I really hope this would be officially available in our country.
Model: XT1100 is the one to lookout for.
Cheers!
Looking forward to it as well. Btw did Lenovo already closed the deal with Motorola Mobility? Coz if they did, at least Lenovo Mobile PH can bring this officially to PH..

Looking forward to this!
hoping to get this sooner.. one of the best LCD Displays i want.. an AMOLED..
Lenovo hasn't closed the deal yet, this phone was one of the last (apparently) projects of Motorola and Google. Kimstore can give you pretty much of a bargain (I am by no means plugging them here lol)
EDIT: So since I'm a Sun Cellular user, I'd be using the International one when it hits our shores, right?
Yes the international one should be good. I hope meron official support sa PH like Nexus 4 did
Hopefully there's official support since I haven't seen a single Motorola shop here in the Metro.
I just wanna be able to buy it at least from Google Playstore this time around.
So its official, Lenovo now owns Motorola, hopefully they can bring Nexus 6 to the PH, ASAP!

Probably Late-December (hopefully) or Q1 2015.
-----------
Really excited to pick up the Nexus 6 when I migrate to the US. Google/Motorola just futureproofed the phone.

Lenovo owning moto now has no effect on the Nexus 6...Lenovo had nothing to do with the product development or release. The nexus is all google and moto. Probably won't be seeing moto lenovo products till mid next year.

Me too. Howdy!
Hey thephantom and stankyou! Nice to see you guys again haha! Planning to buy this beast? Couldn't wait, bought the N5 already. ? I'll just buy the N6 again and sell the N5 haha. Cheers!
Wifey wants to have my N5 so I am "allowed" to upgrade. LOL. Bought my Nexus 5 from Kimstore so might end up buying this there. Price point is a bit steep. I am expecting this at around 35K from online shops so I might wait for a couple more months .
EDIT: And its still not available in locally through Playstore.

Do we have any online shops that offer the exynos version in Europe?
No mention of it in any of the big online shops. Reports at release stated that it would come delayed compared to the 9505.
I just got three replies from Expansys, Clove, Handtec, and all said they will not have the Exynos version, at least not for now.
You wont get the exynos version in countries where it is not scheduled. Try amazon spain (amazon.es).

Samsung has not yet released any info regarding which countries will get the i9500; we only have a leaked table from Sammobile to go on.
TBH I was a bit pi%%ed at not having the i9500 in the UK, but the other one also kicks ass.
For me its not so bad as I buy new one each year, the fact is I will just get get the phone/find a rom/set everything up just right and then new model will start to show next year lol
I think this is a bigger problem for anyone who keeps the phone for more than a year, to them it will be a worse situation, as it is I dont think the phone will be pushed to its limit before the next version comes out, game companies aim for the average phone and let you tweak little bits if you have a better phone (just like pc games)
I do remember reading something that Samsung have big things due 2014, all hush hush, some guy had been in meetings/or something (I forget) and basically said 2014 is the year Samsung will make big changes, and we will be shocked....but thats all he said.
Expansys US have I9500. I sent a message (via chat) and they said that they are selling the Latin American exynos version.

Well, Korean version seems to have some limitations.
Expansys US says that their exynos is unlocked. I don't know more, im waiting a reply from my friend that pre-ordered it on Expansys US 4 days ago. He will receive it in first week of may. If it is for real the exynos one, i will buy it from that site because in Europe samsung still doesn't want to release the exynos version.

I checked on Expansys website but can't find the OCTA version. Can you give me a link please ?

No, they said to me that I9500 doesn't have LTE, they just wrote a mistake. Infact at the end they wrote also depending on market.

(07:07:47) Alberto: Someone says that LTE for Exynos is only reserved to korea, is this true? Or the latin american version is like the korean one?

(07:09:14) [email protected]: It's not Korean
(07:10:27) Alberto: Ok thank you very much.

I'm going to check myself too and I will call Sammy to ask about warranty if I will buy it from there. Just in case. I will let you informed. Thanks

That's what I'm worried about too. Also, right now almost no seller knows what they will got and when the Octa version will be available. I remember myself searching on Internet and getting results even on this forum on warranty issues in USA with Galaxy S3 bought in Europe. If we get it from USA I don't think we would've warranty in Europe but Usa only. I'm gonna call Monday to Samsung. I'm refuse to buy S4 other than Exynos version

Hello!
Dose anybody know if there's a different specs between the US & European version of the Nexus 7 LTE?
I mean that in fact the frequencies between the versions are different, but that's require that the LTE chip should be also different or it's all matter of baseband & software?
Thanks

You *do* realize the irony in the fact that you could have Googled this fact about a Google tablet in less time than it took to type in that request, right?
Anyway...
Network
North America:
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
HSPA+: 850/900/1900/2100/AWS (1700/2100) MHz (Bands: 1/2/4/5/8)
LTE: 700/850/1700/1800/1900/2100 MHZ (Bands: 1/2/3/4/5/13/17)
Europe:
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
HSPA+: 850/900/1900/2100/AWS (1700/2100) MHz (Bands: 1/2/4/5/8)
LTE: 800/850/1700/1800/1900/2100/2600 MHz (Bands: 1/2/3/4/5/7/20)
And that's about it for differences.

Well, you missed that the OP is aware of that.
He is pondering about a more interesting question - if that needs a different hardware or just flashing a different radio rom.

Point taken - sorry, but I've seen the frequency question come up so many times that I'm answering on reflex.
Apparently the WWAN chip is the Qualcomm WRT1605L which supports 7 LTE bands. It's capable of handling almost any kind of cell protocol and band - but they have to choose the seven LTE bands they'll support. I don't know (and can't find) and spec for the chip or the Gobi chipset (Snapdragon) that it's a part of. Typically, the OEM requests the chips with the bands they want selected - but looking though the OEMs for the chip, they don't seem to have a process to define it at purchase time. Mind you, this could simply mean they expect to walk the OEM through the process after purchase before delivery.
To the best of my knowledge, the Euro and NA models both use the same chip and there's no differentiation on the model number cited anywhere (but that could easily be because no one's opened both of them up and looked).
So - is it possible that you could reconfigure the WRT1605L to make it see a set of LTE bands you want? It's possible. Unfortunately, without specs or a tech document from Qualcomm, it'll be difficult to tell - and I don't think Google actually posts the source for the radio ROM code, so no way to just read the code and see if they have band switching code in there.
If you want to dig, though - here's a starting point:
https://developer.qualcomm.com/mobi...es/3g4g-connectivity-gobi/tools-and-resources
The WRT1605L is part of the Gobi platform AFAIK.
As for flashing the Euro radio ROM turning on those freqs on the NA model? Welllll.. that's easy enough to test, no?
Versions are different
I think there are six versions that one could order from ASUS:
Google Nexus 7 FHD LTE NA 2013 ME571KL 16GB (Asus Razor)
Google Nexus 7 FHD LTE EU 2013 ME571KL 32GB (Asus Razor)
Google Nexus 7 FHD LTE NA 2013 ME571KL 16GB (Asus Razor)
Google Nexus 7 FHD LTE EU 2013 ME571KL 32GB (Asus Razor)
Google Nexus 7 FHD 2013 ME571K 32GB (Asus Razor)
Google Nexus 7 FHD 2013 ME571K 16GB (Asus Razor)
So Memory 16/32
LTE 13+17 (US VZ-ATT) or 7/20 (EverUwhere else)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nexus_7_(2013_version)#Model_variants
http://pdadb.net/ makes a abit of listing these things.
Ok, looks like it may be a software thing, though possibly it may have different antennae/circuits. You can forget looking for any official information, it was always confidential. But I doubt the Qualcomm engineers are idiots and allow anybody to change the radio frequencies The system will only accept a signed image, check some efuse or something like that. Theoretically, both radio images may have same signatures, that would be the first thing to check. That brings another bunch of questions:
How does actually the nexus7-2 boot process work?
I'm still a bloody fresh n7-II owner, is there anything known about it? I couldn't found so far anything useful (I guess it should be similar to Nexus4).
Would it hard-brick the device if you erase the radio partition / the boot-loader partition?
I know exactly how it worked in ADP1 - the answer was yes / no, but that's a long time ago.
The boot-loader image seems to have a linux kernel inside and interestingly enough, some driver is sending like a mad (after every suspend) the radio firmware over to the radio chip. Let's dig deeper ...

The RF filters are probably what's different, meaning you wouldn't be able to tune in to unsupported frequencies even if the baseband allowed it.

Yeah, Qualcomm is very protective of their technotes and data sheets. Usually their resellers will hand them out - but even they don't make them available. BTW, Ironically - your Nexus 4 has the same chip in it.

Very likely. I didn't see different RF filter chips mentioned in the stuff I was reading, but building a generic tunable filter over that wide a range would be difficult.

Well two of those are the WiFi only models which may not even have the LTE chip in it (it's a relatively expensive chip, so it wouldn't surprise me that they don't populate the board for the non-LTE models).
The other four are most likely all the same LTE chipset with (as you note) different bands selected.

The Nexus devices are supposed to be completely resettable to factory state. I had assumed that included the radio partition... Same with the boot-loader? There isn't an inerasable diagnostic boot?
(I may be assuming too much here in that to me 'bricked' means 'dead and cannot be revived')
Bit more info. The QMI API documentation from Qualcomm in the DMS document includes a call to get a bit list of the LTE bands supported on the chip, but no way to set them. Also, there's a chip authentication/unlock that has to be done before most feature setting can be done. There is a service code feature that might let it happen.
So a vague 'no obvious way' result.
38 frequencies
7 frequencies may not cut it;

Pity as I would buy a 7 2 4g from the US in the morning if I thought it could work in europe in the future.

For Europe you need bands 20 (800Mhz), 3 (1800Mhz), 7 (2600Mhz) and starting from 2016 the 700Mhz band that will be allocated to carriers (should be either band 17 or 28 )
If you want true worldwide LTE roaming you at least need bands 1, 3, 7 and 17. No commercialized LTE device officially supports all these frequencies at once. Though the closest thing would be the International Nexus 7 which supports all these bands except band 17, so it could roam anywhere except in the USA
The U.S. Nexus 7 would feature the best USA coverage to date as it supports band 17 along with AWS.

Is it possible to tell apart a Nexus 7 LTE US unit and an EU unit?
As in, I'd like if there is any indication on tablet itself?
(either when it's powered on, by an info page or some sort; or off - a label, SKU number, or by serial number)?
Also, is there any indication on outside of the box, if the unit is sealed?
Thanks.
That's an interesting question...When you buy it through the play store...can you choose which version do you want? Because I am from Spain and I am sudying for a year in the USA and the model I would like to choose has to be able to work with european LTE bands...

You can't choose when buying from the Play Store. If you buy it from the US Play Store, you will receive a US model; and if you buy it from the Spain Play Store, you will receive an EU version.
Needing to be able to tell them apart probably only matters if you're buying it used, or through a parallel importer if isn't officially offered for sale in your country yet.

There is no 'issue'. There are 2 SKUs. If you buy from the US, you will receive a US version. If you want an EU version, you need to buy it from the EU (or actually, anywhere else in the world, except US and Japan).
Sorry.
By issue I meant that if it's a hardware or software thing...There's no way to change it?
I have read this thread a few times and still confused on it. Im not familair with the nexus 7 at all. But Im just wandering if I was to buy a NA 32gb LTE version Nexus 7. WIll it work in Europe area. Mainly Italy.
the 2nd generation nexus 7 has been officially launched in India on the playstore since about 5am tonight.

Which provider? Airtel has LTE dongles available in a few cities but that's a dongle.
Afaik Reliance, Videocon and Aircel have plans and they might eventually roll out these services in the next couple of years but none of it (excluding Videocon) is supported by N7 or any other LTE phone currently available here with the exception of iPhone 5S and 5C because they use different bands.
Videocon on the other hand will use the widespread FD-LTE which the N7 supports, so Videocon is your only option.
Check the bands. LTE in India is TD-LTE not so in Europe and US or rest of the world.

every dongle has a SIM card inside it, n thts wht u need.
go to any service provider's showroom, almost all of them hav tailor made data plans for non-calling tablets.
and the manager at my local "airtel gallery" himself told me that airtel will launch 4g services in whole of maharashtra by jan2014 end.
I should say I was talking about lte as a whole (Volte, csfb..) earlier.
Even then, Airtel and everyone else with the exception of Videocon uses TD-LTE (different freq and band, 2300mhz and 38/40 iirc) which the N7 does not support.
Off topic but I want to ask something.
I want to buy Nexus 7 tablet for my wife and kid daughter (3 years old, she play games). But I am kind of confused right now.
I know there is considerable difference between Nexus 7 2012 and 2013. But there is also huge difference in prices too.
Nexus 7 (2013) 32GB is selling for 24,000 Rs on Play store. And
Nexus 7 (2012) 32GB is selling for 10,800 Rs on Flipkart (with 10% discount).
So I am totally confused among these two. Is 2013 version really that much better to justify that much price difference, more then double.
Can someone suggest. Thanks
^^
You could buy it from Amazon if you want for 16.8k + duty which will come to about 21k i guess.

Flipkart is selling it now for same prices as Google Play. It also comes with warranty of course.
So we might also buy new Nexus 7 32GB at 22k with 10% cashback on Flipkart.
I bought Nexus 7 2012 in Feb and it was nice tablet. We usually watched videos, internet surf and play fruit ninja or angry birds, kind of stuff. Then I gave this tablet to my niece. And I was waiting for new Nexus 7 but release price is kind of steep and since Nexus 7 2012 is available for a lot cheaper, I am not able to decide.
Will buying 2013 version wiser considering we can get 2012 at half price?
I think that depends on how you are going to use it, for lightweight games and multimedia the 2012 one should suffice, but then i've not used one of these so you should probably wait for a reply from someone who has used both.
At 10k it is a steal though!

I got my 2013 version from the US and I'd strongly suggest people to buy locally. Looks like my device has the tough screen issues and in a certain location, my touches aren't getting registered.

You could try taking it to Asus for international warranty (after trying the fix of course). I don't have touch issues but i have that stain around the Nexus logo on the back unfortunately.
Flipkart now selling 16 GB Nexus 7 2012 for 7,999 Rs only and 32 GB for 11,999 Rs only.
If you want to buy this one then hurry. You might not get better deal in future.
I purchased last weeks for 1000 Rs more.
Global and U.S. versions selling for $179-199 SIM-free
A little earlier than expected, Motorola's entry-level Moto G is now available to purchase directly from the manufacturer's U.S.-based website. The 4.5-inch Android 4.3 handset is available for $179 (8GB) or $199 (16GB) SIM-free, with U.S. and global-optimized versions of both available. (Moto's site says both devices can roam globally, but the U.S. version is optimized for American networks, and vice-versa for the global model.) In the U.S. you'll be able to use the Moto G on T-Mobile or AT&T HSPA+, but there's no CDMA or 4G LTE support.
The Moto G is one of the most impressive budget handsets to pass across our desks this year. It sports a Moto X-like polycarbonate exterior, a 720p LCD display and a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 CPU. On the software side it's near-stock Android 4.3 Jelly Bean running the show, with a few Moto software tweaks.
Here's a snippet from our recent review of the Moto G:
"Depending on your perspective, the Moto G can be seen as a ridiculously cheap phone considering its quality, or a ridiculously good phone for its price. Either way, it’s a lesson to other manufacturers in how to make a good, cheap Android phone. The screen is the best you’ll find on a budget handset, the CPU, while by no means high-end, strikes a great balance of performance and energy efficiency, allowing the built-in battery to drive the device through a fully day of use with ease."
Moto G orders placed today on Motorola.com should start shipping from Dec. 2.

So it looks like the version with AWS 3G has *no* Europe/Asia 3G bands at all. Both support AT&T 3G.
I really hope this means the Moto G will become more readily available in the countries Motorola initially stated they would release the phone, as availability is rather poor here in Western Europe (only the 8GB model is available in only Germany and the UK).
I'm very glad for Americans interested in this phone, but I'm a bit annoyed by how Motorola is handling (or not handling, really) the release of the Moto G.

How do you know (or just guessing?) it'll be friday/monday? My status on amazon.de is " Versand wird vorbereitet" since 25/11/2013 morning and "Voraussichtliches Lieferdatum: Derzeit liegt uns noch kein Datum vor. Wir benachrichtigen Sie per E-Mail, sobald uns das voraussichtliche Lieferdatum bekannt ist" - which means shipment is being processed but the date of shipment is still not known.
I bought it via amazon.es, but the moto g with the tag [importacion]. In the same page of amazon.es my transactions tells me the date. Unfortunately I don't know about amazon.de . If amazon in your country had the [impotation] tag you could give it a try!

Thanks for the tip tyrexs! I've pre-ordered the 16GB model a few days back from Amazon.co.uk, but sadly Amazon says it won't be available until December 12th. Amazon.fr gives availability as December 6th, and Amazon.de hasn't any availability indicator at all.

Service is quite good in socal. I left verizon for t mobile two months ago and it is possibly better than verizon in socal. When I was living in nor cal verizon was clearly better but in socal t mobile has very good coverage

No go... I can confirm that I tried but the order was canceled not even 5 minutes after placing it. My debit card was issued abroad but has a us billing address and I have a forwarding address in the US. Crossing my fingers Amazon gets them soon or the price on ebay goes down. :crying:
This is a bit of bad news that I was afraid of:
Before deciding if they want to buy the new handset, US customers should know that they might be having trouble with LTE connectivity. More exactly, the OnePlus X supports the following LTE bands: 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, and 8. This doesn't completely cover the LTE bands of AT&T (2, 4, 17) and T-Mobile (2, 4, 12) - these being the only major US carriers that you can use the OnePlus X on, since we're talking about a GSM device here.

So, the bottom line is that AT&T users will have no access to band 17, and T-Mobile users no access to band 12.
Fortunately, bands 2 & 4 will be covered on both carriers.
Well, that's a deal breaker for me... off to look for another phone. Gotta be now one out of Oneplus 2, Oneplus One, Zenfone 2, Zenfone 2 Laser, etc.

BTW, you better check out the other devices too:
The OnePlus One supports the following bands:
GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz
WCDMA Bands: 1/2/4/5/8
LTE Bands: 1/3/4/7/17/38/40

And it looks like they won't be fixing it either:
In case you were holding out hope the Chinese startup manufacturer would perhaps somehow fix the “glitch” with a miraculous software update, or launch a separate GSM unlocked version tailor-made for AT&T and T-Mobile’s LTE networks, OnePlus crushed everyone’s dreams by confirming “the bands listed on the spec sheet are correct” and “we have no plans for adding more bands right now.”

I don't understand their logic. Sell it in the US, but don't allow full LTE functionality on the only two carriers it will work with.
I might be moving on to a Nexus 5X.
This was a major mistake.
I was looking forward to rocking this on MPCS.
Got to stay with my MotoG3 (which is not a problem).
Is this software related? Is it possible to add the missing band?

Maybe the cellular antenna could be modified with RadioComm or QPST or something similar. Obviously we won't know for sure until someone tries.
Definitely not good news....fortunately my area covers ATT band 2 most of the time. I think It is still worth getting the phone with this price point even if it is on 3G.
T-Mobile won't allow band 12 unless it's certified for VoLTE. That's what they did to Motorola over the 3td gen Moto G and I think the newer X as well.

If my searching is accurate, you're referring to this thread. Looks promising. but there's still the possibility for hardware being the limiting factor and not software.

I went back to a Moto X 2014. 5.2" screen and about the same size as the Oneplus X. Plus marshmallow update is imminent.
Pretty direct article from the Verge on this topic and it's not good:
http://www.theverge.com/2015/11/12/9725208/oneplus-x-lte-att-tmobile-us
In my experience, using the OnePlus X on AT&T in New York City and surrounding areas for the past week, I was unable to keep an LTE signal for more than just a couple of minutes. Most of the time the OnePlus X was stuck on AT&T's HSPA network, which is much slower in both uploads and downloads than LTE. All of these issues also apply to the MVNOs that use AT&T's LTE network, such as StraightTalk or Tracfone.

Crippling lte like this is a MASSIVE FAIL. Sorry, but you would have to be really dumb to buy this phone... I would much rather have features that I actually need like lte, nfc, fingerprint reader, a good camera with ois, no display gap etc.. over a glass back(that doubles your chance of damage) and an aluminum border. 2014 moto x/g, g2, s5 are all better options for under 300...

Verizon and Sprint are CDMA carriers.
Shouldn't it be possible to unlock additional LTE bands using the method for the OPO?
