thats depend on room itself
most of roms support S-pen ( i dont know if CM support or not cuz my note 3 is Exynos)
may be you should ask in CM threat for Note 3 LTE

Thanks @Saif96,
I was expecting that since the whole idea of the Note series is using the s-pen

Iinstalled CM11 UnofficialbyTesmarek. And no. There is absolutely no support.Because it all needs the Samsung based touchwiz framework....
The pen works absolutely fine. But all samsung based features are missing....You need Samsung based Custom Roms.
Try Echoe Rom (iwill try this next) it looks close to the X-Note Rom which is dead on XDA but search for nonsolosmartphone and X-Note build 20...
there you go http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2439633

[Q] AOSP Vs Custom Roms

Hi Guys,
I recently rooted my note 3 SM-N9005 version 4.4.2 with kernel 3.4.0-1703205 and got a few questions which I hope you guys can help me with.
1) By installing AOSP or Custom Roms, will Knox be tripped by default? If yes, are there ways to avoid this for different AOSP or Customs Roms?
2) After installing either AOSP or Custom Roms, can I still install launchers on top of it? Will there be any problems running both simultaneously?
3) Do I need to restore back all the bloatware and back it up as original before proceeding to install either AOSP or Custom Roms or I can just proceed to install?
4) What is the main difference between AOSP & Custom Roms other then size differences? Which is better for note 3 in an overall view?
5) Currently which of the AOSP or Custom Roms are tops or best for note 3, should I'm looking more into performance of my device? ( batt life, speed etc. )
Cheers and Thanks in advance!!!
1. Yes, as you have the N9005.
2. You can install launchers on stock ROM
3. No
4. In this case, AOSP will be a custom ROM as well as it is not stock. If you mean what's the difference between AOSP and TW, it means you get the stock Google experience and lose all of Samsung's bloat and some useful features such as S Note and the S Pen apps (S Pen still works but not Screen Write or Action Memo).
5. AOSP imo - C-RoM. Note 3 TW - X-Note. Note 3 and S5 - S5 port by fahadali.

Hi Nicholaschum,
Thanks for the reply & clarification.

CM ROM + TouchWiz Samsung apps = possible?

As it looks like no Marshmallow 6.0.x ports for Note3 are coming, it's time to move to CM ROMs.
However, I'm a frequent user and actually like many of the Samsung (TouchWiz based) apps:
1. Samsung camera - with HDR that actually works (and does double exposure)
2. S Health, S Note, S Planner, etc.
For me, the CM equivalents are not quite what I'm after (or in some cases do not exist at all).
So, is it possible to install a Cyanogenmod (say CM13) based ROM on Note3 (N9005 hlte) and then somehow install Samsung apps like the above (Samsung camera, S Note, S health, etc) into the ROM and actually have the function properly?
If yes, then what libs/patches/additions are needed?
Or, is the best one can hope for to install some of the TW 5.1.1 ROMs and then add the Samsung TW apps as needed?
No, those apps can't be used outside of touchwiz roms. You should have a look at this thread though http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/general/touchwiz-6-0-1-mm-successfully-ported-t3336469
@Sjant
Thank you! I will wait for the 6.0.1 Note 5 DarkLord port. :good:

stable Android 6.0.1 Rom?

Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N9005) and I am looking for a good Rom.
Since I am new to Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Modding I have no idea which Rom fits my expectations:
Android 6.0.1
Samsung Launcher/Theme (like on Note 4 with Android 6)
stable/fast/efficient
minimum of bugs
everything works which is not hardware limited (!S-Pen support!)
I already found out that NFC is often not supported. Thats no problem.
Can someone recommend me a Rom?
They are all posted here .

Im abit confused and hoping someone can help out.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N9005) and have always used the hlte CM12.1 nightly's - Are these the 'official' CM roms ? And the other custom roms in the development forum, are variants of the hlte but with their own themes or features?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...-3/development
Like the user above, I just want a 'stock' CM rom but with the best battery life and as few bugs. I dont even care for the S Pen. Its a minefield, I'm hoping someone could please explain
Also the last nightly was from hlte was on 2016-07-10, does that mean no more updates? If so, how could I apply updated android security patches?

Is there any plan to port miui 8 for our s7?

Hello guys...
Im just wondering if we're going to have amiui rom or not as the devs managed to port custom roms like aosp an LineageOS
Another question is why can we make miui rom based on stock tw as i see many phones got the rom based on tw like note 3' 4 '5 and s4' 5' 6.
last attempt was for note4

Good evening how are you
Please, can you give me a link where I could download the rom oréo 8 or pie 9.0 with the Spen that works? I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005.
Good late afternoon.
Repeat repeat .
There are none as you have already been told multiple times.
SPen is Samsung and requires Samsung firmware/ rom .
Our good friend Eleo explains .
Spen features will NEVER work on AOSP/LOS ROMs (as other phone-brand based original features do) out of the box.
If you want to have spen features for free, flash samsung stock firmware or any custom TW ROM.
