Very low incoming voice on apps, voip - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have this huge problem.
On apps like Viber, Line, voip and other call applications there is very low voice that I can't hear them. But in normal calling there is no problem.
And I'm pretty sure all voices on phone are on their highest rate.
Can someone tell what problem is?

I dont use those, but I suspect the phone sees them as Media instead of Calls, and that is a different sound setting.
Settings > Device > Sound > Volume. Raise the Media volume if it's set to low. See if that makes a difference.

While in a call (VoIP) press a Volume Up button to the max position and see what type of volume are affected?
If it is not a media, try to increase media volume to the max.

I know these settings and I mentioned that all voices are on their highest. And I know how does it act but that's not the problem.
even when the call in on speaker, there is no difference.

Isn't there any solution for me?

Low Volume on Voice Command Announcing Calls

I really enjoy using Microsoft Voice Command especially for announcing the name of the incoming call. The problem i am having is that the volume is very low and i cannot hear it sometimes even with the system and phone volume set to the highest. I noticed that the incoming voice is actually lower then when it repeats things back to me like looking up contacts. anyone know how to fix this?

people on the other side of line complaint about low voice heard

hi..
I'm having a problem with my Jade. People complaining that they can't hear me well whenever I received/make calls...
This problem happened after I hard reset my phone.
I've set the volume to high.
Is there any possible solution for this? Is it hardware problem or software?
Thank you.

1) try to record your speech (as you would normally speak on the phone) and playback. See if it comes out reasonably clear. If it is then your mic is OK.
2) If (1) above is ok, it could be due to several reasons..
a) inter operator signal losses
b) receiver's speaker is having problem
c) receiver's having hearing problem, he needs to see the ENT specialist
c) receiver's in a noisy bus station or bowling alley
Volume control is for you, not for the receiver. Your db is transmitted to the receiver.
Try going to Settings > System > Microfone AGC and change the setting there.
I'm not sure what exactly it does, but certainly something microphone related...
Yes, definitely try this. It should automatically increase or decrease amplification of signal from microphone depending on the sound volume. Also make sure that the microphone hole is not covered by some dirt or your hand during the call.

hi...
seems like, despite everything I try, it is still the same...caller still complaining about the low voice heard, not only one, but nearly all of them..
if I were to flash back my ROM, will it resolve the problem?
thanks,

[Q] low volume in call

I have this problem.
when im in conversation, the volume is very low. but when im listening to music is much higher.
does anyone have this problem as well?
I know its not a reception problem, since i've tried to talk from same place to the same number (which is land line) with WM and with ANDROID.
I am experiencing the same problem. Maybe we need an Audio Gain driver.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I think in general Android in call volume is low.
I also experience this with Nexus One.
I did install WOW SRS on the HD2 WM rom and it seems to increase the volume of Android running on it.
Can someone confirm this on their devices?
do you feel diffrent in android as well or only in WM?
for me its low only in incoming calls but its good in outgoing calls, any idea why ? people said it a wenn known issue in android and has been solved here , i search a lot with no luck .

Same problem for me too.
I've noticed a similar problem with loudspeaker too, but in this case, disabling and enabling the loudspeaker during the call usually solves the problem.

You must have the ringer on. The rule of thumb is this.
If the speaker is on (playing something) when a call is made/received. There is low volume in call.
50/50 when you are dialing out. You have the dial touch tone disabled or there was enough time for the speaker to re-gain control (<---?) and thus the call volume is good.
I am praying this issue gets fix pronto.. ... I live in a very very noisy city and I can barely hear the earpiece.

well, my problem is in both calls, the volume for it is lower than WM volume
I guess there is no solution for it for now, might be better later (hopefully).
During the call turn speaker on then off real quick this will raise the volume for you
Hello
A simple solution that worked for me was... Settings>Sound Then turn off audible touch tones. Got this from another member the other day.

[Q] Samsung S4 No voice during call

Hi, All.
I have a Samsung S4 and from day 1 I have had this call problem.
When I make or receive calls, the person on the other end cannot hear my voice at all. I have disabled noise reduction both in the settings menu and have toggled it on/off during the call.
Now, I've done a few tests.
1) During calls the other person can hear noises that I simulate such as tapping on the table or tapping on the phone. I tested both the top (for noise cancellation?) microphone and lower microphone and the tapping noise is definitely louder on the lower microphone.
2) Voice works perfectly when using my headset. (Not a network issue)
3) Tested voice recording and it works fine. I spoke on the top of the phone and bottom of the phone (to see if it receives noise on the top microphone) and the voice is definitely louder when voice is coming from the bottom of the phone.
4) Voice command works fine.
5) Calls work find during speaker mode.
Now all I can think of is that this is a problem with my setting or this is a software issue.
Can anybody help me?
Thanks,

So I've factory reset my phone.
Results are I can now BARELY hear my voice SOMETIMES.
Like for example I try speaking in a completely silent environment, they only way the caller hears my garbled up voice is when I cup to phone my mouth.
This even won't work if I turn on the noise reduction feature.
So I'm guessing there is still some noise reduction feature on apart from what we can activate/deactivate during the call and in the settings menu.
Is my voice that ugly that it's now considered to be noise!? I've been told that I have a radio voice

If possible b4 showing it to service centre flash a firmware using Odin and reset the device and then see if the problem is gone check the voice b4 installing any apps etc

Mic gives low sound during calls

Phone model: ASUS_X01BDA (Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2)
Build number: PKQ1.WW_Phone-16.2017.2005.092-20200518
Please someone give any type of solution in details. The on call mic volume killing me. I have to put the earphone mic fully on my lip for the other person to hear me!
I used app from play store to check and I guessed it right, while mic mode was on 'Direct' and I recorded from usual earohone mic distance, then the sound was, loud and clear. But when I recorded in the same condition in the mode 'Communication', then I barely can hear me. Now after this test, I am sure the problem is in the feature 'microphone noice cancellation' for calls only. So as I identified the issue, is it impossible to fix? Can I totally disable the function 'noice cancellation' on my device? Please help. I am in desperate need of a fix during this covid pandemic as many many important meetings are happening online.
Mic is loud enough on the general phone call app though!!!
But very low on any online call like messenger call / whatsapp call / discord call / google meet call / zoom call. But if I record on messenger or whatsapp, it sounds alright. I repeat, recorded general sound is OKAY but not when on call on any app other than general phone call app. Tested same earphone on same apps from an old samsung phone too. No problem found there at all! Sounded clear while using samsung during messenger call / whatsapp call / discord call / google meet call / zoom call. So don’t say it's mic's fault. It isn’t. It is software handling problem as far as I can understand. Please show me a way fast.
exactly the same problem i have been facing since long , but discovered just a week ago

mine is completely opposite. I have to put on headphones to hear anything. One day I handed to my phone to someone, and he said there is no sound. When I put on my ear, I understood what the problem was. It is actually inaudible to any normal person. it is on stock rom, unrooted. Also the problem peaks if someone call from to my jio sim, using a MI phone. There is no problem in sim, cause I switched mine to another phone and it was fine, sound was cristal clear.
