
Considering that I do not want two notifications, I set notifications only in S-calendar with vibration and turned them off in Google calendar.
Problem is that every time i reboot the tablet, it resets the settings of both calendar apps: it removes vibration in S-calendar and enables notification in Google calendar.
Anyone else?
anyone?
Why you reboot your note?

Yea I had the same exact issue with mine. I realized that the 2 notifications in both apps are tied together. Meaning if you change one, it'll reset the other on reboot.
I wanted the notifications from S-cal and the googlecalendar app for management as well. I ended up disabling the S-Cal app entirely in the app management settings menu and instead using the google-cal app for everything. I dont think there is a way to separate the 2 apps.
If you find a way I'd like to know as well. Sorry I cant be more helpful.
This won't work on ICS builds, but if you have upgraded to JB 4.1 then in Settings - > Application Manager you can disable notifications on a per app basis.

yes this I know, my question was more: why upon restart the notification settings of both google and s calendar are set back to original values?
That I'm not sure. It shouldn't be resetting the setting on a reboot.

I'm trying a couple rooting options after the 7.4.1 update, and each time, I come to the part where I have to tap the "Restore my data" option on the kindle itself. No matter what I do, that button is unresponsive. I can tap on any other option, and they work, I just can't choose the option to restore.
Anybody got any ideas on how to get past that?
We've tried with and without entering any passwords as well.

First, try to disable every unessesary syncing in accounts and notifications in app settings especially Facebook app (uncheck show notif for this app)
Are you rooted?
If yes, install droidwall (firewall app), use the white list to enable the apps that you need to be connected only.
If no, try to uninstall every free apps that you are not using (free apps = ads = data usage in background) and/or disable the mobile data when you dont need it?

I have been using facebook for 2 years on my phones and it never cause a big background usage. Im not rooted. Thanks for the reply.
Please can somebody tell me how much Android OS usage is normal on mobile data ? I think I will do a factory reset but I am still not sure what's causing this...
Really odd. Mine has only used 13MB in several days. Are you using smart network switch?
In the data usage settings, when you tap an app, there will be an option to Restrict background data. Check that for unessesary apps.

Can you please clarify about how did you fixed it? Mine is getting overwhelmingly high about 3gb on wifi (which doesn't matter) but on mobile data plan it has consumed the whole 200mb package. Please advice!
