What is the led light on white Note 4 like in sunlight? Is it barely visible or well defined? Anyone who has it already please share?
Hmmm I don't think it matters.

On my white Note 3 it doesn't. Every color looks very faint in sunlight whereas on black Note 2 it is perfectly visible. Problem is I am not that into black.

That would be great or if anyone else can. On Note 2 Samsung apparently made up for natural lack of visibility on white background with stronger led light, it was not a problem. On Note 3 they forgot about that. I hope they remebered again on Note 4.

I actually tried to read the led lights under the sun and they are really hard to see.....
Red is the most easiest to see, blue so far is ok, juz needa focus a bit. But green is killing me, I can read it if I really concentrate.....
All personal perspectives, hope this can help
Is the led notif light well defined? I see on my white note 4 the left portion of the led is not well defined. On the right portion you can clearly see the outline of the led

Umm....I saw mine looks alright
Can anyone compare the led on their black Note 4 to what has been said in here?
I believe this thread just proves how good this phone really is... No big issues, just small ones.
And to answer the OP question - I have a white Note 4 and I find it hard to see the LED in the sun. Not that I really care - a quick push of the button and I can see if I have any notifications.
Pictures for comparison.

Hi all SGSIII owner, have you try open your phone in the dark room? Look at the black colour such as in the Settings menu. The black not so black, like the Super AMOLED still lighting not like my previous SGS I. I think, this also drink battery juice faster.
BUMP!
Oh noo!! What is that? I open facebook in my dark bed room last night, when I open a photo from my friend posting, and waiting the photo loading, normally I saw black background and animated circle. But today I noticed total black dots in the background.
I managed plotted the dots in Photoshop, it look like this:

Another one issue is dimming.
I test the dimming function from keyboard key-in *#0*#, it not dim like first time I test after I bought the phone. I test the red, green and blue screen still ok, no issue.
What should I do?
I would drink some more juice -
the dots are ink marks that have been known to exist on samoled. According to supercurio, it's a software related problem and should be fixed by his app soon.
back I the sgs day, i didn't have this problem until I flashed cm7, it started happening. I thought my screen had a burn I or dead pixel lol

yeah i feel the exact same thing..im not bothered bout the ink spots, thts hardly noticable....but the blacks not being deep enough, thts very visible in dark lighting with black wallpapers or videos with black backgrounf like when sumthn is loading n just the loading circle n black background or like when test, say the film cast is playing on a black background, the black just seems dark grey....
is this with all sgs3 panels???

the OP is not talking about black spots/blothches man ( his 1st post issue) , hes talking about the depth of black color ...its very dark grey and not deep black like on the s2 and even s1....u can notice it mainly in dim lighting or dark rooms...
even i have this issue, wanna know if all sgs3 panels are like this !!

Oh I see thanks for the clarification
My Galaxy S II had this issue really really badly, to the point where the keyboard and statusbar were lightly burned into the display. Keyboard was temporary but statusbar burn was permanent.
Galaxy Nexus had it a little better, only one very obvious black spot on one of the on screen navigation buttons (which were always black making it more noticeable)
Galaxy S III hardly has it at all! Was planning on taking it back to the carrier (first phone I've got on contract in 12 months) if I noticed the issue badly, but since it's so little (only a few tiny dots) then I'm going to keep this one
I remember a discussion about this on the Galaxy nexus forum. It's just a limitation of the amoled he technology that they can't make the blacks as deep anymore. Personally I think the higher resolution is worth the sacrifice.

look, the spot/ blotches issue is alright if its not too noticable....so thts fine....
but the blacks not being deep enuf, thts too bad considering s1 n s2 had nice deep blacks...
so basically the Supr amold " HD " screen exclusively has this inability to dispay true blacks ???
P.S: yeah the resolution is great, so much better thn the s2 !! love it !
I use this video to test the black on my note, play it in a totally black room, if you have true black you should not be able to see where the edge of the display and the bezel join.
My note`s black`s are pure black not gray.

I havent seen any or probably havent searched that hard, but I'm surprised I havent seen any of the reviews I've seen mention this.
Its very similar to the galaxy nexus with a soft glow.
I posted this vid in another thread, but it's the notification led on the Optimus G. You can assume that the led light used on the Optimus G is probably going to be the same one on the Nexus 4, just in a different location.

I really hope it looks like that. That has a resemblance to the Blackberry notification light, which looks a lot less subtle and therefore more likely to capture your attention than the Galaxy nexus.

I'd assume the same thing if they were in the same position, but since (afaik) the 4's led is in the lower part, so there is still a good chance its different. Though of course, its still more likely to be like the G's than like another random led light.
Edit: oops, i was late, and said less
It should looks like this: http://www.mobiletechblog.it/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Nexus4Led.jpg
I guess there is a frame where you can see the led in the first video that Google made for the release.

Just hope it not the same ****ty low quality LED used in the GNex and the GS3. The colors were all muddled and weak.

Is it because of the lines that sammy put on the bezel? I have to really look hard to notice.
Less-than-perfect circle aside, the LED notification light is much dimmer on the WHITE Note 4 than my black Note 2 (and it's a smaller circle).
No its not because of the lines. You said it right. Its a less-than-perfect circle. Is it the same as yours?

I used to have a white note 2. Bleed into the white was very noticeable. Including at night, it would "backlight" the front part into a faint green or blue (depending on led color). Not necessarily a bad thing.
But anyway, I don't believe they changed their material and paint since then, so the white tends to be sort of "transparent" or emanates/radiates led lights beyond the circle

Ok, I'm seeing it now on my Note 4, but I don't think there's an issue there. When I look at my black Note 2, it seems that the LED isn't one solid colour, but a mix, so on my yellow notification (for example), it looks yellow on the bottom left side and green on the top right, which gives an appearance that things are off.
I remember this happening on the Galaxy Nexus too, but it wasn't a bother and I don't consider it a defect or anything.
Has anyone heard anything about this?
I couldn't do without one!

Nice. I missed that some how. So happy for this. I hate not having notification light.
now the question is.....where the hell on the phone is the led?? and does RGB mean it only get those 3 colors??
It means all colors but from what I understand, it won't be used for notification by the stock system. Apps like light flow would be required.

Some apps will have the option to notify using the LED such as whatsapp.
Others may not. Which is where LightFlow comes into it's own.

Sorry to hear about this on your new phone.
There is a thread about this here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/red-discoloration-samsung-galaxy-s8-s8-t3591325
Samsung have advised that using the RGB sliders within the settings may help resolve the colour imbalance. Try this perhaps? And let us know if it works for you?

My 8+ does and it's nasty. Very annoying. I'm calling tmo tomorrow. It's not noticable when you look at it straight on. When you tilt it to the left and tilt the top meaning looking from the bottom.
My screen is red, very noticeable. The slider helps, but it's only available in Adaptive mode, which isn't my preference. Pretty sure I'll be exchanging mine
