can any1 help me out here i just bought an 8525 for 80 off a co-worker he didnt want it because it keeps turning off on him i think its a few loose connections...theres a bit of play in with the battery but anyhow changed batteries same thing so any one know what part i should be replacing and also where i can get parts for this phone. i have tried looking on the site that i use for my other phones but all i find are screens and black housings so if you guys can help me out i'd love it
anyone im looking at it right now and all seems well and i tested the battery on a different fone and everything is green just cant figure it out. also just found out that my jogwheel is broken
That could explain why the co-worker sold it to you for 80 bucks.. .. you might be able to find parts on Ebay .. see if anyone is selling one with a busted screen or something..
thats exactly ehy i got for 80 i knew what it was just hoping for an easy fix i do repairs tho so no biggie just gotta find the parts thanks ill start looking once my ass friend gets off myspace!!!
It can't be a "loose connection" unless the solder from the battery connectors came loose because he battery connectors are connected right to the board.
thats one thing i noticed also the prong look like they have been squished down almost flat instaed of < they are more - but not that bad and there is quite a bit of playu from the battery compared to my good 8525 oh well maybe i can come up on a third and swap out parts. thanks for the help guys any other suggestion i have already kinda fixed the prongs. and now the phone wont even turn on this suck but i know this can be fixed
hey does any1 have a broken hermes they wouldent mind getting rid of i need parts or if ppl wanna be nice to me and my thin wallet and donate their old broken hermes to me i would really appreciate it

I dealt with a similar case a while back. Going off randomly. In his case it turned out it was the battery connections. They had lost some of their spring tension and he was unwilling to try bending them out a little for fear of causing more damage. In the end we decided that he would try placing a strip of card between the battery and the casing on the side opposite to the battery connections. ie. to press the battery more firmly against the connectors. How thick it would need to be would depend on how squashed the connectors are.
It worked for him and he decided just to leave it in place.

If you cant fix it let me know. I need the vibrate motor. And no im not kidding
Hi all,
Just wanna share with you the GT 10.1 owners out there... There's a tiny little friend who lost her way and start to wonder around in my devices, trapped in between the glass panel and LCD, kind of funny when saw it moving inside there.
It eventually stayed static at one point, I don't know how to get it out from there, so I sent it to Samsung services centre for help. Since it still under warranty, they'll replace a new set of LCD panel cause they have no clue how remove it.
Aren't this thing supposed to be tightly seal? or because it's SAMSUNG.
Maybe it broke the seal? If there would be an opening with enough space to fit an ant, you would have had a big dust problem long time before the little guest found its way into the device.
Please tell me you took a photo or a video before you sent it in... That's too funny.
I think its sad. Your little ant friend will never find her way home. She like tom hanks in the movie Castaway
Hello everyone , first of all sorry for my English
I have big problem with my Streak , and i see that lot of people has it tooo , but no one can help.
I bought dead Streak , it dosent respond on anything.
I was thinking that this is because of flat battery , but i bought universal charger , and charged it to 3.72V , and that didnt do nothing , it was still dead.
Then i changed Qualcomm PM7540 Power Management chip , and still nothing.
Then i changed Texas Instruments TPS 65023 Integrated Power Management IC and still its dead.
I didnt reball , i have changed this units(pm7540 and TPS65023) to new as if this was better way to see if its their fault but i supose that isnt their fault because Dell is still dead
Next i tried to fix bootloader but zero response from riff box.
Now im stuck and dont know what to check. What can cause that Streak is totally dead to everything???
Please someone help me , that is not only my problem.
Thanks very much
Like you, I bought a dead Streak. Unlike you I don't have the skills to replace chips (I wish I was that clever).
What I did was to replace the entire motherboard. Which seems like cheating compared to your efforts.
Tomorrow I will check a motherboard with an oscilloscope, there is quartz near PM7540 , maybe it is dead and maybe it blocks PM7540 from starting all units

I humbly stand before you with awe and respect. I feel like I am in the presence of a superior being.
Please come back with your update.
I have a motherboard that doesn't work for me but you may be able to perform your magic on it, so you are very welcome to have it.
Hi all,
this morning I left my tablet at home and when I come back found it with broken glass (I think tmy little brother dropped it, but he doesn't confess)..
Sometimes touch works, more often not.
However.. What can I do? I read that some lcd are not glued properly, and it could be my case, because on the left it's a bit lifted on the center.
In your experience, is there hope that it can be repaired for free?
And if not, where can I find replacement (I only found this: http://www.powerbookmedic.com/Google-Nexus-7-LCD-and-Digitizer-Assembly-p-22606.html , but it isn't available)?
Thank you!
sooooo sad! :/

At this moment you have Two Options..
1. Sell it on Ebay for Parts you probably get about 50 to 100 at most.
2. Pack it up and store it away in a closet and forget about it. Until the Screens are being sold as parts.
the reason for both options is due to Asus not selling the LCD/Glass at the moment as a Part.
they are still manufacturing the Nexus 7 and soon will be making the Nexus 7 with 3g capability.
so there biggest priority at the moment is to keep making them.
you can send it in for repair with Asus but it will cost you about $160.00 just to get it repaired.
not to mention how much it going to cost you to ship it to them.
is the device frame cracked or damaged broken is the back scuffed or cracked .. Does it look like its been dropped. IS THE Crack on the left side. CAN You post pictures. Answer the above and give some pics and more info..
i know you do not really know for sure .one more question was it moved can you tell for sure rather someone was using it or not ?
If you really feel it cracked laying where you left it . Without anyone touching it . CALL GOOGLE PLAY.. But please do not be dishonest . There is a issue with the screen lift cracking and becoming unresponsive . as well as backlight flashing issues..
Looking forword to seeing pics and more info

Hey
If I were you, I would contact Samsung support by mail or phone and ask them if this statement is true. I could believe it's possible, but again you never know when it comes to Samsung. They could have changed a little bit...
Regards.

Done. The Support couldnt give me an answer on my question.. I will see what happens.
U can compare the devices on different internet sites and u will see that there is NO difference between those displays
well, there might be no difference, but actually, yes there was ! o:
i got it back yesterday, and it worked for 1.5 hours with restarting whole time and than it was dead and didnt boot normal or into recovery or download mode.
Now they have to reapair it better.. with i9506 display that will work 100%

yes.. they have differences.. if you control the codes on the seller sites you can see that they are different and incompatibles. it seems also that i9506 is a little brighter and larger. anyway the product codes are different
Hello.
So? Is there any happy ending?
I have changed display from i9505 too. and Phone is hanging, turning off and overheating...
Im interested if this is because of different display or because phone was wet when damaged display...
update: removed Antenna + Loudspeaker. phone still hot. but works now. So i do not believe that it is because of screen....

hey, nice to hear that it might not be the screen, for me the result is still unknown. My device was not working after letting them put i9505 display in it. It worked for quite an hour, than it restarted very very often and suddenly it didnt do anything at all. No Download mode or recovery mode too.
The shop said, that the software was completely deleted for no reason. but they flashed the firmware again but the problem with rebooting and after all having a "dead" device was still there. Now they are trying to find whats cauing this problem, and the will send it to samsung if they dont have a plan what it could be ( but i definetly know, that it has to do something with the screen, because earlier, befrore the display change, EVERYTHING worked fine!).
Im so excited how it will end, and especially, who is going to pay, if samsung has to repair what the shop has done wrong
Its really interesting....
I think they could break something when disassembling screen... It was quite difficult to remove some flexible cables as they were stick to screen.
If you have Samsung warranty then you can take only to Samsung dealers to repair, otherwise you loose warranty. That's how it is in my country.
update: My s4 was dead for half a day. but now fully working. have already flashed recovery and rooted... works like a charm
(it were restarting sometimes, after rooting restarts somehow have stopped)

finally i think (and i hope) i got a solution. Thex have ordered a i9506 display unit and finally understood that theyve done something wrong. now they will try to fix it and see if the fault was caused by the screen or not ^^ in some days i will now more
Well after trying to learn a bit about difference between i9505 and i9506 and shv-e330s i came to a conclusion that they might be the same device if samsung didnt magically decide to complicate things. I9505 and i9506 have different hardware and their displays are obviously not interchangeable. But, nowhere on the entire frickin internet was i able to understand is i9506 actually shv-e330s. Or are their screens compatible. So i asked samsung like this:
Hello! I would like to ask is there a possibility to replace a broken display on SHV-E330S S4. My father purchased the phone in South Korea and brought it to Croatia, but the phone fell and broke the LCD display. I am trying to find the display for SHV-E330S but I cant find any on the internet. My questions are - can I order a replacement display from Samsung directly? Or can I use the display for i9506 S4? They seem to be same variations regarding hardware inside, except for the DVB tuner antenna for SHV-E330S. Thank You in advance for Your answer.
Their response was just that they cant offer service outside of korea and that they are very sorry. Havent even mentioned the question about i9506 and shv-e330s.
So there ya go. You got shv-e330s outside korea? No help.
different screens
Hello there,
yes it is a different screen
I suppose it is interchangeable because I9500 or I9505 screen (I can't remember exactly) is working fine on my phone. BTW, I got the part and replaced by myself.
But, please note if they replaced your front panel as well, probably your MB was damaged. The front panel is a different one.

Hey,
Yes there seems to be a problem, at least you cannot use a i9506 screen on a i9505 Phone.
Seems to be a Problem with the connector, because the screen works until somewhat applies too much force on the conector (not much, just a tip with the finger is enough), like the backcase does when it is clipped back on. So the connectors might differ on the on the models. Hope this helps someone.

I sanded down the raised metal bit on the right of the motherboard mounting area. It fits almost but I have that pressure issue. Do you have more info so I can figure out what connector is pushed
