I have to swap my phone, one problem is that you cannot connect the phone to a computer.
Can I remove TWRP and restore the original recovery without ODIN? Maybe flash the firmware if there is a zip version using recovery?
I belive toy can use Mobile odin. There may also be a flashable zip.

I swapped my phone, rooted and TWRP installed. Not one phone call. Not one charge. That was on AT&T.
But if you wanna be safe, do what he^^ suggested.

I think I should try that just to be safe. Do I need to flash the entire rom ( Im on amdl) or just the stock recovery?
Just the stock recovery. Best thing to do is to search the forums for triangle away, flash your stock recovery after running triangle away. Follow the prompts for that, btw. Then use SuperSU's built in unroot.

I337UCUAMDL_I337ATTAMDL_I337UCUAMDL_HOME.tar.md5
mobile odin is saying that the device isnt compatible? It asks for a dump, I did that and it said successful.
I restarted the phone, and it still says the same thing?
Looks like mobile odin is not supported for the AT&T Model.

You could extract the recovery.img from the tar and then create a zip file from that. I think it would work, but I've never tried it.
I guess the only thing I can do now is either find an AMDL firmware or stock recovery that I can use a zip file to flash it using TWRP.....
Has anyone seen this anywhere?

Sammobile.com has the stock firmware. You'll have to register but it's free. You'll download a zip file. Use 7-zip to extract the .tar.md5 file from it. Use that in odin.

You should be ok, I don't think they really check anything. You might do more harm right now than its worth. I've sent two devices into them. Got a refurb back. Your biggest worry is it'll probably be mf3 firmware.

Yes, I did.
Either they didnt see it or they didnt care.
Hi everyone, I have been a fan of the xda website for a long time and you guys have always helped me solve my problems with my phones.
This is the first time I need something that I havenĀ“t been able to find. Forgive me if it is already answered but I cannot find it.
Basically my problem is that I was trying to rom my phone for the first time and it failed.... miserably. I did not brick my phone; it still works, starts up and functions normally except for a few key things: a few programs do not function any more, most notably the wifi, contacts and dialer app, the lock screen widgets and some others.
What I did was installed safestrap, then downloaded the gravitron rom. I put everything in the right place, created the extra rom slot, then is where the noob came in. I forgot to switch over to the rom slot and instead installed over the main rom... Wow much noob, right?
Anyway, what I want to know is if there is any way to salvage my phone? I am on baseband mf3 and with the research I have done, I have concluded I am screwed until odin files for mf3 come out. But if there is any way I can get my phone back to normal I would appreciate it so very much.
Thank you all in advance for your help. I apologize if i have left anything out but I will give any info on request.
No love for the guy with busted wi-fi?
Please help me! I'm killing my data plan... and it's really annoying to not be able to use my dialer or contacts.

Sounds like you're on mf3 firmware? If so, I'd flash that firmware and start over. Google mf3 tar files xda
If on MF3 you will need to flash the modules provided in the development thread. If on MK2, you will need to manually place them because there is no flashable modules yet AFAIK. No need to start from scratch unless you want it back to complete stock.

I am on mf3 baseband, i forgot to add that to the op.
I have tried flashing them with odin already, it instantly fails. Though I did it again just now to be sure with the same results.
Any other suggestions?
You don't flash the modules in Odin... You flash them in the SS recovery.

Is there any easy way to tell without being able to boot fully? There isn't anything immediately obvious on google. I'm trying to help out a friend, his phone doesn't get past the boot animation anymore and he doesn't know which version he has. I can boot into download/recovery modes but don't see anything that screams MF3, MK2 or any of the others.
Updates: I can get to sideload but don't know if I can install any Roms through sideload without a custom recovery. The recovery right now is stock 3e I think.

He was on android 4.3 so does that only correspond to MK2? As far as I can tell it does.

Okay so here is my problem:
-Bought AT&T phone off ebay Hong Kong. Using phone in Australia.
-SGH-I337
-4.3 MJ6
-Rooted it.
-Installed Safestrap.
-Backed up with Safestrap.
-Flashed GOLDENEYE v49.1
-*BRICKED*
-Safestrap recovery is GONE
-Stock recovery and download modes BOTH still work. When booted, the phone gets stuck on the Samsung logo/pulsating blue LED.
I've spent around 5 hours reading everything I can, but can't seem to find much regarding 4.3 MJ6.
Do I need to flash a 100% stock 4.3 MJ6 ROM to get up and running again? Does anybody know where I can find that ROM?
I've been using custom ROMs on HTCs for a couple of years, this is my first Samsung.
Thanks in advance.

I have acquired an S4 i337 from At&t, it's on the MF3 4.2.2, i have used towel root to root it and installed safestrap as well...
i wanted to upgrade to 4.4, should i just odin the firmware onto it by putting it into download mode? which 4.4 is best for it in terms of stability and stuff...? i think only stock touchwiz is recommended since i don't know whether it's bootloader is locked or not...
second
can i root the 4.4 through towel root easily or is there a problem with it... which in your opinion is the best for the i337? I won't be able to downgrade again yeah?

Yes you can with Odin, but do your know the bootloader version of 4.2.2 you're on? If you're on mdb or mdl you probably don't want to update. On 4.2.2 you can use twrp or cwm custom recoveries and flash any roms your want. Once you're on 4.4.4 you'll be limited.
