Note4, at least snapdragon version appears to use audience es705 for noise cancelation and hi def codecs for recording. From the looks of it though appears to use Qualcomm wcd9320 for sound. Not 100% sure on these. Was snooping around in root explorer and came across that trying to find my CPU bin which still eludes me. Anybody know where to find CPU bin?

Is there a thread on this? I haven't found it. Was looking for a lot of things. Was hoping for Wolfson but looks like wcd9320 which has proven to be good when tweaked well.
No thread, just knew that's where it was for other devices.

hi. i was wondering if there was a software to overclock the snap. i used the omapclock for the t-dash and it worked like a charm in that. but tried doing so in the snap and it doesnt really seem to affect it a lot. maybe i havent tried cranking it up but thats cause i am scared not to brick it and having to reboot it as a result.
any info would be appreciated. links to software would be highly appreciated!
many thanks,
Kunal

At 528MHz why would you even bother over clocking it? Your not going to see any real increase with 99% of the applications out there right now as most are designed with a 400MHz in mind. Anyway I dont think Qualcomm put a speed-step function in the chip, I know they didnt for the 400 so they probably didnt in this one either.
htc snap overclocking
hi. ya i know its not much useful but the problem is that the keyboard works slow. i have a tendency to type fast (used to it since the t dash then the blackberry). i tried the reg hack of increasing the cache and stuff (posted in one of the threads in the maple section only) but has little effect on the actual speed.
so was wondering if overclocking the processor would help (tried it in samsung blackjack II which i had before this and it helped to some extent).
am trying with omap but seems to cause some software problems in some programs so dont want to force it with that.
hence the search for another one which would solve the typing speed. otherwise i just love the phone.
thanks,
Kunal

Yea it's doable. I heard these processors can go up to 650+. I'm actually going to tweak out clkregim.dll to try to achieve some extra MHz. Might end up bricked... Lol.
overclocking snap
hey ookba
thanks a lot for your reply. was really getting worried. btw i had also posted this on the google smartphone groups and they referred me to nueClockControl 1.1 saying that this is an underclocking software but an updated one might allow overclocking else the company would be in the process of developing/might custom develop an overclocking software.
am trying with them, in the meantime if you are able to make a breakthrough with your attempt, then please please post what and how you did it in this thread including the software used. I am a little slow in these things so you just might have to bear with the thickness of my skull
thanks,
Kunal
No one got any updates on how to speed up the keyboard?
I know higher ghz doesnt mean better but just for fun.
Lets share some overclock experience here!
I am using tegrak, running 2 ghz now. Never experience rebooting yet! And done all the test bench.
Can you please give the detail here how to set the CUP o/c up to 2.0 mhz.... Thanks a lot!
here is my setting below..i am not professional! Comment is welcome!
Nice... Do you "feel" any difference in performance? Is it worth it?

Can you walk through how you did this? I'm new to overclocking, but understand the concept. I only show up to CPU 5 and I noticed the picture you posted shows up to CPU 7. When I go to CPU 0 to adjust it to 2000, tab just reboots. Not having any success in applying the changes you've shown. Are there any other settings you haven't shown that are necessary to make these changes?

Wow, its amazing how people will just go ahead and blindly do whatever someone else does without thinking anything through.
the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 is based on the old A9 cortex we know and love, and at 1.4ghz is already fast for the specifications it was originally designed for. I would think very carefully before just plugging right away with a 40% increase overclock on your very expensive and prized possession tablet. If you break it via crazy high frequency speeds, and Samsung engineers would have little trouble identifying the cause in a repair shop and your warranty will certainly be void.

wow, it's amazing how people just assume everyone else around them are idiots and are completely oblivious as to the detrimental effects this can cause to their tablet.
I know quite well the dangers of OC'ing a PC and Tablet.
Back to the OP. Can you explain how you've done this?

You say you are new to overclocking, then say you tried to directly apply 2ghz and the tablet "just rebooted". Forgive me for assuming you don't quite know what you are doing.
I'm calling shenanigans on this post... Those settings are just bollocks, unless the OP somehow managed to get their hands on a prototype 5 series Exynos, which CAN handle speeds like that...

I never claimed to know exactly what I am doing, which is why I asked for help explaining how it was done. I said I understand the concept and the detrimental effects OC'ing something can cause.
If you don't have something useful to contribute to the thread, don't waste yours or anyone elses time by posting.

Yup, I can imagine the CPU handling it for as long as it takes to reach unstable temperatures... 0.5-50 seconds. Not to mention the voltage i can imagine required to keep it stable at such a high frequency.

The useful thing I am contributing is trying to drill into people that just because you see someone else do silly things on a $600, doesnt mean that you should do them too.
Tablets are not desktop PC's, they are 100x more delicate and do not have close to the tolerances or tweakability that PC components enjoy, and the risk of breaking something is much greater. Going straight for 2ghz before testing stability at lower speeds (as you did, hence the reboots) is just careless, no two ways about it. However, feel free to go ahead, just don't complain here when all of a sudden it doesn't power on any more.
moving right along
colour me skeptical (of 2ghz)
I had been using System Tuner Pro when not using KT kennels, but is became outdated and was disconnected. It was rolled into a package of tools, but like Pro - it will not work with setting OC, so looking for other alternatives. When I use KT, its tweaker app is excellent - but does not always play well with other kernels.
There are a few CPU tools with a bunch of phoney 5 star ratings which should be avoided, as real reviewer comments indicate major issues. So are there any good ones that people here are using and can vouch for?
Andromizer?

Thanks - will give it a look. I again see many phony 5 star ratings (they are the ones with no comments), but some real positive ones as well as some bricks. Will stay away from all but the most basic settings (OC/UV, etc) in order to steer clear of issues that some have had problems with.
Update on Andromizer. So far, basic OC settings will not stick. Also, no profiles like max frequency on screen off, while on call, etc. Thought its Pro version might be needed to stick them, but not the case - took a refund on it.

I had tried SetCPU before System Tuner and it had issues also (a bit dated with respect to working with multicore). Just tried it and OC also does not stick. Oh well.
Again - looking for suggestions from posters on this device that are having good results.
Hi, I'm still thinking about whether to buy the SM-G900H or SM-G900F. Does anyone know if the H comes with Wolfson DAC for sure? And if it does, how likely is that a mode for it will be developed in order to improve sound quality? Because this is the main advantage of the H on the F so I want to know for sure. Thanks!
Anyone?
Yes, "H" has Wolfson Audio.

Do you think that a sound mode which improves the sound quality like voodoo sound is likely to be developed?
Because this is my main concern for not buying the F model.
Thanks in advance!

Yes,
I think so.
I have already boosted the sound and getting nice bass sound.
I had talked with many kernel developers to implement it but they are saying it is expensive device and we won't buy it nor we will develop it in near future.
I tried to build kernel myself but I am not used to it so taking long time to implement Wolfson Audio Driver.
Fed up reading code in github.

and the DAC of the F model is really that less good than the wolfson DAC? I mean the differences are that big? There is no development for the F's DAC?
Thanks!

I only know about "F" is that they don't use Wolfson Audio.
I have S4 Mini with Faux Audio but it doesn't sound that much cool.(It has Qualcomm).
Dac of the "F" model is great! Realy power full tone. F model has wcd 9320.

The WM5110 is in the same family of chips as the WM5102, you can probably just port over my sound controls from the i9500 with almost no changes at all.
https://github.com/AndreiLux/Perseu...ts/perseus/sound/soc/codecs/arizona-control.c
The initializer is probably the only thing needing to adapt (Apply same stuff to the wm5110.c file):
https://github.com/AndreiLux/Perseu...f3c3#diff-a6f84c15c77cd8a76a19195ad12ab34aR28
In any case the work is 95% done. The other 5% is just checking configuration values if the mixers have the same values and stuff like that, trivial.

Hmm
I could be a tester. :|
I have built a "boot.img" file from newly compiled zImage and modified initramfs (Insecured).
I have also included Wolfson Audio by Andreilux.
It is only for "H" Exynos.
I am afraid to test it.
Anybody want to be tester?
Hello!
I noticed that, when playing a game like marvel contest champion on the P7000, it runs a bit less smoothier than other devices and it lags sometimes, even with plenty of RAM and no other app opened on background.
I was wondering if there was a way to "fix" that and improve its gaming capabilities (i'm a phone n00b, but i read somewhere that you could actually tweak the GPU -settings- and improve its performance, if that makes any sense).
Can you guys help? i tried searching on the forum but found nothing that could be of any help. if i missed a thread, please give me a hand by pointing it out.
Thanks in advance.

@tool_king I had read of it before and it seems to fix the p6000 phones (AAL turned off) but the thing is I can't find that on my elephone p7000 . it has a lot of options but AAL is not there :/ maybe there's another name for it? (Tried googling it but couldn't find anything about it either)
