Hey guys, is there a reason Facebook messages or wechat messages (not sure which one) count as text messages? I have unlimited, but it says i use around 1000 per month while i use less than 100 text messages per month.

Its definitely not Facebook because I use that and haven't noticed this behavior ... Although Facebook chat allows you to message SMS so you might look into that if there is an option to disable that
Yeah it definitely is facebook, but i dont see a sms option...hmm

Hey guys, I had previously stored my 5000+ sms messages from my XperiaX10 into my Gmail account... After I bought the Atrix4G, when I restored these messages, I saw that just some part of them were restored because there is a limitation of SMS's per conversation in Android 2.2!
Is there ANY way for me to restore ALL my messages back to my phone? Any way to remove that SMS limitation they put (which is 1000 per contact I believe)? If it's through an application (through rooting the phone, anything I can do...?)
Thanks a bunch!
Try the handcent text messaging app. Its free plus will give you a TON of extra features including unlimited inbox limit.

hmm I liked the idea, buuuut I believe Handcent syncs directly from the Messaging App so if the Messaging app doesn't get the restored messages from Gmail, I'm guessing Handcent wouldn't either? It bugged the only time I tried... I could try again, but I don't really know what I'm talking about hehe...
And I've never really used Handcent, how does it work when you receive a message? Do you get 2 notifications? Is it possible to set Handcent as the default messaging app? How does it work?

With 5000+ messages, wouldn't you rather leave them in Gmail? At least you could use the search feature in there
Yea wouldn't it be better to save that in an archive then build it again with another app now? Of course I don't know how you could import them if the SMS applications don't support it but....

It just doesn't make sense to have 5000 text messages in that format. That's a lot of scrolling if you are trying to find a specific text message, whereas, in the Gmail app you can use keywords, such as the contact's name and whatever you were talking about and then BAM, there it is.
I can't text more than one message to any person at one time. This includes both mass texting and sending large compound messages.
Searched google and the forums but see no fix. What do I do?
Thanks

I ran into this problem when I merged with Google voice.....it was the only reason I un-merged.....
Google voice does not support sending messages to mutiple people at the same time. You could use your stock message app to send messages to mutiple people but the responses will come back into Google voice. The other option is to un-merge.
I am using my stock app... Google voice is integrated to my account with sprint

I send messages to groups all the time. Yes, to send them I have to use the stock app but its not hard. Before the integration replies came in another thread, now it comes in a different app, not a big difference to me, it all pops in the notification bar anyway. The only thing I miss is the pop up message from handcent they you could reply directly from.
I'm looking for an app that will send out
A text to maybe 100 or more contacts.
I have Wanam mods installed so my text limit is 999. But I can't seem to send mass text from any sms program.

I don't use Wanam much so I can't help you out there but if you don't find another option have you considered a mass text service. I know alot of club promoters who use them but I don't know how often you'd be doing your mass texts for it to be worth paying for monthly.

Textra here. The stock messaging app is lacking in features like group MMS.
Textra also.

Textra is like the stock messaging app but on steroids. Pretty lightweight and loaded with customization features and options to fine tune what you what in a SMS/MMS app.
Textra
Hangouts... I like the integration

Hangouts for all, also using the Dialer for voLTE calls.
Hangouts is a pretty awesome, all-in-one app, not just for texting, but instant messaging, voice chat, video chat, and regular phone calls. And gifs!
Hangouts
Is Textra Sms only or does it also get actual Hangouts messages?

MySMS. I use it for cloud text backup and notifications on my tablet and PC.
Hangouts.
Textra FTW! ?
I've been using Go SMS Pro because of the group messaging (most of my friends have iPhones). I haven't been happy with it because it gets laggy when there is a lot of activity going on. I will check out Textra!
Hangouts is still not that great, but I use it. Where the hell is the search feature in Hangouts?
I did never used Hangouts for sms. What are the prons in it? I tried it now, but I see nothing special in it.

Well for those who need group messaging, the stock Sony SMS client is not an option. Hangouts is as good a choice as any to most people.
Personally, I've been using the leaked Messenger app from Lollipop.
I'm using the 5.0 Lollipop MMS app
I keep having issues with the messaging app built in. Only when I get messages from iphones it always shows the download message box and I have to hit it. I'd there a better messaging app where I don't have to do that? My s6 didn't do that with stock messaging.

Group messages from iPhones? Your phone is trying to receive an MMS and you might have the auto download MMS off in the settings of your messaging app.
Thanks finally found that part of settings for both group messages and auto download. Let's see if that works.
