I am on att and want to buy S4 . But the new phones that are being given out seems to be booloader locked. I want a device that I can install roms of my choice.
Can some one answer some of the questions I have, please ?
1- Is s4 fully compatible with ATT Lte bands ? ( Seems there are few mods to be done to get it right. Am I right ? )
2- Are ASOP based S4 roms for international version compatible with S4 GE ?
3-Are TW based S4 roms for international version compatible with S4 GE ?
4- Or Can I find an ATT version that is bootloader unlocked ?
Thanks
AP
I can only answer 1 and 2. Works fine with ATT. There is no bootloader unlock for the ATT S4, however, if you can find one with MBD or MDL firmware you can bypass it with Loki to install custom ROMs.

Bootloader Unlocked Version
To answer #4, there is a developer version available from AT&T. Outright price as is G-i9505G.
It will have Touchwiz and all Samsung bloatware where GE version has what appears (UI) to be AOSP and is already on 4.3.
Can anyone tell me if the Galaxy S5 Verizon developer edition will be able to take general GS5 ROMs (AOKP, Omni, CM) and:
1. Still work on Verizon network?
2. Remain unlocked?
Thanks!
Flashing a rom will not somehow lock the bootloader. I'm pretty sure they'll need to be ported to Verizon to work fully.

Are there any Custom Roms available for the Verizon Galaxy S5 G900V? If not, are there going to be any coming out in the near future?
Hi,
I'm looking for some information about which variants of Galaxy S5 are available in EU (SM-G900F, SM-G900T/A... any other ones?) and what the differences between them are. Are there any variants that were not rooted yet? Are any of the available variants are likely to receive less support from the modding community (which, if I'm not mistaken, was the case with 3G only variant of Galaxy S4).
I will most likely be purchasing S5 within next few weeks and since I cannot stand TW rooting and flashing a custom ROM will be the first thing I'll do so I would like to know if there's anything that I should be aware of.
Thanks!
Is it because lack of interest or just now being developed on?
The international models always see more love custom ROM wise then the other models like the Canadian variant. I've got a stock Canadian ROM in the T-Mobile section if you wanted to check it out it doesn't have much to it, pretty much just rooted stock, but I will be releasing a Nougat based one when we get an update to 7.0! Cheers!

Hello to the XDA Community, I recently made this account and would like to get some help from the great people here.
I own a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S7 G930V. I, unfortunately, found out the hard way that it could not be unlocked because Samsung decided to lock down the bootloader on it (something that they were a bit more lenient with on the Galaxy S8, I think?). Either way, I was reading this XDA article (https://www.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7-bootloader-lock-explained-you-might-not-get-aosp-after-all/) about the bootloader, and it basically says that, despite the OEM Unlock option being available under Developer Options, nothing that doesn't have some sort of official signature can be flashed to the device, so it's basically pointless.
But, then I saw that LineageOS dropped official builds for the Galaxy S7. My only question, therefore, is: why would Lineage OS drop custom ROMS for a phone that cannot have anything flashed to it? Am I missing something? Not sure what I'm missing. Just to clear things up again: I have the Verizon Galaxy S7 G930V (Snapdragon). I am also using a T-Mobile SIM in the phone, not sure if that matters or not, however.
So, what I assume is that somehow people were able to get past the bootloader and that is the reason that LineageOS released official builds of their ROM. If that's the case, is there a method/tutorial for, first, unlocking the bootloader and rooting the Verizon G930V, and then installing the custom ROM successfully? Also, I see that LineageOS does not have a build for the G930V specifically, so would it brick my phone if I installed the build for the G930S, for example?
Thank you guys! Bare with me if I completely missed something please!

There are numerous variants of the GS7 and GS7E that have a bootloader that can be unlocked. The Verizon version is not one of them. There is no way currently (and likely ever) to unlock the bootloader on the Verizon version of this phone. This is the case with almost every Verizon phone. People are finding this out the hard way with the new Google Pixel 2's...all versions other than the Verizon one you can unlock the bootloader. It's a Verizon thing and it won't change. You'll need to buy an unlocked phone capable of running on Verizon's network bands if you want this kind of stuff on Big Red.
