[Q] vCards in Cyanogenmod - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Where is the ability to be able to send and receive vCards in Cyanogenmod? I love this ROM but with stock you can do this. I need to be able to do that so I can import them into my contacts. Someone texted me a vCard today and I could not even see it.

I found this post helpful.

Not at all because it does not send vCards. This is just like copy and pasting. I need to be able to send an receive vCards so I can import them into my Outlook at work.

HTC HD2: How to email business cards from your phone??

help please... important... in the model HTC HD2, how to email business cards from your phone??
Do you really mean emailing a business card or do you mean how to send a business card? If the latter then see page 101 of the English version of the manual.

lol just take a picture and send it as an atached jpg file.
Or even easier just input your signature on the email, or send them by sms
The question is about emailing contacts as vcards so that they can be added to recipients' contacts in Outlook. SMS, jpg screenshots and other silly options like that are not suitable in many cases. I certainly don't want to send vcards as MMS attachments to business contacts.

I have faced the same issue and could not find a way to send Vcards trough PPC outlook.
However I found way go arround. I have exported all my contacts on my Desktop in Vcard format and save them in a folder (i.e Vcards) in my PPC's memory card.
On my PPC I use Resco explorer, when I need to send a Vcard I open the Vcard folder in my memory card and click send by email.
hope it helps you. cheers
If you've set up the "Me" contact correctly, just go into your "all people" list and click the arrow in your me item.
I don't use this, but is that what you're referring to?
nope this isn't it anyway thanks for the info guys... I hope someone out there knows >.< or maybe it isn't in the feature of this phone................
vCard Expert available from windows phone marketplace let me save all my phone contacts into a single vcard vcf file. Runs fine on my windows mobile 6.5 HD2.
Then i used my gmail account to send that file as an attachment. Also used the program to generate multiple vcf files to use with Outlook.
I'm using a workaround for this.
1st/ start a send vcard (MMS)
2nd/ the card is stored in folder /temp. Filename seems always to be 'me.vcf'
3rd/ attach it to a normal email using whatever kind of file explorer !!
Any kind of better solution is welcomed !!

SMS import

I am going to receive my Nexus One tomorrow. I currently use a Nokia E71 and would like to transfer my SMS's from my phone to the Nexus one. Is there a way to import SMS messages?
Nokia's s/w allows me to import my messages into a csv file. I do not mind writing a script to import the csv file to the proper format and releasing it for free.
Any help will be appreciated.

Ability to send vCards in Cyanogenmod 11

CM needs to create the ability to send and receive vCards via SMS. This is very important especially when you use your phone alot for business purposes. If I want to import a contact into my Outlook I can't. I have to manually type it in. Can't CM install this feature?

If you install Google Hangouts and use that as your SMS app, you can do it. In People, select a contact, then go to the menu and choose Share > Hangouts. Choose a 'hangout' (basically an existing chat thread), or tap 'new message' to enter a phone number or select a recipient. The contact details will then appear as a .vcf attachment.
You can send the .vcf by other means - by email, by Bluetooth, to your Dropbox, etc - using the same Share command.
