I can't text more than one message to any person at one time. This includes both mass texting and sending large compound messages.
Searched google and the forums but see no fix. What do I do?
Thanks

I ran into this problem when I merged with Google voice.....it was the only reason I un-merged.....
Google voice does not support sending messages to mutiple people at the same time. You could use your stock message app to send messages to mutiple people but the responses will come back into Google voice. The other option is to un-merge.
I am using my stock app... Google voice is integrated to my account with sprint
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I send messages to groups all the time. Yes, to send them I have to use the stock app but its not hard. Before the integration replies came in another thread, now it comes in a different app, not a big difference to me, it all pops in the notification bar anyway. The only thing I miss is the pop up message from handcent they you could reply directly from.

Ok so I'm on bonsai 1.1.3 with the new cwm and emotionless beast theme. This just started a couple days ago. When I get a new voicemail I then all of a sudden get a new text message. The text message is from 9016 and it says android ###-###-#### (the phone number that sent me the voicemail) has sent you a sprint voice message. Call 408-970-0000. Mmsn,106bee099,9fc6,v69bdosvezi//cm. This is just one example of one I got. Like I said it just started a couple days ago. Anyone ever had this and know what it is? It's really annoying when this happens. Thanks for your help!
Do you have the no bubble messaging app? Or the stock messaging app?

I have this too after I replaced the bubble MMS app with the white one with square pictures on the left (similar to a facebook chat looking thing). Looks like the evo sms app from what i've seen.
Is that whats causing it? All I did was push the Mms.apk from viperrom to bonsai 1.13
all you have to do is blacklist the number the text message comes from. Not sure if the stock app will do it, but handcent will.
I never changed my SMS or anything. I just updated the bonsai rom. As soon as I get my voicemail notification I get those new text messages.
This is happening to me as well.
this is going to be funny...
but can someone attach the MMS.apk that is causing..i kinda actually want this to happen after i get a voicemail..
thanks
No 9016 txt with qr 2.7 b ut when I added on the 1.7.3 theme I get the txt

I just have my VM setup to forward to my Google Voice number. That way I never get VM in my Sprint inbox - no fuss with visual VM either. You can use either the Google Voice app or have Google Voice send you a text.
Anybody know why its happening. Is it something in the bonsai rom cause.i havent messed with my sms and voicemail?
Sent from my Evo killer!
that is the visual voicemail to text thing it happens on all phones with vvm to text, call tech support tell them to block the number from texting and problem solved, i have to do this a few times a day d]since i do their tech support lol
Its from the messaging app with the rom. Its using the no bubble mod with the 5mb mod. I figured out that was causing it and just found a stock messaging.apk in the theme forums. Once you switch it out, call your self a couple times and you will notice the text after voicemail goes away.

Check in the theme section for the no bubble mod mms.apk. I would post it but I'm at work and don't have a computer near by.

I'm not positive, but I think if you are getting VM notification texts saying "call 408-970-0000(or any number)to listen to your VM messages, its because your voice mail isn't provisioned properly. The network doesn't realize your phone has visual voice mail, so its sending you a text to let you know to call to hear them. This happened to me a few times on my HTC hero when flashing cyanogen mod, and also a few times on my epic when i had a bad flash, or i had a poor signal on my first boot.
You should be receiving a message with a sort of code in it, something like {android}/noreply/notificationon(i don't remember the exact syntacs or message, but it will look something like that) it was caused by your MMS.apk.
When i had the provisioning issue, this is what i did to resolve it:
1. Dialed *38(resets VM to carrier in case it as setup to go to google voice, or other third party VM).
2. Open the VVM app
3. Hit menu
4. press Compose
5. in the "to" field put "[email protected]"
6. press record
7. as soon as the "send" button ungrays and ill allow you to, press it.
If this doesn't work you can try making a nandroid backup and odining to a stock rom, then re-rooting and restoring your nandroid.
Best of luck

I have this same issue, but when I blacklist it with Handcent, it still gives me a notification that I have an unread text message even though it doesn't show up on my conversation list...Looks like I might just have to go back to stock and re-root unfortunately...
PS - Also tried the above and haven't seen any changes, still get the stupid 9016 text that I have an unread voicemail...
Well I did the email to activate and got a txt back. Still get the 9016...odd didn't happed on qr 2.67 but mold mms is 1.73 theme did....

I'm pretty sure this is google voicemail interfering with your regular voice mail. You need to go into gvoice and deactivate the number from going to google, and it will stop.
I'm using viper rom and get the same text message so it is not rom specific. I have tried the messaging.apk change and still get the messages. Does not appear anything is working so far to stop the texts

Hey mikel719 or anyone who has the stock Froyo Messaging app, can you please post it here so we can fix the issue if we dont want to download handcent to blacklist or download redlist to hide the message?

Using Google voice. Is there any way I can disable my text messages from going through voice and instead using stock android messaging? Its really annoying.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Tapatalk
Just go into the Google Voice settings and then sync and notifications. There you can disable the notifications.
do i uncheck "inbox notifications"? i already had "text messages" unchecked.
Wondering the same thing. I don 't have anything checked and everything is still routing to my GV inbox. Aggravating.
Go to www.google.com/voice
Click on Settings in the top right corner
Find your Sprint phone in the list of phones and click Edit
Toggle the check box for "Receive text messages on this phone."
(I don't know if this works or not but someone can try it )

Everything is going to be in your Google voice inbox, you can't change that. Unselect notifications in your phone's Google voice app.

This is exactly what you need to do.
I had this problem yesterday.
First, go into the Google Voice app on your phone and turn off all notifications.
Then, goto voice.google.com and change the setting Matt2053 is talking about.
Works perfect for me now.

Maybe im not understanding you, but is that not what you wanted?
You say texts are now coming to your text app, and that you are only getting notifications for the text app.
Sounds like its working normally to me.

Correct ... but on Google voice app and web site there is still a copy of the text I have received or sent to someone ...
Now my question is will there always we 2 copies as long as I have my Sprint number linked to Google voice?
If so that blows but I guess its a small price to pay...

Yes, there will always be two copies.
But honestly thats partly why i love having it integrated.
You can check your texts from your phone or your computer. You can even send texts using your number from your computer if you wanted to.
Its neat!

I don't mind getting messages via gvoice, i'm just trying to receive messages via stock app. It just sucks having to go thru gvoice to access my texts.

You have to enable your phone to receive texts in the settings under google.com/voice. Make sure its checked. But you will be double notified, which annoys me.

I'm not using Google Voice because of this. I used to use it because of the visual voicemail and it being converted to text, but I don't want it running everything on my phone. It needs much more customization.
Is there a way to search within text messages using either the stock messaging app or the in-built google search? Example: I know I recieved a text message with the word 'theater' in it. Can I somehow search all my text messages for the word theater.
I'm almost certain I had this feature with my G1, Nexus One, and Nexus S... Did Google take it out?

Thanks, guys.
Can't believe I missed that, it was right in front of me!
I started having problems with others not receiving my text messages. I could receive texts but when I sent a text message it showed that the message was successfully sent but the other party would never receive it. I went to Sprint today after spending all weekend trying to figure out what happened. The tech guys at Sprint said it was Google Voice causing the problems. I disabled Google Voice online and called Sprint to have them remove it from my account. Texting works again. Thinking about it, it seems like the problem started after the Hangout Calls integration. Still not positive that was the problem but so far it seems to have fixed the issue.
Did you remove the Google Voice app altogether? I was having issues with sending SMS and removing the app allowed me to send them again.

I removed it when the merge for Google Calls came out. I eventually removed Google Calls while trouble shooting but that did not work. I even froze Hangouts with Titanium Backup at one point. I seem to remember reading that you cannot remove Hangouts so I have it on my phone but I signed out of it.
Wife and I just received our MXPE. Using it with stock apps installed.
After setting up my Moto X (Voice). I am wanting a speech to text messaging App.
In other words, using my phrase to wake up MXPE, Telling it I want to send a Text Msg, and then recording the text message and then sending it.
What do I need to perform this function?
What Message/Text app can be used? Stock Msg App, Hangouts or other?
App must be commonly used by the most people i.e. Not WahtsApp (Limited only to WhatsApp user)
Thanks for this great forum and people who maintain it.

Do exactly what type said.
Say your launch phrase (OK google now), say who you want to text (text Jane Doe), dictate your message (let's buy pizza for dinner tonight), at that point it will use your default text messaging app to send the message.
If there is a long pause between telling it who to text and the message it will ask what the message is. If you turn on one of the assist modes it will tell you when the person messages back and read the message they send back to you with an option to reply.
