Hi guys... Here goes my first post ever on XDA, although i've been much of a reader of this community and everytime, i got my answers just right!!! So, here is my first issue that i couldn't find the answer for in this forum... So i thought it'd be good to see if we could actually make it work together...
So, I have an N9005 that's stuck on boot logo and it doesn't get further than "Galaxy Note 3 - N9005" logo. And in stock recovery, i get :
E:failed to mount /efs (No such file or directory)

===============================================
I have tried many options.. Tried to flash via Odin, 2 different ROMS... Flashed with PIT... Tried flashing Philz, TWRP and CWM recoveries... As soon as i get to the recovery the phone reboots... So, I'm just out of ideas what to do... Oh and applying from External storage doesn't work... I get more errors saying
E:failed to mount /cache (No such file or directory)
E:failed to mount /cache (No such file or directory)
E:failed to mount /sdcard (No such file or directory)
Your help would be greatly appreciated guys!

Thank you for your reply!
I bought it as a bricked phone... So i have no idea what the guy i bought it from did to it.... I feel like the Partition E is damaged and I, somehow, should repartition it.... And PIT file doesn't do it... It's not the hard disk, i think.... Any ideas???
I had something similar when i tried to downgrade modem., i currently have ng1 and i tried to nc2 and ng2 and i got this bootloop. If you are still able to access download mode there is hope

So you think it might be an issue with the MODEM?
There is no partition E, Android is not windows (E: is not E:\ ) E means error
Download (from sammobile) and Flash NH1 rom in ODIN 3.07 (don't use 3.09) while ticking phone bootloader update, auto reboot and F.Reset time. Good luck
If all else fails tell me, I will try to help again

Congrats, man. :good::good::good:
By the way, I have same problem on different device, Galaxy Samsung S III.
I have downloaded the ROM from Sam-Mobile, it's JellyBean v4.3 (when unboxing it, it was v4.1.2); later when I flashed it, it sadly failed.
My question is:
- Is it necessary to download the ROM with the original version, I mean the 4.1.2 version?
- Should I flash the PIT file, Bootloader, Modem, etc. besides the PDA file?
Thank you for your support.
Live staring at (phone's) screen is sad. Living without it is even sadder.
Please, help.

Do you have the AT&T version of the s3? The AT&T version is the sgh-i747 and there is no stock ROM for the sgh-i747 on Sammobile; however, there is for the Canadian version of the s3 which is i747m.
I have the same issue on my galaxy note 2 please tell how do i fix it

Hey guys,
I was running slimbean 2.7 and devilkernel. When I wanted to reboot my phone, I got into recovery mode instead of the system. "Reboot to system" in cwm didn't help and neither did pressing the power button, I kept getting into recovery again and again.
After Cache and Dalvik wipe didn't help, I decided to wipe data/factory reset and use a backup. When trying to choose the backup, all of them were gone, so instead I tried to flash slimbean again, all I got was "e: can't mount sdcard" (this is all on internal sdcard, i don't have an external one).
So I started odin3 v1.85 and choose semaphore 2.5.0s.tar, put it in pda, brought my phone into download mode, docked it and pressed start (repartition wasn't checked and kies wasn't running either) and I instantly got "fail!". The phone is still connected to odin but it now shows a completely black screen.

Flash an Ezbase rescue kit with 512 Pit file and repartition TICKED from My Android Collections
But First powerdown, pull out Battery, SIM CARD, and EXT.SD card, press power button for a minute, than powerup without SIM and Ext.SD Card....
Tips before Flashing:-
Backup all your important files, contacts, SMS, game data, images etc to PC or Ext SD card. or make Nanadroid Backup If you have CWM
Backup your EFS Folder to PC or Ext SD card
Enable USB Debugging on Phone. Touch menu> Settings> Applications> Development>
Charge your battery to more than 50% before you attempt any sort of flashing.
Disable Samsung KIES when using Odin. Kill Kies.exe, KiesTrayAgent.exe, & KiesPDLR.exe using Task Manager on PC
Use only ROM and solution for your model and Wipe x3

Is both your Storage available on your Phone? and can you open them on your PC ?
If you already have a backup, you can format your SD cards in the phone or via PC by unmount or in USB storage mode.
Anyway all you need to do here, is Flash the ROM again for your region ( initially you must have had XEU). Do not use Pit and do not repartition . Chose from here
First powerdown, pull out Battery, SIM CARD, and EXT.SD card, press power button for a minute, than powerup without SIM and Ext.SD Card, after flashing and reboot , insert them back
Tips before Flashing:-
Backup all your important files, contacts, SMS, game data, images etc to PC or Ext SD card. or make Nanadroid Backup If you have CWM
Backup your EFS Folder to PC or Ext SD card
Enable USB Debugging on Phone. Touch menu> Settings> Applications> Development>

Thanks a lot, I did that, but the sdcard still does not work at all. I'm sending it back to have it repaired, it's gotta be a hardware problem. thanks a lot for your help mate =)

Hello Guys (and ladies!),
I'm new here, i'm looking for a little help with my new S4 device
I was looking to perform a wipe of the default ROM, and install a Google Edition in 4.3. However, I've never reach this last part !
Here is my issue :
Actions done :
Add CWM 6.0.3.2-4 on the S4, using Odin (works fine)
Installation of Adam kernel 1.6 (no prob, the phone is running well)
Transfering the .zip file of the wanted ROM on the internal sdcard with the phone running (ok)
Rebooting the phone on CWM (ok)
Clearing all to default factory, cache & dalvik cache, and... formatting data, cache & system partitions (it was to start as clean as possible). Done without issue (the formatting of the /system was quite long, but succeeded).
But after performing this operation, I was not able to perform any other action on the phone ; when I try to access to the internal sdcard, I have the following error :
E:Can't mount /sdcard/
Click to collapse
On the advanced logs :
W:Failed to mount /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/userdata (Invalid argument)

I try to use an external sdcard, no problem to mount this one. But even by trying to install the ROM through the external sdcard, the installation failed, because the internal sdcard could not be mounted.
So I've try to use odin to reinstall the default rom, downloaded from Samsung website.
The upload is working fine, but the phone is not fully booting (freezed on "Samsung", after the jingle).
I reinstall CWM after this, and I still get the same error message : Can't mount sdcard.
I'm running out of options here, and I don't know what I can try else, Google was not very helpfull with this
Someone have any idea ?
Thanks a lot !
I've proceed to another try to a clean install (using another Odin version, still with the default option, and using a stock rom).
The installation by itself works fine (in Odin) :

However, the device doesn't boot ; the loadscreen with samsung appears, the jingle runs, and the display show "SAMSUNG" and nothing else (waited ~1h to be sure that the system wasn't just still progressing with the installation process).
Rebooting the phone / removing the battery / etc, still the same behaviour.
When adding a recovery (ie, CWM), when I try to access the sdcard, I still have the error message :
E: Can't mount /sdcard/
I don't understand.
- If as I think it was my system formatting which was the root cause of the issue, why the sdcard is not mounting ? I never try to format the whole sdcard. And the ext4fs has been rebuild with success after the formatting
- If the device could not mount the sdcard, where all datas send through Odin are left ? In the memory of the device, and only write into the Sdcard at first boot ? (could explain why the device is stuck on this mode).
Someone think it could a good idea to try to format the sdcard, using the sdcard format option from CWM? If yes, how this is working ? Everything will be wiped ? What about IMEI informations & stuff ?
Thanks.
This was a previous cwm issue where it can't access the SD card. If you install a rom you'll probably get error status 7. Download the latest philz recovery .tar and flash it Odin. Reboot into recovery and wipe everything and the internal SD. This should solve the problem.
---------- Post added at 04:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:41 PM ----------
You will lose everything btw
Thank you for your response !
I will try this and keep you posted.
Just two things :
- "wipe everything and the internal SD". Why do you mean by "the internal SD" ? Format ?
- When you tell "everything", is this including informations like IMEI (don't care about the datas on the phone, just about the hardware specifics for network registration) ?
Just want to be sure of what i'm doing Thanks again !
Formatting the internal SD will wipe the internal memory so you will lose all pics etc. Wont affect anything to do with the hardware, imei etc its just your information on the device
In philz if you select wipe /clean install new rom it will wipe the system completely and the phone won't have a new any software on it until you either install a ROM using philz or using Odin to flash official firmware. My advice would be to remove the SD card just in case you accidentally wipe that as well. In philz that's called the external Sd

To format the SD go into the mounts and storage option

In fact, I finally succeeded
I've downloaded TWRP, and I was able to format and install the Google Rom with this recovery without any issue !
Anyway, thank you for your help. I hope this post could help someone else in the future !
Regards,
Felkor
Glad to hear you got it sorted. Just to make you aware that TWRP 2.5.2 had a similar issue. Should be OK with 2.6

You cannot automatically discount hardware problems simply because of something you have seen on the Internet. Until you have the device looked at, you simply do not know for sure what is wrong.
Now two of us have told you that you have a hardware problem. I personally don't care how you go about fixing it, but telling someone thy are wrong with no hard evidence to back it up is a symptom of a closed mind. It's rude.

Help me guys
Describe your problem.
Hey there!
First of all, I'm quite new here, so please be nice. That doesn't mean I'm completely noob to flashing or Android phones in general.
I'm not sure what my phone model is (It's either SM-G900P or SM-G900F) since it's not 100% genuine. It is however Samsung Galaxy S5.
That means I bought it for a discounted price online, the seller claimed that only some internal parts were changed (with identical ones).
If this is not the right place to post, I'm sorry in advance.. it's just that I'm not entirely sure about my model (says G900P on the back of the phone,
I remember, though, checking in the settings in which it said G900F so I'm kind of lost here).
I have used my phone for a couple of months, and it worked completely fine.
Recently I got my phone stuck in a bootloop. It started from a camera app that didn't reduce the photo quality as much...
I had to change some permissions in my rooted phone and re-install the Samsung camera 3 app.
One thing led to another, and now I'm stuck in a bootloop.
This is my current state:
- I have my Samsung Galaxy S5 with TWRP 3.0.1.0 recovery working.
- Whenever I boot, it either gets stuck on the booting animation or shows it once and then boots into recovery (TWRP).
- I don't know how to get my phone to boot normally into (any) firmware.
Comments:
- I can boot into download mod, and Odin recognizes my phone (It errors on flashing, though).
- Whenever I boot I get KERNAL IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING, Set Warrantiy Bit: Kernal.
- Upon getting into Recovery mode (In the old Philz recovery. Now I have TWRP) , a message written at the bottom says: E: could not mount /data to setup /data/media Path!
- Sadly, my Knox counter is 0x1 (2). (not that my phone came with any warranty)
- My phone was Bought in Russia, it was made in Vietnam.
I have tried:
- Installing a couple of different roms (downloading zip into SD card, wiping data, cache, successfully installing).
(When I try to boot it either bootloops or boots into recovery after 1 try)
- Trying to use Odin (with different versions) to flash .tar.md5 STOCK firmware (if that's what it is).
(On flashing 900F firmware I get aboot auth problem, On flashing 900P firmware I get:
Output on phone:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SM-G900P
CURRENT BINARY: CUSTOM
SYSTEM STATUS: CUSTOM

And it keeps on failing even with different versions of firmware.)
- On trying Kies or Kies 3 to emergency firmware update:
I keep on getting invalid model / serial number after typing varients models (SM-G928F/900F/900P) with my serial number (which is prob invalid).
- Using different PIT files while trying to flash different stock firmware (with all possible combinations) while using Odin.
(Same either aboot (auth fail) error or SW REV CHECK FAIL: [aboot]Fused 3 > Binary 1 error)
- Trying to Factory Reset using TWRP.
It states Failed and outputs:
Could not mount /data and unable to find crypto footer.

Unable to recreate /data/media folder.

Therefore, I can't see any possible solution to fix my bootloop problem.
I have wasted the last 2 days googling the **** out of it (and usually I find a solution),
but I couldn't find anything to fix me phone! I feel completely lost! Please, help me! :crying:
If you guys need anymore information, I'll reply quick and do my best to get everything you need in order to help.
Note that I did follow each step carefully on each solution that I've tried. Chances are very low for me to miss something.
(I even made sure Kies isn't running while flashing with Odin.. and so on)
Possible reasons for errors:
- Both Philz and TWRP recoveries can't mount '/data' to be able to factory reset!
- I don't know which stock firmware I need to flash with Odin (build / country??)
- Could be something went wrong in kernal or bootloader or modem or anything like that?
(I don't know what those things are so I'm not sure).
- All of the Odin versions I used aren't working with my phone? (3.04,3.07,3.09,3.10.7)
- I'm missing a speciifc PIT file to flash with the stock firmware?
- Something in the RW REV is messing things up (I don't know what that is).
Check what model it says in download mode, that is the correct model, but I have a feeling you have a fake S5, so no stock firmware will work, nor will ODIN as it is for genuine samsung phones only
Could try flashing TWRP recovery flashlable zip from Philz to replace your recovery, TWRP is a much more powerful recovery, might let you flash a custom ROM from TWRP

Thanks for your quick response!
It says SM-G900P in download mode.
Are you saying that aboot auth fail and rev errors have to do with the possibility my phone isn't genuine?
Everything worked in this phone, just the way it should.. even the heartbeat censor.. it's all there.
I don't think my S5 is fake, rather it is part swapped or modified, but not a fake (replica) one.
I will try replacing to TWRP and installing 2 roms I have. :good:
Update:
- I have tried installing twrp-2.8.6.0-d802.zip through Philz recovery, it didn't work (error in zip status 7).
- I managed to install TWRP 3.0.1.0.
- I have tried installing PopWiz Telstra v5.0 rom using TWRP recovery, bootloop still persists.
While trying to Factory Reset using TWRP I get some ERRORS and it reports Failed. Phone log:
Could not mount /data and unable to find crypto footer.
Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument)
Unable to recreate /data/media folder.
Updating partition details...

Formatting Cache using make_ext4fs...
Updating partition details...
Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument)

Unable to mount storage
it keeps on repeating the same line that Philz stated in it's recovery.. unable to mount /data.
What does it mean? Also, should I Format Data? there's also an option for advanced wipe...
Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900P Bootloop FIX!!!
UPDATE!!!
Guys, I've finally managed to get this problem fixed. we can close this thread, but I'd like it to stay visible for
other people who might have the same problem.
If you have a Galaxy S5 SM-G900P (or SM-G900F/G928F) that is stuck in a bootloop, and nothing else works,
you might just get off with it by following these steps:
1. Download the latest TWRP Recovery.
(I used twrp-3.0.1-0-klte.img.tar)
2. Download CF auto root Odin3 v3.10.6 (for SM-G900F).
3. Download and install Samsung Kies or Kies 3.
(It doesn't quite matter as long as you install the built in Samsung USB phone driver that comes with it.)
4. Power off your phone completely. If needed, remove the phone cover and pop the battery out of it.
Make sure to reinsert the battery and close the cover to restore the phone's normal physical state. (optional)
5. Get your phone into Download mode by pressing and holding (both at the same time) the Volume Up, the Power and the home buttons.
(If your phone bootloops instead, repeat from step 4. If your phone booted into recovery, there might be an option to get into Download
mode through there. If not, repeat from step 4.)
6. Once in download mode, make sure to press volume up again if needed to continue.
7. Open the Task Manager and search for any process that is similar to Kies (by name and icon both).
It has an orange rectangle icon, the name might vary a bit. Make sure there is no such program running in the background.
8. Open up Odin (use admin rights if needed) and click AP.
9. Locate and chose twrp-3.0.1-0-klte.img, which you have downloaded before in step 1.
10. Connect the (original) USB cable to your phone and to your computer.
By now your phone is in Download mode, Odin 3 is open and has the twrp recovry selected in it's AP,
and a message says in Odin "added", it shows one blue rectangle in the ID:COM's tab.
11. Click on the Start button in Odin, and wait until it says Finish or Reset.
Your phone should reset now and try to boot again (which will make it bootloop). If that happens,
Power off the phone either by holding the power button for 10 seconds, or by popping the battery out
and reinserting it. Alternatively, the phone will boot into TWRP recovery. If so, skip step 12.
12. Power off your phone (if its on) and boot into recovery by pressing and holding the Volume down,
The Power and the Home buttons at the same time.
13. TWRP Recovery should boot up. Swipe right to allow modifications.
14. Tap the Wipe button.
15. Tap the Format Data button.
16. Type "yes" and confirm the format.
Done!
after rebooting your phone should boot normally with the installed firmware.
If your phone persists on bootlooping, install a custom firmware fitting your device (SM-G900P) -
There's plenty on tutorials on how to do that, and after the install boot into recovery and format data again
(Steps 12-16)
I would have posted links to all 3 files that you need (Samsung Kies, TWRP recovery, CF Odin v3.10.6) but I'm new to XDA, so I can't really post any links.
Good luck! If you guys have any questions about this, do feel free to post here or contact me personally.
G900P it is then
Pleased you got it sorted
Hi
I did what u did but i try to enter recovery
It says recovery seandroid enforcing
Hey!
I kinda screwed up, horribly.
I initially had a Verizon S7 Edge, but I was on T-Mobile service so I decided to follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...de-flashing-sm-935u-firmware-verizon-t3415145 and it worked! Then I thought, maybe if I flash the T-Mobile firmware, it would work even better, and it did! Then recently I decided that I wanted to go back to unlocked firmware, so I tried flashing it again. Thats when everything went to ****. It failed, and said something about "sw rev check fail fused 3 binary 2", and so I tried again and it failed. I rebooted thinking that maybe the old os would be intact but it booted to recovery mode saying that it couldn't mount any of the partitions. So I tried to reflash the T-Mobile firmware again and now its giving an error about how there is no PIT partition. From googling online, I think I need to flash a .pit file or something. I could only find PIT files for the international unlocked s7 edge. Does anyone have the PIT files for the AT&T/Verizon/Unlocked S7 Edge (preferred, because I can then flash the U firmware), or even the T-Mobile PIT file?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
EDIT: I rebooted the device and it took me to recovery and complained about not being able to mount /cache and /system. I fixed the /cache issue by using the "wipe cache partition" option, but now it is saying "dm-verity verification failed. E: failed to mount /system (Invalid argument)"
I tried flashing a PIT/ROM combo for tmobile that I found online but now im getting this error:

Thank you, but I just figured out how to solve the issue. I found the latest firmware from TMOBILE and flashed that. Apparently I had updated my phone so the bootloader was version 3 instead of version 2 or something and you can downgrade. Im not sure if thats the right explanation, but my phone works now, so thats good.
Thank you.
Download G935 U 4files firmware (qualcomm edition, no verison-tmobile-sprint-att bloatware).
My g935a phone is g935u firmware, and work perfectly.

I have already tried that and failed. I think the TMOBILE bootloader is more updated or something and so you cant flash to a previous version of the bootloader. IDK, maybe someone can explain it better?
