One of my Co-workers who visits China a lot came back with a new dual sim note 4.
That was the first thing than made me think fake, then I noticed it had no gapps at all... Not play store no gmail etc.
I took some screenshots of the about screens... Even the model number looks wrong (9100)
He swears black and blue that he bought it from an official Samsung shop... But I'm suspect of it.
Why would you post screens of your coworkers device that include the serial and imei numbers?

whoops. good point, will fix and re-upload.
device is fake for sure!
actually as it turns out its real...
It appears to be a "Chinese Gov Sanctioned" version
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55939390&postcount=15
Its missing Knox (yay) only comes in 16gb (boo) and has no G-Apps stuff in it (wtf?!)
Yeah, I believe a lot of phones sold in China don't have GApps.
As an example, the Chinese version of the OnePlus One also doesn't have gapps preinstalled.
It's real. All Android phones sold in China don't have gapps, and 9100 is the Chinese version of note 4 with dual sim cards. Dual sim cards is a really common thing in China. (I'm Chinese btw)
How much... I'm in Thailand would it work here and the USA. Can you just download the play store. If much cheaper what disadvantages would there be?

I have the Note 3 but it's the HK 16gb variant. This has been an absolute pain in the donkey at times. The only RoM I really have working guaranteed is Miui, which is great, but ... Anyway, I will not want to fall for the same mistake twice.
I live in China too - and for some reason (probably the bands used) I have never got 4G to work on my Phone. I am pretty sure I don't want to get stuck with a model number from mainland china though, as I cannot read Chinese websites to root and get decent roms and Gapps etc. Really wish Google would stop getting banned in China.
Need it to work when travelling to the States and other countries too.
Any decent advise would be appreciated.
Cheers.
You should go for the international model (N910S)

The Note 4 just released in HK 2 days ago, and it's the Exynos version with 32GB storage.
Maybe you can still consider that...

I have gone with the Chinese variant N9108v and am so far happy.
Cheers,
Hallo.
Just got my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 from an e-Bay trader. I think the dealer has a Chinese seat but the phone was shipped from England.
Please have a look at the photos. I also have a box of the original Polish version. It is in both cases the Exynos variant: SM-N910C.
The boxes are slightly different in the color of the printing: Polish ink is slightly darker than the new variant. On the back side of the package the dubious box has "WiFi Certified" instead of "HD Voice", which is labeled on the Polish box. Everything else is equal.
If the device is nominally a SM-N910C model, however it is sold for the Arabic market, can I assume that this device still is technically strictly equivalent to the variant for the European market never the less? Could it be that different or inferior components are used for different Markets? Does Samsung use different tolerances for different markets? Or is the device absolutely identical to the European variant?
Is there a way to check whether this device is an original Samsung Note 4 without opening the box?
Thanks for the hints!
You could watch a youtube video over the fake differences with the clones.
Just boot into download mood
take a look here, and fill out the IMEI nr

In which country is the Note 4 being produced? I know that the Polish Variant of the Model SM-N910C is produced in Vietnam. My Model is produced in China however. So is it a fake or is the Note 4 being produced in both countries? How does the SM-N910C from Vietnam differ from the SM-N910C from China? Are they technicaly identical? Is one country better" than the other? Are there different parts and tolerances being used?
Note 4's are being produced in vietnam and china....The ones being produced in china are not fake (in my country we get 910c which is made in china under official warranty). You can download an app called "phoneinfo" from playstore it will tell you whether you have a genuine samsung phone or not. The 910C being made in china and Vietnam are identical and have no difference.....no quality preference i have seen many phones from both countries. However this is my personal opinion and experience, a senior member may guide futhur on "different parts and tolerances" being used.
Dont worry about the box. In my country some people import brand new phones and ask the sellers to send phone and accessories only. They do this to avoid custom duty (which is levied on new phones only) so they pose as if they are importing a used phone. Then the use a locally made clone box to sell the phone.....the phone itself and the accessories are mostly original.
If the s-pen works while hovering above the screen then it's a real note 4.
If you turn it on, you will see right away the on the screen.
Replicas will never have SAMOLEDs and you will see right away the difference in colors and they are so obvious.
The Polish C-version, which is manufactured in Vietnam and no doubt original, has an internal memory of 24,65GB (according to Kies and Windows). The new Arabic C-version, which has been manufactured in China, has an internal memory of 24,57GB (again, according to Kies and Windows). Could this be a sign for a fake phone or are such minor differences and fluctuations normal and due to the manufactoring process?
CPU Z and Phone Info show absolutely identical hardware, only the internal memory is slightly smaller in the China-manufactured device. The China-version is slightly faster in the Antutu and Geekbench benchmarks however. So, can I now finally and definitly be SURE that the nev, China-made Note 4 is an original, genuine Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910C and is definitly NOT a fake ?
Hmm .. Could all you Note 4 owners write here which version you have, where it was manufactured and how big the internal memory is.
Many many thanks!
P.s.: Where is the N910F (Snapdragon-Version) being produced?

Yes, just instal free "Phone Info" from play store, we'll know it fake or not.
FYI: It's definitly original.. Best way to find out is the Antutu Officer..
Other possibility:
- (Samsung) Phone Info
- CPU-Z
- KIES

Told you....if it has SUPER AMOLED (PURE BLACKS)...and S-pen hovering works....then its deffo an original phone.
Hello all,
I just bought a Galaxy S5 and did some authenticity checking on it. I expected the G900F version since I live in Europe (Romania). It seems that it is the G9006V version. I chatted with a Samsung representative and he told me based on the IMEI that this is the case. I also checked out the download mode and it said the same. Antutu gave it a score of 50483 and says it has a Qualcomm 801 chipset, so at least it seems to be genuine.
I have the option of getting a refund. My question is, do I have any reason to? Are there any downsides to the Chinese version? It does have Google Play, I've read that mentioned as missing. It also came with Android 5, or so it says in the device info screen, and cannot be upgraded to a later version. Does the European version get a newer one? Will mine be able to get updates too?
P.S. The About Device Screen / Model Number displays "SM-G900F" and under Build Number there is a section called "United Arab Emirates". When I went into an info screen in the S Health app I got a screen of text in Arabic... This is weird, does it have any bearing on the software on my phone and the possibility to upgrade it in the future?
Where did you buy it? Unfortunatly this appears to be another case of a falsely labeled G900F

I ordered it from evomag.ro, a fairly reputable local webshop. I'm not aware of the story with the falsely labeled phones, could you please fill me in? Especially regarding how it affects me as a user?
About six months ago I purchased a fake 512GB Samsung Galaxy S10 plus for $800 off eBay..
I had no idea it was fake until a few days ago after watching YouTube videos on fake S10’s...
It looked soo legit when it arrived and the nice packaging...
Live and learn....
I have not been able to update the phone since I bought it...
Is it possible to update a fake Galaxy S10?
What would anyone else do if they were in my position?
So it's one of those Chinese knock offs? Is it even running Android 10 and One Ui 2?

It’s still on Android 9... SM-9750 Chinese...... I wish I could find the China man that sold me this.
SM-9750 is a real Samsung model number. It's the Hong Kong variant I want to say. How do you know it's a copy?

I downloaded a Benchmark app called: AnTuTu Benchmark .app..... It a great app and it told me my phone was fake...
Under settings my serial number is: 123456789abcd... Another sign that my sign that my phone is fake.
Hmm it's possible it might be a hacked phone meaning they hacked the crap out of Android and made everything look legit when it's not. Or it could be a copy. If it's running Samsung firmware with one UI you should be able to flash the latest Samsung firmware with Odin.

I’m confused....my serial number looks like it has a legit serial number when I type: *#06# on the phone pad but when I go into settings about phone my serial number is different and looks like this: 0123456789ABCDF

Yeah most times if serial numbers don't match like that it's fake and best way to find out is use cpu z and antutu and look into hardware info cpu has to be the qualcomm snapdragon 855 if it's the chinese version if it's like MPD or MTD something something random then yeah it's fake sometimes it will show you the real memory size it's supposed to be 8GB i can't remember fakes ones have less sometimes 1GB or something.
Sorry you got duped bro

The IMEI checker says the Brand is Samsung and Black List is Clean whatever that means..
If it gives you serials numbers and matching imei's regardless if single or dual sim, is real.
Blacklist means if it shows BLACKLISTED it means the previous owner has reported the phone lost or stolen for an insurance claim, or not paid rest of bill, thererfore the network provider block the imeis from operating, aka no calls, texts or data ONLY wifi can be used.
And other easy way to test is to do a software update or manually via odin, download official software.

Ok, thanks.... In the app “ AnTuTu Benchmark” .app it tells me my phone is fake...Cool little app...
Thanks for all your help..
I hope I can update this S10 to Android 10.
Sounds like it's a hacked phone more so than fake to to me. You might be able to flash the latest firmware and everything reset to normal depending on if China messed with the internal circuits or not.
Hi
Bought a S10+ on ebay(box open) I received it and attached the simcard but "no connection" I can't even search manually a carrier! physically its a S10+ but looking up the IMEI it says Galaxy Note 10!!??? Now I flashed it with the latest firmware(nordic countries) but it doesnt help. I've also tried differet simcards but it still doesn´t work. I have put it to factory reset(before flashing the firmware)..... The signal strength shows 4 of 5 lines(antenna works?!!) help
This looks similar to my problem (also an open-box purchase off of ebay): https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/s10-g975f-imei-status-ng-and-fails-to-join-gsm-network.4596595/, and also the IMEI looks like a note 10.
What user did you buy it from, maybe it's the same guy and they're running a refurb shop faking open-box phones.

"meilongtech" China. Was a mistake, should have bought it from UK or US
