I'm currently on MF3 but stupidly I deleted at&t apps and bloatware which means I can't update update to 4.4.2. I want to know if there's anyway that I can restore stock MF3 without Odin. I don't have access to a computer
anyone?

Basically looking to go back to default factory settings, don't have the stock recovery anymore or a custom one, do not see if there's a official firmware that I can run
Would anyone be able to direct me in the right direction
Thanks
So your recovery is gone? Same thing happened to me before. Unfreeze any apps (if you froze any) take your phone to Best Buy and say Kies broke your phone. They can re-flash your phone which will unroot it and you get your recovery back. Then install the update.

Yes use the MF3 files in Odin and if you like root than re root and install Supersu pro to use survival mode and take the OTA Update and it will keep root for you . completely safe
ROOTED ATT MK2 using Tapatalk
So I rooted my galaxy s4 AT&T and I rooted it while on mf3. Is there a way for me to upgrade without breaking my phone? I don't care about keeping root. Just need to update! Thanks!
Post 2 has everything you need to root your devce and install a new Rom.

If you want to just update and not care about rerooting ever again, you can download the stock rom and install it via odin. It will unroot your phone in the process.

Right. Just remember that you lose any advantages for rooting that MF3 has over MK2.
I am trying to unroot my AT&T Galaxy S4 back to stock so I can apply the OTA updates. Currently I am rooted and running MF3 and cannot apply any of the OTA updates, fails at 25%
So if I want to unroot do I Odin the MF3 tar files or would it be better to Odin back to the MDL version? Then I should be able to apply the updates?
Why don't you just Odin the nb1 tar files and forget the ota?

I thought about doing that but was not sure if it was possible since since I was rooted. Was afraid of bricking the phone. So if I Odin NB1, how do I unroot the phone? Do I need to do anything before flashing that tar file?

Just flash in Odin. It'll put the new firmware on and remove root. You don't have to unroot first

Thanks that worked!! I have the NB1 on the phone now.
Well, this is my problem: Last day I was trying to delete carrier name from top left notifications bar, so I found a thread that shows how to do it, specifically modifying 3 lines of build.prop system file. After doing this my phone won't boot up anymore. It shows Samsung Galaxy S4 logo an then stays black.
My phone has stock firmware i337UCUFNC1, and rooted with towelroot.
Actually I am only able to get to stock recovery and download mode.
I've tried some options but getting no results since bootloader its locked I guess.
I made a backup of the original build.prop, but unfortunately I had no external sdcard at that moment, so the backup its on internal memory.
Any ideas where to get this solutions? Adb? Flashing bootloader?
There's always Odin. You're not going to be able to use adb with the stock recovery.

Thanks for your answer.
Well, I bet I did'nt use the proper stock firmware via odin, it fails at begining. I've tried with MDB and NB1 stock but get fail after NAND writes start (Auth). Until now I Can't find NC1 stock to flash it.
Any other suggestion to bring my phone back?

I have an unlocked SGH - I337UCUAMDL running on 4.2.2. I tried updating it OTA but it failed. I am assuming it was because it is unlocked.
Is there an alternate version of this that I can download and flash through Odin?

If you have mdl why do you want to upgrade the firmware? You currently can use twrp and flash roms based on 4.4.2. If you upgrade with Odin or ota you'll lose that ability for ever.

In that case, look in the general forum for the nb1 Odin flashable tar file and flash that in Odin. You can then ota up from there.

1. Rootable is just that, you'll be able to root it using towelroot. The normal nb1 is not rootable. The nc1 firmware is rootable with towel root too. So you could flash the non-rootable, then ota to nc1 and root it
2. If you're sim unlocked flash with Odin will not lock it.
