Android Wear kernels? - Wear OS Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am greatly surprised I haven't seen any kernels available for the Android Wear watches or at least with as excited as everyone seemed to be with the watches, I figured people would be fighting each other at the chance to create a kernel for battery life or multitouch or anything else for that matter. Do you think we will ever see this?

Psgroove for android

First of all I can't code myself..
Second I don't know if I'm allowed to ask questions here
But does anyone know if it would be possible porting psgroove to android, I'm not asking if it has been done just if it is possible.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Yeah this would be really great. I do know an iPhone version is being worked on.
I hope someone manages to do it, the phones should be more than capable of running it aslong as the software has control over the USB port. Although I think it should be possible since I've seen software to make your phone a USB host for nexus and desire.
this guy is

What does this mean and how does it work... does it mean this:
Simple drag and drop data files onto our micro sd, then usb the android to the ps3 and it'll serve the same purpose as the dongle does? AKA, no need to buy psjailbreak or any other accesories?!?!
Yep that's basically what it means

hes been working on it and according to him it should be complete sept. 3rd
"Off for now I will be back in a few hours.
I have been working at this for over 30 hours straight now. I'm off to get some sleep. I will be sure to get you guys a special gift tomorrow HINT"
cant wait
i think this is fake, do not donate to be a beta tester!

wait for the video he is promising, also wait for others to confirm. Making an app is simple, making one that actually does what it claims is completely different.
I find it strange that he is asking for donations for an ipod/iphone when he hasnt finished the android port first, seems fishy but i am hoping for the best and waiting.

does that mean its fake? we just have to wait and see
that mostly is a fake always he talk's about is an app that does everything but you have to patch the android kernel so as to make it access the low-level functions that we need.the android system is like a sandbox which wont allow an user to access the low-level stuff. But hey it's been promising KaKaRoTo came up with a n900 version of it.Hope some1 can p0rt it over to an android device
After extensive google search I have came my personal opinion (everyone has one) that this will happen in the future. The software used to make this is open source. Since android is based off of open source somebody will be able to make this happen. I personaly am not smart enough to do this. I see a lot of sites promoting this to happen with jailbroken iphones in the "near future" more but for it to happen with android phones is very proberble as well

well it'll come in a day or two.just let kakaroto release his source code which he'll be doin tomorrow hopefully.then the android specific ports will soon follow in ^_^
Guys, I seriously think this netzke guy is deceiving everyone. Normally I don't like to be in this position calling someone a liar, but his blog posts are very awkward.
http://netzke.blogspot.com/
He just posted this:
I've been working pretty hard through this. I will be taking a few hours to sleep now. Your comments may not appear for several hours because of this. I'm not sure what the rest of the team is planning to do. Chances are they will also be taking a break for a few hours.
Beta for Iphone is open now. Beta release in the next week +- 3 days.
Beta for android is still open but we will be closing it soon
$15 will get you into the beta for sure. Others may or may not be selected given the large amount of applications. So your best way in is to donate.
A video will be released within the next few days. of both the iOS port and the Android port.
Those who do donate may not receive confirmation for a while. But we will try our best.
Donate button is on the top right for those who have been asking.
Thanks for understanding that people have to sleep

I made this comment on his previous post, but he did not approve it:
Ok, I'm starting to loose my faith that you are actually doing something. Time to show some proof. In all of your posts you didn't say anything technical about your progress. What did you accomplish so far? What are your main issues right now? You've been wasting more time asking for donation than in actual development. As for your screenshots, anyone with basic Android coding skills could make an Activity with buttons triggering Toasts in less than 10 min. Where is the video you promised?
AND FOR THE REST OF YOU FOLKS:
I can't believe there so many people dumb enough to give this guy money without him actually delivering anything useful.

may not even have to make an app for it..
readme has info on where to edit if you want to port it.
so you could just edit for the usb controller on HTC phones, compile to the linux app, then run it through a terminal.
would be an interesting idea anyway

Is someone else picking up development of Hydra Kernals?

Not sure if I dreamt it or where I heard it from that someone else was going to be picking up development of the Hydra Kernals, any truth to this?
Would love to see an update to Hydra with the new codes floating around.

There was some discussion of this before ejhart left the kernel scene. I'm not sure that anyone took it on. I was a huge fan of his work. Always put out stable kernels. You would not see 'zomg boot loop' threads when people ran hydra. He always worked very hard to ensure the gap between stability and performance was at an absolute minimal.
The guy knows his ****. I'd love to see him come back just to release a kernel on the new source.

Gingerbread ported to another galaxy

Anyone smarter than me know if we can work off of this at all?

See, you just need to ask
Galaxy S with Nexus S kernel - Booting Nexus S Android Gingerbread
Videos are here:
http://www.youtube.com/supercurioxda
What's about this port:
- It uses the Nexus S kernel compiled from sources
- It runs the exact /system image release, we dumped yesterday. (I spent the night of it so it's still the same day!)
Am i French ?
Now you don't have any doubt anymore
Which filesystem ?
This early preview runs on Ext4. no RFS at all, the kernel don't support RFS.
Does everything work ?
Nope, but I must admit I didn't expect such a result.
Don't work: GPS / Voice / Wifi / some Buttons / camera
Work: everything else: like sound, GL acceleration etc
Will it work ?
I think most of it will work after countless hours spent on it.
Is it flashable with Odin ?
That's a good idea <Gregounech>, i think i'll do that tomorrow.
Do you work alone ?
I worked alone to produce this preview, but not to produce the dump yesterday.
Credits go the IRC channel #NSdev on freenode !
What about a team ?
That's the goal. Rendez-vous on IRC so we can produce ports and improve the quality very fast of this.
Is this opensource ?
Everything will be released after i get some sleep!
Edit: for inpatients, I pushed the latest initramfs : https://github.com/project-voodoo/nsonsgs-initramfs

Not sure. Still more or less a noob dev. Not sure how difficult it its to adapt the gsm port for cdma. thoughts anyone?
Would definitely be interested in seeing this happen.

I have been obsessively following efforts at cyanogen forums and this forum... i am pretty on top of things, and i am NOT aware of any success taking kernels/roms/images from GSM and having them work on CDMA...damn right depressing
The problem is deeper than just kernel. There are fundamental issues as to why we're not already on 2.2...
I'd go into it, but this thread isn't about that. Plus, I am not a programmer, so I don't want to overstep my bounds.
It's significantly easier to port things on GSM versions of phones. We likely won't see it until at least Froyo is working on our devices, possibly later. This also shouldn't be in the Development forum...

I'd really like someone to help me understand (in noob terms) why porting is so hard for CDMA devices. Expect a thanks if you can explain it to me!
A thanks is what I am not after. It's that for anyone that has had this device since september this topic has been beaten to death.
Give this a read.
good day.

Well, thanks anyway. I haven't had the device since September.
I just wanted to remind anyone new to Fascinate Modding, that there is NO GINGERBREAD ROM for the SAMSUNG FASCINATE at this time.
So if you are itching to flash a ROM from a different phone. Please DO NOT BE MISLED by this thread and flash Gingerbread for a i9000.
You have a Galaxy S Variant, Not the Galaxy S phone.

[Q] Linux 3.4 Kernel of the N4

Hey dear XDA community I just watched a review of the (awesome) new N4 . And I just wanted to know whether anybody knows the things which are better at this version? I did believe that it would save some power but since the battery test of the prototype went bad... I'm a little bit confused about that... So what do you think?
(I know that it hasnt been released yet but maybe someone knows something so please dont blame me

Whatever it is, it's better, probably power efficiency improvements and speed improvements, the usual major stuff and a lot of other tiny things that I don't know.

Calling all G5 Devs

Development seems to be either dead or slow moving for this device... I have many years experience in the Android world and would like to offer my assistance. While I am unable to compile my own software/ROMs, I am very well versed with fixing issues and bug finding. Let me help you test? I'm not afraid to brick my device (tho I would like to avoid that if possible). Testing results turnaround time in the past has been within 24 hours or less. I use my phone daily for work and personal use so I'm consistently on it. Let's get this ball rolling! How can I help you?!

lol you're right, sir. sorry for posting non-sense in this thread.
I m really looking forward to seeing lg g5 developing community grow

Im glad someone got a thread going on this. I would just like someone to compile a kernel with overclock and screen mod. I have a powerful enough machine to run vmware as a buildbox and can run linux command but need someone with experience to simplify the process a bit.
Same. I'm relatively comfortable with linux and can have VM sandboxes running to test myself if I can get a G5 image to run in a VM.
Does anyone have the unlock.bin file that LG has given to the unlocked variants? I'd like to look through it.

I think really exciting times are coming our G5's way. This phone has great potential but it's so underrated. I had the op3 but G5 is much better.
We have resurrection remix, cm13, cm14 on the way, aicp, amazing fluence patch, genisys Rom and patch etc. I can see some more great development in the future
