I bought recently a z1 compact from ebay and from my unknowledge that guy told me that the phone is locked on o2, but not hardly locked. I accessed that service menu where you can find that your attempts to unlock it by code but is says that i have 0 attempts left. My question is.... Can i do something with this phone to get it unlocked somehow? I tried to go to o2 stores and to call at a sony service center but with no luck. They need the owner's agreement. Thank you!

Not sure which menu you're referring to but if it's the one I think a 0 means it's already unlocked.
I forgot to mention that at network i have that X, [x] to be more specific. If anybody has an idea what can i do with this phone, just let me know. Thank you!
It sounds like if there is an [x] on network, and a zero at the end, you have no more attempts left. But have you actually tried putting in a SIM from another carrier yet? See what it says. If the person who sold you the phone lied to you, then you should consider registering a complaint or asking to return it.
My Z1C was from Sony (no carrier) so it came unlocked. Mine looks like this:

I think X indicates that there is a lock. What network are you actually on @BogdanBagdasar? O2 contract users can unlock for FREE
It's locked on o2 and a tried everything.... flashed a new firmware getting the same problem.... i tried to unlock bootloader. Nothing works. I went to O2 store and they told me that without the customer who bought this phone we can do nothing. I called at sony service center, they told me that they need approval from O2, but i don't have that guy.. And i am not a O2 customer. I tried also to switch the sim cards. with no luck. It says that I need the unlocking code which i bought 3 weeks ago and i haven't new that the phone i blocked. the reason of opening this post is: Can I do something with this phone to get it unlocked somehow through USB or anyway? Despite of whatever things I done by now.

Have you asked the person you bought it off to unlock it using the O2 process? The only way to unlock is by code, there are no tools here to do that unfortunately.

I can't meet him. I left him a message on ebay 2 weeks ago about this problem. He never responded. But I solved now the problem. Replaced mainboard. Thank you for all the advices.

I have been using this sim card for over 5 years already and today when i turn on my phone it no longer detects the sim card, so i tried putting another sim card and it works. Then i checked the sim card and it heavily scratched as i have been changing several phones already in the past, i asked my network operator but they say i have to pay them $20 to issue an new sim card. I think it too expensive, just wondering does anybody know a way that i can try to get my sim back to life? Thanks in advance.

I agreed with Ravi there is no other option available and if you are paying for your monthly recurring charges your charges will be deducted unless your not using the service so just purchase the new sim card.
Agreed, a new sim card is probably best. Theres surely a way they can port your number across etc.
As everybody else said, no way to fix this card..
I had the same problem and just took a new one and replaced it..
This is the only way to be 100% sure that the card will survive another 5 years
With my carrier "3" in Aus, I can just drop in to any 3 store and grab an empty sim, and make a call to customer support to activate it. Its all free. and I've done it a couple of times.
if you need to get the contacts or any other stored data off of it
you can clean it with a pink eraser...GENTLY...
if you have friends in the electronics industry they can get you a thin conductive tape for repairing traces in circuit boards its only good for a very short time too &&&& it must be cut into tiny pieces for each pad of the sim cards pattern
get your data off the darn thing anD GO GET A NEW sim card.
my wife's company sells similar cards to these they are worth about $1 each up to about $7 each fully programmed and printed in fancy colours etc... but bought by the box lot.
you want 1 and don't want the company to make any money on these?
they do have to pay
shipping, handling, duties, taxes, distribution, and the wages of the pimply faced teenager at the store to get it out and hand it to you (10 minutes)
all before they see any profit from your transaction...oops forgot the Visa/interact fee's (3%-ish)
im not complaining its just that $20 doesn't go very far these days
there is frugal and then there is frugal.. this is neither
you can buy a magic simcard and clone that simcard to the new one. they sell them at dealextreme.com for like $6. i dunno if its legal or not where you live.
^dont try this with multiple devices at the same time though. your carrier will track you down.
this one should work:

i have been getting https://4gdaypass.sprint.com since i can remember. when i connect to 4g service, get an IP, and then try to get to the internet such as espn.com. once i type espn.com in the browser, i am redirected to the 4gdaypass screen to sign up for 4g service even though i have the service as part of my account.
after chatting w/a sprint rep for 1 hr and doing ##3282# and doing a restore, then updating profile and prl (which i had done many times before chatting w/them); i was instructed to call 1-888-211-4727 for technical support. i do so, and the CS tries to blow smoke tell me there is an outage. i firmly explain that i have another evo that is currently connected to 4g and is able to connect to espn.com w/o getting the 4gdaypass screen. i firmly tell him again my issue and he decided to change his demeanor and help me. finally he directed me to call 8886496711 for the 4g day pass support.
talked to a new gentleman there that new exactly what i was getting and why, but he couldnt do anything about it and had to get me over to another group. this guy says that even though I connect to 4g and get an ip, 4g is missing from my account and that this other group needs to add the service.
talked to 8882114727 opt 2, 4, 4, 2 (back to orginal tech support) and was placed on hold for at least 15min (maybe more) while they researched. this lady tells me again there is an outage and that is why i am getting the 4gdaypass screen. again, i told her that i understand there is an outage, but my issue has been going on since i can remember. i asked her if i had all the needed option on my phone number to connect me to 4g because the previous guy said that i am missing something with 4g. she said everything is there to connect to 4g. she got me to a manager w/o me asking. was on hold for another 15min or more to talk with a manager.
talked to an escalation manager and he had no idea what i was talking about and refused to open a trouble ticket. he did however give me advanced tech support number of 8777358405.
i contacted advanced support 8777358405 and the lady i talked to knew exactly what i was talking about and agreed with me that it had nothing to do with the outage, but with the phone itself. she put in a trouble ticket explaining the issue and adviced me to take my phone to the store to see if they can authorize a advanced exchange. i also found out to always get the insurance for the phone because if you dont, and you take your phone into the store for service, the store will charge you $35 just to look at the phone.
so, i have a paper to right this afternoon and class tomorrow, so i will take my phone into the store sat and see what they say.

this is a 3g phone
I am aware, but its just a possibility. The only other conclusions I can come up with is a technical glitch, or a co-worker prank.
even if you reboot the phone? Looks like something went haywire? Or someone who really knows their **** is playing a prank on you

No one has touched my phone except me. I went to a local fairgrounds had questionable service and it popped up. been there since i got home, restarting the phone now lets see what it says.
Gone after a reboot, just strange...
usually reboot is required when your phone loses signal then has trouble reconnecting to the network.
It has happened numerous times on other android devices I have used and usually when I leave the coverage area and either the phone or the android system has trouble refreshing the network status.
I am surprised you didn't reboot it before you posted on here

I rebooted it when I was still at the fairgrounds with the touchy signal, still had it, wanted it to stay when i got home to post the screen shot since i need to have it plugged in to get a screenshot from the phone.
and the phone still worked 100% so it didnt bother me. was just odd... makes me wonder that when the R800x is finally rooted if it will become a world phone.
The GSM and CDMA varients share a common software foundation which has historically been focused on GSM devices. It doesn't surprise me that your software glitched and displayed the screen. If you see this again, please send me a PM so I can have SE engineers take a look at it.

^This!
Also there are still a few diagnostic menus that feature the ability to turn on and off the GSM radio, which would check for the SIM slot to be populated. Now, if the GSM radio is actually still there on top of having the CDMA radio, that would be awesome, but I'm not expecting that, and believe that it is probably a software glitch arising from a similar foundation of code.
For some reason the wifi on my phone is acting strangely, it just started doing so a few days ago but before that it was all fine. Basically what is happening is that my wifi will be really slow to the point of not connecting to websites (Connection timed out etc.) however the wifi starts to work if I turn it off and then back on, but then stops. I really don't want to be doing that every 5 seconds. It used to be fine and then suddenly it started being weird. So basically my phone is quite useless now since I use my phone for everything (I log into my google account with my phone, I need to use the steam app on my phone and other important stuff). The wifi on all my other devices is fine like usual. Bluetooth also says that the bluetooth address is unavailable but I don't use bluetooth so it doesn't affect me but I think it's also to do with my problem.
Currently using Sokkoban's Deodexed ROM.
What I've tried doing:
Removed PurePerformancesX.
Cleared Cache.
Reflashed the ROM.
Flashed to the Official Lollipop update.
Flashed to the Official Marshmallow update.
Rebooted my router.
Reset my router.
Anything else to do?

I've heard about this, it seems it's a common problem among P8 lite users.

It sounds like it could be a faulty wireless card in the phone or the drivers bugged out. Blimin' shame that your warranty is void cause I am pretty sure they would have to fix that for you.
I actually had a very similar thing happen to my old iPhone 4s, wireless just completely died in the end. No regrets about that though, it brought me to android.
Really though, sorry to see you are having trouble with this and I really hope someone here can help you more.

I decided to remove the back cover of my phone to see what the problem could be, but then my screwdriver was too big to open any further. I still don't know where the WiFi + BT antennas are. And since TalkTalk are cool, they said that my warranty lasts as long as I carry on paying my contracts, which is good. However since I'm just out of the 28 day return window I'll need to give them a call so that Carphone Warehouse can repair it for me for free.
