How to change the data icon? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys.
I just rooted my device and flashed the CloudyG3 ROM (which is working great in my phone) in an LG G2, D801 model from T-Mobile.
I have only made little changes using G2 Xposed app but a change that I rrally want to make is in the data icons that are shown in the status bar.
LTE is not available in my current location, but in home I get HSPA/HSPA+ with good speeds. My phone used to have a 4G icon when connected to H/H+ and 2G when in EDGE. Now, with this ROM I only get E and H (even not H+) in the status bar. The speeds are as good as they should be but it's about the icon shown.
Do you know an app or a way to change it?
Thanks! ??

First off check the lg g2 forums for the best answers (your in the HTC g2 forum)
Second know it could be an issue with the ROM or radio/baseband/modem or could just be the way the icons are displayed. Really you can put any icon in there you want and it won't mean 4g, so test your speeds before and after ROM flashes to be sure

Yes, sorry, I didn't notice the forum I selected. Anyways thanks for your answer. The ROM displays those icons, it's not a mistake, but I'd like to change them.

[Q] Wifi Signal Indicator Style

Hi all,
This might be a dumb question but I’ll give it a go anyway.
I'm running an AOKP nightly and under the AOKP ROM Control options<Statusbar<Signal<Wifi Signal Indicator Style there is an option to show the Signal as Text. You then get the Wifi signal displayed in your status bar as a percentage. Personally, this is perfect for me as I have a poor Wifi signal at work and its reassuring to see the strength of my connection at work.
Is there a way for me to get this same option in CM 10.1 or any other Custom ROM? If it is available in CM10.1 where do I enable it?
Alternatively, is there a standalone app that will allow my Wifi signal to be reflected as text/percentage in my Statusbar?
At the moment only Ican find this option in AOKP. Or am I looking in the worng place?

I am not sure if this would help you but you may give it a try.
download ROM toolbox.
now go to the status bar icons option.
now choose what icon you want for WiFi from the list.
if you are lucky then you may get one with percentage..
Hi dagger,
I tried your suggestion but unfortunately ROM Toolbox does not have the percentage or text option under the Wifi statusbar icons.
Bad luck for you...

Yes I know!
Oh well I will just stick with AOKP. Hopefully it will become available on CM 10.1.

[Q] Remove carrier name from Notifcation Bar ?

Hello,
My carrier has a very long name (Bouygues Telecom), which takes a lot of place in the notification Bar.
Therefore, as soon as I have more than 3 notifications icons, it gets overloaded
Is there a way to remove the carrier name from the notification Bar ?
I checked the build.prop, but didn't seem to find something related (I'm on clean ROM for AT&T 1.1).
Thanks in advance.

There're mods for this in the ATT Development section...
Hi.
Seems I have bad eyes then, since out of the 9 topics, could not find one about my concern..

[Q] Verizon LG G2

Hello! I am curious on a feater of the LG G2 im heartset on it and my only concern is that you cannot get the brightness toggle in your notification bar? I am aware that the ATT version and international have it out of the box and was curious if there is an option anywhere in the phone to activate it on the verizon G2?
Thanks in advance!
I have not seen a mod for it yet. I also like having the slider on the notification bar or status display but it's because I never use the auto brightness on other phones.
The G2 has an adjustable auto brightness. I set the auto brightness to the level I like and I have not messed with it since. The adjustable auto brightness is a rarely talked about but very useful feature of the G2 for me. It is a little bit slow making it's adjustments but that doesn't bother me. Overall, it does an excellent job of keeping the brightness at a level I would pick if I were adjusting it myself.
Mine has it...

Mine has the toggle too, but since the other carriers have the slider and Verizon doesn't, I was guessing the question was about that.
Yeah after reading your post I became confused about what the question was. It wouldn't let me edit my post though.

Verizon has it. Its not on the bar by default, IIRC, but you can edit the bar contents and enable the button, along with a whole slew of others. You can take off things like QuickRemote, QSlide, etc. as well, which some people have said they don't want.
There are so many settings and tuning methods for this phone, I haven't needed any mods at all yet. The only one I'm thinking of doing is the nav bar mods to hide when not needed or change button combinations.
Thanks!
thanks for the help guys
How?

GPS Notification Bar Icon ONLY when in use?

I can't seem to find anything. Is there a mod out there that lets the GPS Icon show ONLY when the GPS is actively being used? I don't know if anyone is like me or not, but I like to leave GPS enabled for on demand usage, but I do NOT like having a all or nothing GPS icon. I like knowing when the GPS is active or not, but I don't want to stare at the bullseye icon 24/7.
Anyone know of such a mod? I was hoping it would be in G2 Xposed (I just tonight found that you can hide the 4G/3G notification when Wifi is active) but no such luck.
Mods, if this is the wrong section for this question, my apologies. I figured it was more of a Q&A item than a development item.

I fubar'd. I meant to take this down. I was confusing the E911 icon with the GPS Icon. I haven't seen an E911 Icon for two years now and it threw me.

How to switch from LTE icon to 4G icon ?

Hi everyone,
My question : How to switch from LTE icon to 4G icon in the notification bar ?
I'm on N910C with 5.1.1 WanamLite, unfortunately the setting in wanam xposed doesn't work nor the gravitybox one.
Is there a way to do this in the build.prop ? I know it was possible on the Galaxy S4 in the past.
Or any other way editing the files but which files ?
Thanks
LTE is 4G. So which every icons shows on your device means that you have a high speed connection.
Thanks, but I know that, LTE = 4G but I prefer 4G icon (depending on which ROM you install on your phone, ie on official ROM it was showing 4G icon) and on mine it's showing LTE atm and I would like to have 4g icon instead, just because I like it much
There is an xposed module for that, just search for '4g/lte indicator switcher' in the xposed installer
