Well... l have Tmobile N4. Rooted and cleaned most of bloatware.
During cleaning /sys/app and /sys/priv-app l removed app that controls "Smart Select" function of S-pen quick menu.
Other three functions work fine as all other s-pen features. Only issue is smart select. It gives error no application found to handle this action. Luckilly I have back up of all removed apps.
Need input / help to which app controls the missing S-pen feature so I can restore it.
I really appreciate all your suggestions in advance.

Hello,
I have the same exact problem, did you manage to solve it? Or anyone?
Cheers.

Hey guys im experiencing the same issue. Im over on the ATT note 4 i came across this thread via google search. They just brought over the batch file that disables knox and OTA updates with the script, and everything has been successfully disabled but now my smart select is getting the same error.
Ive been looking through the packages that were disabled but i cant seem to pinpoint which one handles smart select. Any ideas would help.
Im looking in to it! Thanks!
Try restore Scrapbook, at least its worked for me.
I'm having the same problem. I can't find scrapbook to try and install that and I have no idea what it could be. Did anyone find a solution? I don't think I have a backup of scrapbook if that's the problem.

The link I found on page 34 of the thread you told me to check out says "file has expired and does not exist any more on this sever." Am I looking at the right one? Any other ideas where to get scrapbook? I'm not 100% sure that's what I need, but everything I've read so far says that's probably it. Thanks for the help man!
I ran into the same problem and found the solution--I had disabled the Samsung "Pinboard" app using a debloating tool. Simply reenable "Pinboard" and you'll have your Scrapbook app back, along with the s-pen "Smart Select" functionality.
:fingers-crossed:
This and scrapbook are needed. At the very least. I didn't find any pinboard.
could someone please upload the note 4 scrpbook please. i tried scrpbook from other device. it does the same thing but it just won't let me save the items.

Appears that the update caused the Favorite Contact Widget to disappear although the app is still listed in Application Manager. How do we get it back??
It seems like that many people have the same issue. You can download the apk file and install it - then you will have them back listed in the Widgets list.
Tested and worked for me on my I9505

Did you ever get any solution figured out? I've got the same problem going on with the Verizon version.
Hi Guys, had this very same issue. I am not sure my symptoms match your's, but here's mine. Basically air command, double tapping on the screen does not fire up the Action Memo app, which is supposed to in a normally functioning device.
First of all make sure you don't delete/free ALL your action memo instances in Titanium Backup. There's quite a few, so make sure they are not frozen.
Second, check to see if you have the xposed framework installed. If it is installed, un-install it and reboot. See if action memo works via Air command.
If Action Memo works after that, you can reinstall xposed framework. This is how I got mine working again. Hope it helps

Man I wish I could be giving you a positive confirmation that it works... But it doesn't. I uninstalled xposed & all modules, confirmed all 3 action memo files aren't frozen or disabled and rebooted several times. Still no action memo in any form (air command, lock screen or app). I'm so frustrated over this one stupid thing it's ridiculous.
Only thing left for me to try is to move my titanium backup off device and go to stock and back.

Samsung replaced Action Memo with S Note. Old memos are stored as jpg in a device folder, actionmemo. They can be viewed and deleted but not modified.

Yes, I had to go to stock - it turned out that I had deleted (not frozen) one of the associated apps with Action memo. When I went back to stock it worked right away.

I'd suggest going back to a stock base and not touching any apps surrounding action memo - and unless you're positive it's not associated with action menu, leave it. Then try freezing the ones you're questionable about one by one and see which can be safely removed and still let action memo still function. Best suggestion there amigo! :good:

Action memo will not open a new note no matter the route I take. Via Air Command nothing happens when I select action memo and when I open the action memo app from the app drawer clicking "create" does nothing.
I am rooted and have xposed framework installed. I have a couple modules but have disabled them all and rebooted - still nothing. I have cleared app data on all 3 instances of "Action Memo" and tried freezing & defrosting them in all combinations to see if one was causing a problem but nothing changed.
At this point I've given up and am about to defrost all my frozen bloatware and see if that changes anything. I am doubtful as I've inspected each thing and nothing seems to have any connection.
My doubts were confirmed - no frozen / disabled apps left and still no action memo. Tried wiping cache in recovery before and after defrosting all frozen apps. I am at a loss.
Anybody have a clue what is causing this?
***SOLUTION FOUND***
It turns out there should be 4 instances of the app called "Action Memo" when looking at a list of apps, like the list in Titanium Backup. I must have deleted one because when I was having trouble I only had 3. By going to stock and re-rooting my device was wiped and the stock apps were returned. I have all four instances back and everything is working properly. What a boneheaded mistake of mine it was to delete one of them...I really don't remember doing that at any point but I guess I must have. Oops

Have to tried clearing the cache through the stock recovery? I have 90 apps removed and the Action Memo works fine for me.

Final bump I will subject you all to. If no one has any suggestions I will just have to flash stock, re root & hope for the best. I'm sure that will fix it but trying to avoid it I guess.

I'm not exactly sure where I read it but it was definitely in the Verizon Note 3 Q&A section somewhere. Someone else had this issue and it turned out being a specific something that they had froze. I can't remember exactly what it was but if u look hard enough through the thread u should find it. Sorry I can't help more.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've defrosted all apps as my op description says. I realize there is no logical solution, obviously I've got a pretty unique error here. I'm fairly confident reflashing is my only recourse, but I appreciate your time in responding.

Recently got a Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Tried to go into Device tab>Call Settings and when I click anything under that menu, nothing happens. Anything with a check box can be altered but anything that requires me going another level down (ex. Call rejection, call alerts, call accessories, etc.) will not allow me to further progress. I'm wondering if it may be tied to a default bloatware app I could have deleted. If anyone has any information on what the problem may be or what app may be responsible, it would greatly help so I can correct the problem. Or if anyone else has encountered this issue...
Just figured this out with a little trial and error. Was the "ActivityForceNewTask" module in Xposed Installer. Disabled and settings are working fine now.

thanks a ton. U r a life saver. Was beginning to tear my hair out in frustration trying to figure out how to get my call settings sub menus back. Your suggestion did the trick.
Hello everyone.
I've been having issues syncing stuff from the scrapbook app. It ALWAYS fails to sync.
I've tried removing and re-adding the Samsung Account, clearing the data for the scrapbook app and related services (smart clip provider, smart clip service, rakein, scrapbook), but whatever I do, it NEVER works.
Has anyone experienced this issue and / or been able to solve it?
N9005 32GB. Stock rooted (towelroot, knox 0x0). I haven't removed any bloatware, I only froze all the preloaded games and ChatOn.
Android 4.4.2. N9005VJUEND1, ZTO Sales Code.
Bump?

I did experience like that earlier.
but it has gone.
What you need to do is to run scrapbook app, and to press confirm button on popup window.
after that you will be able to sync.

there's really no need any special stuff / steps.
the scrap sync won't run if the app has never been opened since the installation day.
what you need is just to run the app.
once you open the app for 1st time, it will ask you whether to sync or not. at this point you just need to press confirm.
after that it will be able to sync alrd.

Thanks for the help, I appreciate the effort.
I wonder if anyone had this issue and was able to fix it? If so, it'd be great if they shared the knowledge.
