Xposed? - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone had safely tested xposed on Note 4?

Tmo note 4 here, xposed seems to have broken s health and private mode from what I've found so far.

So it's pretty much the same as S5, I wonder the fix in S5 will work on Note 4. I remember changing some values in a file when I was on S5 with xposed.
Edit:
Just found what I changed last time:
Change in the build.prop:
ro.securestorage.support=false
From 'true' to 'false'.
Anyone brave enough to try?

Tried already, but seems doesn't work. So, I freeze S-health right away.....

There is an Xposed module that should fix this by @wanam I don't know if it will work on the Note 4 like it does on the S5 though.

dude! i love you so much right now lol. i thought i was sol. i tried changing the value in build prop but it actually caused Nova Launcher to crash until i changed it back. (weird i know) has anyone tried using the module on the note 4 yet?

The method you mentioned with the changing of the build.prop is reliant on more than just the changing of ro.securestorage.support=true.
1. Make sure you don't have Xposed installed, if you do uninstall it.
2. Then change ro.securestorage.support=true to ro.securestorage.support=false.
3. Install Xposed Framework.
4. Wipe the data from S Health and HealthService.
5. Reboot.
P.S. Pretty sure this method doesn't fix Private Mode

so i would rather go the module fix route then. Once we can get someone to confirm activating it doesn't hose up the phone of course.

I installed Xposed for a few hours, it made the phone very laggy, so I uninstalled it.

it did for me as well at first but then settled down. havent had any lag issues anymoe. It even caused my texts to send slowly. Like i said though, havent seen any other isssues of lag. S health issue is now fixed... the only issue i have is that we cant use private mode.

Did you use Wanam's exposed module to fix S-Health?

Anyone tried to enable call recording with exposed? And get it working?

I thought private mode was down to being rooted not xposed but I could be wrong

I used wanam xposed to fix it.

I was thinking that you need to be rooted to use Xposed. Is that correct?

One more thing, which version of xposed are you using? I installed 2.6.1 and it just lag too much that i cannot even access wanam module.

Freeze s-health until a fix is found.
My phone is running fantastic at the moment.
It was laggy as crap after installing xposed.
Now its flawless.

They had this problem on the S5, the reason why it lags so much is that Xposed interferes with one of the checks that Private mode and the S Health service use, which causes the sensor for S Health to constantly hang(this causes the lag you have mentioned).
The Wanam module XSecureStorage fixes this by skipping the check the apps make.
I imagine the reason why Private Mode doesn't work even with this module, is because the Secure Element is in a different place; since this module is technically only for S5 and hasn't been update for compatibility.

I think if you check the Xposed Framework thread... you'll find that Xposed is not yet KitKat friendly.
Greenify on it's own is running fine for me though.

Nothing that runs off the xposed module is working at the moment. The developer is waiting to get his phone (nexus 5) in order to update it. On the greenify app thread the developer introduced a work around update for xposed that will enable it to work with KitKat. Go in there and download it abs you'll be able to use any xposed module.

Xposed and call problem

Hello to everyone,
I'm new on this awesome forum (every problem on my older android devies,I've found fix here!).
Now i've got a Huawei p8 lite with 6.0 MM build b574,rooted,bootloader unlocked with twrp 3.0.2 recovery and a few days ago I've installed Xposed v86 without problems.
But I've noticed is with dialer and contacts app with default or with my package (KAIP Prime Awesome!),every time I try to call someone clicking on contact (throught dialer or contact app)
the call crash instantly every time. (I can receive and answer to incoming call)
I've tried with v86 wanam/20160709 version but after fews days doesn't change the situation
Anyone know about this problem?
I hope in an answer soon or I have to uninstall xposed
Thankssssss

You have to uninstall Xposed or if you want Xposed then install sokoban's rom. It is only rom working perfectly with Xposed framework without any issues.

I have come to the conclusion, since some get problems with the xposed, and others don't, that if you install Xposed after a clean install or after a reset, you get less possibilities to face these errors.
I have tried both xposed, and depending on the condition of the phone I would get the same problem.
So, I would advise you to reset the phone, and then install the xposed.

Had no problems yet.
I always use this version of Xposed installer with official v87 framework and I had no issues with stock rom

I'm an honor 4x user. Thanks guys for creating this thread. I'm gonna try your solutions.
Edit: what worked for me, was that I checked the "mount system partition" in TWRP settings before flashing the wanam xposed and it solved the call problem. But without enabling mount system only or something (don't remember exactly), I still had the problem even with wanam xposed.

Xposed - Fingerprint and performance issue

I was rooted, had xposed installed and realized that the fingerprint scanner is much slower and not as responsive as when i am on stock B27 or just stock and rooted.
Stock = less than a second to unlock
Stock + root = less than a second to unlock
Stock + root + xposed (without modules yet) = more than a second to unlock and device performance seems to take a hit. UI lags very often.
I have tried this on a clean setup as well same issue. anyone else with xposed having similar or better experience?

I had modules before (xprivacy, xposed additions and Audio Stream Music Default). But on the clean install I had just xposed and still the same issue.
Looks to me that there might be some interfering between Mifavor UI and xposed.
They should really consider going stock when they release Nougat. Less hassle for them to maintain and easier for us to deal with.

Thanks for the reply guys!
I think I might have figured the root cause of the issue. I installed my modules one by one and realized that uninstalling xprivacy module fixed the issue. It's unfortunate since it was one of my favourite modules
my modules for whoever is interested:
-Audio Stream Music Default - pressing volume keys anytime changes media volume instead of ringtone volume
-xposed additions - cutomize volume keys with multiple taps, long presses for multiple use on lockscreen, screen on/off (i use it for long press volume up or down to switch tracks)
-xprivacy - to control what permissions apps use (but doesnt seem to work with MiFavor so i disabled it)
I had this problem while I was on b20, it went back to normal after I went and updated to b27 via @DrakenFX 's method.. When I came back up with b27, root, xposed, bl unlock, haven't had the slow fingerprint problem If it helps anyone else..

Currently it's not activated.
But 2 days ago, when I installed it firstly, after reboot I couldn't use the phone: it couldn't even get to the pin screen. It was continously doing a screen on and off.
I had to uninstall gravitybox via adb from my pc.
But it has to work (it says you have to activate it) even if it's not activated. At least, on my other device (Moto x style) it does.

Xposed Beta for 8.1 (SDK27)

Xposed was released for Oreo! Been so long don't know where to start.
EDIT: (I was just being dumb)
Grab the systemless version. Easiest way is through Magisk. Just make sure your on 15.2 or grab it via the link below.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-systemless-xposed-t3388268
I think the best method is using the systemless version for magisk, I just tried it and it works.
Simpy go into modules and you will see the sdk27 version at the very bottom: tap on it, you see there is an updated xposed manager apk made for the new magisk version.
Download the apk, install the module, reboot, install apk, reboot.
Works with no problems
Enjoy

I feel dumb but I don't see xposed anywhere in the modules section of the Magisk Manager app.
Is there some other way I should be finding modules? I click on the hamburger menu and then downloads and there's about 30 or so listed.

Never mind. I figured out I had to be on Magisk 15.2. I was on 14.5.
So anyway I downloaded the Xposed Installer that is linked in Magisk Manager and installed it. Then I installed Xposed inside of Magisk. The only problem is the Xposed Installer crashes every time I click on a module to download. Does anyone else have this issue?

Yes, I confirm, I don't know if it's caused by Magisk or because it's just a beta...
Anyway there is a workaround, instead of downloading the module from xposed manager, download the apk of the module from internet (official repo website or from whatever you want), because when you are going to install and enable the modules there are no problems, and after a reboot they're working.
Updated op to reflect install options. Happy modding everyone!

I am happily enjoying the stock ROM on my XL and I keep the same installed on my wife's Pixel. I spent years swapping out custom ROMs on various devices and expected to do the same when I got the PIxels (very shortly after released almost 2 years ago). After the initial shortage of custom ROMs (due to the new OS engineering method) subsided and plenty came out, I realized there was nothing I was missing enough to deal with running custom and not being able to do a monthly update that takes me literally less than 10 minutes. Besides not missing anything, there is pretty much no bloat I need to get rid of, and the device still runs great even with a handful of "always on" apps. Probably best for you to look at the development sub-forum and do your research there and ask questions.

That's like asking, "which tastes better, vanilla or chocolate?" Make a twrp backup, and give it a try, what you like, another may hate. For me, it's fun to add features when I'm using a rom that is lacking in that department.

(GUIDE) Move status bar click to the centre -Xposed

NOTE** After a week of using edexposed it was evident that my battery life suffered, as such please be aware of this trade off, for me it's simply not worth it but please read on if you're fine with it.. you'll still get a day but the difference is clear.

So from what I have, what would I update?
Cheers man this is great to know.
Currently removed the clock from the status bar. Prefer it to on the left.
K-Klock may cause a bootloop so haven't tried that.
Short of finding a way to get FSBI working (which would require xposed - I tried edxposed yahfa, no luck) I haven't found a way.
Our icon blacklist does not have positional clocks, and the substratum theme I tried just resulted in a bootloop.
I badly want to put the clock back on the right side but so far I haven't found a way to do it.
Try gravitybox

Thanks.
The right side? Why?? That would look mental.
Take a look at my screenshot
Battery round the camera, networks on the right, would have been perfect to have the clock in the middle, why would it wasn't the clock on the right too?
Anyway nvm appreciate your response. I think carbon has this option and probably PA. I'll probably the up on one of them.
Cheers.

Have you installed xposed on Android 10 ?
There are several xposed apps I used to use but I haven't seen anything about it on this phone or my last one. The last phone I had, most the mods started to fall to work.
Personally I wouldn't go for xposed, should have put that in the OP.

? You decided that the clock looked better on the left?
never heard of it tbh. How did you install it? The chap above seemed to be having issues.
I've just come across an issue myself, my phone has two OS's one is carbon the other is oxygen, trying to get back to oxygen.
This AB **** is really crap. Just doesn't need to be this tedious
EDIT: Just flashed the zip from oneplus to both slots then formatted data in stock recovery. Back now
I don't know but it would be a nice addition for your magisk rom module.
Perhaps even add full date next to clock?

I agree
I'm trying to find the time which needs to be edited to move the clock.
Apparently it was changed to avoid notches..
Besides xposed there must be a way.
So yep gravity box seems to be our only way at the moment.
Added a guide to the op.
Sorry I know it's not easier to accomplish but that's avenue in 2020
PS: little off centre. It's already smiting me.
Added the date, looks ok now
I think it looks more natural on the left.
*chef kiss*
Obviously doesn't pass safetynet with xposed, but worth it for GravityBox and the stuff it enables me to do.
