Hey Guys and Gals
After just 6 months, Sony has released its latest flagship device the Sony Xperia Z3. With this we also see the release of the Z3 Compact and Z3 Tablet Compact. This series adds PS4 remote play, something that could prove very interesting, especially if it can be ported to other devices. Lets take a look at the specifications of the Xperia Z3. Feel free to comment

I'm just confused why they kept the 801, and not the 805. I love the PS4 remote play and would love to see a port of that.

I'm thinking wonderful, but it's sad that I have to buy another device so quickly so I can get Band 12 support. I happen to love my G3, particularly the rear buttons, but a waterproof device has some appeal too, and I hear Sony has a KnockOn knock-off....yes that sounds weird.
I suppose I should still be able to get a lot for my G3 if I do sell it, and there's an XPosed module to make the Sony 5x5 like LG does. Still, side buttons seem so....primitive.
Looks Good enough to kill the iphone 6. does it have an IR blaster?

Is it true Sony stopped using the Anti Shatter Films? I have the Z1s, I heard with the Z2 and onward they stopped using them.
If so, how does the dragon tail glass hold up? As good (or better) than Gorilla Glass?

Apparently no infrared port, judging by the spec page. Also, no USB 3.0 ?
I love How Sony fans are not as demanding as Samsung fans, Z3 is a q1 2014 device yet no one is complaining. On the note 4 forums, Samsung is doomed because they're using latest and fastest soc with best gpu. Go figure

probably because only 13 people in the US can actually get one.. if/when xperia come back to more than 1 US carrier then the device will likely get more scrutiny.. Americans tend to be more vocal and cautious when it comes to spending a fortune on gadgets when there isn't much change from previous iterations to justify buying another device.

My z2 is my first sony android, i had samsungs previously........ z3 doesn't seem different enough from my z2 to warrant even consider buying, especially as im only 5 or 6 months into a 2 year contract. Only thing that interests me on z3 is ps4 remote play but at that price id be better off buying another ps4 for the other room lol

There are rumours that Sprint and Verizon will be getting it as well. T-mobile is confirmed to be getting it.

I have a Z2 and I am disappointed that Sony did not go 5.5 inches for screen.
Still getting one in copper. Get bored of a phone that lasts me more than 6 months...
Does the Z3 have a lanyard hole? I don't see it in any of the pictures.

The Note 4 isn't faster because of the 2k display.
In fact, the Z3 will be faster due to better software.
I'm interested in this, more so than I ever was for the Z2.
Sony is doing it right - by not jumping on the QHD bandwagon, they avoid having the problems of a QHD display while still retaining enough screen sharpness to look almost as good as QHD. Anybody who says that they can spot an immediate difference between 1440p and 1080p on a 5"~ screen is lying, or doesn't know what they're talking about.
Other points of interest:
LCD panel, not crappy AMOLED
3100mah battery - huge for a device of this size
32gb memory option with micro SD support up to 128gb - 32gb is enough for everyday use in case you don't like micro SD cards, or your micro SD card fails on you (like mine did a few weeks ago)
waterproof / dustproof
beautiful design
The only real con I can think of is the micro usb flap - with repeated use, it is possible that flap might fall off. I had such a flap on my Samsung GS4 Active, and it gave up the ghost about a week ago - snapping off in my fingers as I removed it. Fortunately there might be a solution where you can buy a USB charging/data cable with a magnetic attachment, to attach to the Xperia's dock charging pins...

Good point. Probably that would be easier to use with a case as well. Most cases will probably block the flap from opening.

Yeah, a magnetic charging cable such as this one has several advantages over a regular micro usb cable. For one, it attaches magnetically so you don't have to fiddle with the cable, and it can attach even when you're driving and need to charge your phone in the phone holder. It avoids repeated use of the plastic flap, so the flap will only have to be removed once in a blue moon to access the micro sd card.
If I get the opportunity to buy a Z3 32gb in Canada, and I know that there will be XDA support for it, then I would be greatly tempted to upgrade to it. The only thing holding me back is the knowledge that the new Nexus phone (whatever it is) will be announced soon-ish, and I would greatly prefer the latest and greatest stock Android over anything else.
I'd be going for the T-mobile model, with WiFi calling, Band 12, and hopefully it has VoLTE as well. Particularly with the WiFi calling, one just has to accept being stuck with the OEM ROM.

we shall see, but so far the rumors don't seem to be holding any water.. and unlike t-mobile, sprint has not posted any thing on their website news regarding it.. yet they quickly posted about how they are getting the note 4 / edge. IMO if they were getting the Z3 they would be as quick as tmobile to post news bragging about it because it would be huge news considering they never really carried a sony phone before.

We're talking Sprint here, how much do you expect? They can't anger Samsung can they?
Clearly I don't think very highly of Sprint, then again, they seem to be more concerned with Huawei and ZTE anyway.

What do you guys think of the new Chinese phone that supports USA carriers?
You can view the specs here:

It's about the size of the Droid DNA, but better. I'm actually thinking of getting this. Doesn't have SD Card but has 16GB and 32GB Version! Great price, and a premium product.
Bad thing is......you have to buy it via western union and/or wire transfer. They do accept Paypal over $300. They sent me this:
For avoid credit card fraud,we don't accept payments for product 300$ or more by Paypal or by credit cards. payments for product 300$ or more must be paid by bank transfer or Western Union MoneyGram. For more information, please visit : http://www.fastcardtech.com/article-9-Payment+Methods.html

Looks good on the paper. 1080p for a phone is an overkill if you ask me with today's battery technology. I bet this phone has major draws.
I would consider it if the power button were on the side, I almost never use two hands with my phone and this would annoy me to no end.

The only thing which bothers me, as a previous Tab 7.7 owner, the lack of software support, I may even sacrifice some hardware stuff for better official or xda community support potential. As far as I see it now the DNA, a major brand product, is nowhere near the Nexus devices in all the development and ROM hacking fuss. Oppo is moving to the global market, thus the good software support is implied but yet to be confirmed.
Actually, the size of the OPPO Find 5 is nowhere near the gargantuan HTC DNA despite sporting the same size screen thanks to an edge-to-edge screen and minimal wasted space at the top and bottom:
HTC DNA: 141 x 70.5 x 9.7 mm (5.55 x 2.78 x 0.38 in)
Oppo Find 5: 129 x 65 x 6.9 mm (5.08 x 2.56 x 0.27 in) <---smaller than HTC One S
The key here is the middle number, at 65 mm wide, it will be VERY easy to do one handed operations. This is a huge HUGE attraction for me as I'm sick of all these phlabets/phlaptops that HTC, Samsung, LG, and others are producing. Increasing screen size is one thing, but the phones are getting so enormous that it becomes very uncomfortable to use. It's ridiculous.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. Since this phone is supporting US Carriers with a breeze, will there be XDA Dev willing to work on this phone? That would also be a plus when getting this pone.

Whoaahh! Didn't know it was smaller than the OneS! But I knew it was about the size of the DNA. Thanks for doing the conversion!!
The thing I hate, and the LG G2x/O2x did this, was the hardware keys. Why so big? But your right, phones are getting bigger, and bigger is only good for people with big hands. Medium size hands like phones in the range of 4 - 4.7 inches. The DNA did it right by making it longer instead of wider, and I'm glad Oppo is understanding that. Hopefully the S4 and new upcoming phones get it. Keep the big phone size to the Note's.

These specs are for a different phone mate.. it clearly states that it refers to a 4.5 inch phone with 720p screen... The dimensions are still impressive to be sure but nowhere near to what a 5 inch would be if they were able to fit it in just 65mm of width. It would imply a total absence of bezel as in *nil*, I don't think such a tech exists yet, true edge to edge is a decade away I'm afraid. I'd be happy to be proved wrong though...
BTW same applies on the existence of micro SD slot, it probably doesn't have one, at least the company doesn't hint that anywhere (sadly microsd slots seem to go the way of the dodo)...
So to recap, "hold on your horses", it'd probably be a thinner slightly cheaper DNA and given that it is a chinaphone I don't think many would be convinced... it's a good offering to be sure but nothing groundbreaking... again I hope to be proved wrong, if I do I would be the first in line to buy this phone (hate phablet sizes, love big screens and big memories)...
I updated the OP. It does not have SD Card but has 16GB and 32GB version! I am thinking of getting this phone

This is actually the first Oppo device heading to the United States support T-Mobile, AT&T, and Simple Mobile. It won't get the over rated advertisement like the GS3, but it is definitely a better phone, in my opinion. Official Software updates, better camera, fast, premium product, NFC.
I have nothing against the GS3 besides the width of it, and the material of the phone is plastic. Otherwise its a great phone. But hopefully XDA will have some ROM support on this phone as its coming to the United States.

Yes a nicer material would be nice, but we all seem to use cases made out of the same material to protect our investment.....so no need to waste extra money on finer materials to cover them up. Nice materials such as glass/aluminum are not add strong or resilient to damage.
I also am not bashing the oppo, seems like a nice phone and the more high end devices, we all win. I'm an android guy, I'm not band stuck, however I'm drawn to Samsung's...HTC is also nice, but on big red they haven't brought anything to the table I would rather have than my gs3. That being said if Verizon would have had the one x I'm not sure which way I would have gone......really nice phone!

Not sure about the battery life but CloverTrail (not +) is superb energy-efficient according to Anandtech. We can underclock it for better battery life (because it's so strong)

Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Lol community acceptance. It's living an alternative lifestyle with that diamond pattern.
It's kind of hard to compare the Gnote2 with this since it is of course newer and won't be released untli halfway into 2013 and even longer for western countries, or not at all since there are currently no immediate plans. Otherwise, the specs and hardware are quite ahead of the Gnote2. Much slimmer body, and one built from steel and polycarbonate and looks 100x more well built than the galaxy s3 and note2. There's not a single galaxy phone I've used recently that hasn't had a loose backcover and felt like it was falling apart. The screen is also 1080p, better than 720p, and looks like a high quality IPS screen. I like more natural and accurate colors, and the brightness is better for outdoors. The processor is too early for anyone to call, but the exynos/snapdragon that the note2 uses was already last gen when the nexus 4 came out, so any new phones since then that are competitive with an s4 pro will be faster than note2, such is life in the smartphone world. The camera looks to use Sony's new sensor, which will most likely be better than the note2. You can also turn off the lenovo skin, supposedly, and get the stock android experience, maybe. IT's better in almost all respects, but it is a newer, unreleased phone that so far has poor availability outside of asian countries so if you were thinking of picking up a phone right now, the note2 is better than a non-existent one.
I swear you guys get distracted by anything shiny...
Lenovo would not spill any details on pricing or availability, though the phone should first come to China later this year. The K900 runs on GSM and 3G UMTS networks, but it does not support 4G. That will diminish its appeal in 4G-rich markets like the United States.

Still note 2 software owning other competitors. Yeh competitors hardware is newer/better but without right software you wont be satisfied...

Lol. Comparing a current phone to a just announced one is one thing. Comparing A just announced phone that has physical form and is press ready with a release date, to the pure speculation by certain samsung fans on a samsung forum, well, that statement stands for itself. The chance of the Note3 getting "unbreakable" glass is the same as the Note2's chance of getting an "unscratchable" ceramic body. But reality is always full of cheap shiny plastic. The octa-core processor is also pure speculation at this point, if it even comes out this year, and 70% power savings is really pure marketing baloney that no one should believe. The other specs you mentioned, plenty of current and just announced smartphones have. It's really nothing special, but expected. The k900 haas them, except for the removable battery. I'd rather Samsung get on the non-removable bandwagon, since they seem to be unable to make a backcover worth a damn. I really hope that day never comes!
I won't buy a phone that doesn't allow me to carry and use spare batteries.

It will be increasingly hard to compete with sub 7mm phones and still have a semi-solid build and removable cover.

Why Would any one buy a note 3 without any of those upgrades and it is highly possible that majority of those specs will find their way in the next iteration of not all. Samsung has been ruling the market because of their rapid turnover of devices and hence they will continue to push the limits. ..hardware and software wise. ..and the competition will make sure they are on their toes
Samsung and ARM have been working on the big. Little chip for some time now and they both have been reported to be surprised by the power saving you get with it. .. though in final practical use. ..how good it would be have to be seen

I'm concerned about the 32gb coupled with no sd slot. They're putting 4k video recording capability on there (great!) but it seems limited without adequate storage capacity. Not a big fan of cap buttons. I'm also unsure about the difference a quad hd display makes on a 5.2" screen and more importantly if it's worth the tradeoff in battery life.
Other than those things I'm loving this phone. I'm a big moto fan and can't wait to see it in stores.
it is sad that its not going to have ext sd. i wasted my money on a 64gb extreme SD. Well ill just put it in my nexus 9. Really hope the turbo goes to 64gb internal though. Specs sound awesome i just wish it had a K1 64 bit in there, im sure android 5.0 and the 805soc will be extremely fluid, i just dont want to get it then a month later here that devs are really unleashing the potential of 64bit socs. Most importantly for me is the long battery life and awesome camera. 21 mp sounds nice so hopefully it will take some amazing photos and be quick. OIS better be there too. My GS4 takes awesome photos in HDR i just wish it was snappier. Love the fact they went with 5.2 qhd, perfect moto! If they want this thing to sell out then they need at least a 5mp front facing and an awesome price point. Most importantly, dont you dare put all that bloat in there!
Do you know the status of 5.0? That is my determining factor.

why would 5.0 be the determining factor??? Even if the phone ships with 4.4.4 it will probably be the first device (maybe second to the Moto X) that will receive the update....
im holding out hope that it ships with 5.0...but i would imagine it would only be maybe a month or so before it is updated...it will be updated before any non-Moto devices get 5.0...

the 2013 Moto Droids were basically the first phones on 4.4...the Droids run as close to stock android as you can get without being stock they get updated crazy fast...
It has an ips display? Are you sure? The active display is pointless then. It would kill the battery.
Well, I couldn't be happier. I love the Nexus 6 specs, but i just don't want a phablet. So i was back to the same problem...M8, Moto X+1, z3v. But...they each are missing something i really wanted. I got my Galaxy Nexus 3 years ago...and when I got that I kept thinking the next phone would FINALLY be the phone, the one I've been waiting for. But, until now, nothing's come along. I'm FINALLY happy to pay full retail price to keep my unlimited data and get a sweet phone.
Downsides? I do wish it was IP67/8 rated, had the expandable memory, and a customizable back, but those are far from deal breakers. Now, i just want the price, release data, and if there'll be a play store version (I'm assuming highly unlikely...has there ever been a Droid in the Play Store?)
Not a play version, but there have been Dev. editions with unlockable bootloaders.

The waterproof coating they use (assuming its the same as the 2013 moto x) is really good. Other than having to wait for your speaker to dry out to sound normal you could basically dunk it under water without concern. I didn't do it...but other people did

I'm wondering this as well. What sources state that it will have an ips display?
The nexus 6 seems to have amoled, so it really only makes sense for Motorola to continue the trend and support their active display.
The only reason I wouldn't get this instead of the Nexus 6 is because I just can't have a locked bootloader and root that is virtually impossible to crack until it's too late ie. the Droid Ultra/Maxx and all devs have moved on to more developer friendly phones
If I'm right...don't they usually release/announce the Developer Verizon months later? Cause unless it'll be within a month of the initial release, I can't keep dealing with my GNex. I've run every ROM out there... and this thing needs to be euthanized

i am interested, but
probably won't buy it because
1- 5.1 inch screen if only it was 5.5
2- 3gb of ram i think it need 4 to compete
3- the camera that stood out of the device too much
4- there is no micro sd
I was interested too, but now that I see that the casing looks about identical to iphone 6 plus. Its mind boggling how a multimillion dollar company cant come up with their own ideas.

1. 5.5 does not make it a phablet, I wouldnt call the LG g3 a phablet. I just prefer that size
2. Your right top end phone are coming with only 3gb
3. Your right again, but for some I prefer a nude phone
4. No 128 is not enough anymore.
Not trolling, Just my opinion
1) I would consider 5.5 going into the Phablet area. Not that 5.5 would be bad, I just don't think this phone is trying to compete in that market. I'm sure the new Note will do that.
2) I was expecting 4 as well. All top phones are coming with 3. Just there way of cutting costs and leaving room for the next phone.
3) I PREFER a nude phone... but never do it out of plain fear. it's not even that I'm afraid of dropping it. I'm afraid of things in my pocket scratching it.
4) This is what is making me want to drop Samsung and go to HTC. I can live without a replaceable battery. I mean those portable battery chargers are cheaper than a batter and I have a few. I find it hard to give up the SD slot. @DSA - I agree that 128gb is enough storage for most. Honestly, 64gb is probably enough for me. For me though it's not the size, it's the functionality. Fight now, for every phone I've had, I've just popped out my MicroSD card, put it into the new phone and I was done. All my music, all my pictures, everything was there and ready. What if you drop your phone in water and it dies. I mean, total death, doesn't turn on at all. Before, you pull your MicroSD card out and all your date is still OK. Now, if your phone is dead, your data is gone. Who is backing up 128gigs to the cloud? With the lack of unlimited data, who wants to anyway. I don't want my pictures on the cloud.
So yea, the only killer for me is the SD card. Once again, it's not a size issue, it's just a functionality issue.
Another interesting thing with these phones... has anyone heard anything about a Developers edition coming out?

Considering the current iPhone generation was "inspired" by HTC's M7/M8 you could easily argue that Apple is having trouble coming up with their own ideas. Sure the double curved edges are utterly useless and diminish the S6's ergonomics but at least the design is unique.
I must say 5.1 " is the minimum i go for. I take the phone in a close look as my extension of contract approaches and i need something new to play. I will wait till i hold it in my hands before i decide. The rounded edges really looking nice on photos.

How is 3GB not enough? What other phone has more?
The camera has stood out for a while, most people uses cases so it won't be a big deal.
True, but many of us don't need more than 128GB of storage on a phone.

The older phones did. Your in denial if you don't see it. Samsung steals from Apple and Apple steals from Samsung. All these visual casing specs screams iPhone. The bottom half is the iPhone 6+, the glass back is the older iPhone. Lack of expandable SD screams apple. Shall I continue? Samsung sees how apple sells off crap and they are doing the same thing. I see 3 different versions of an IPhone in that pic. The only difference is the name Samsung is on the back. That's it.

Look everyone it's a samapple. Besides the main button in the front this looks 100% like the Samsung Galaxy 6. The 6 edge has curved edges. So take this same phone and curve the edges u get the op phone. Have a good night
it is enough to me I can't wait
I posted this on another thread but would like to add that the Chinese are going to smoke this phone. The new Lenovo's are just as good looking and better value and Meizu (with a cool $500m+ from Alibaba) will prove it. They already have a phone of similar dimensions and specs with a bigger screen. Here's my original post:
I'm having a hard time understanding what these phones offer for the price. I don't want or need Qhd. 1080p is perfect for me. I've not even looked at the M9 yet but I've read up on the S6. It's a great looking phone but my first problem is the Edge screen itself. How do you protect it? I don't care if it's Gorilla Glass 3 or 4, it will shatter. Simple. Samsung have essentially raised the screen above the bezels, so how do you protect it? The so called functionality of the Edge notifications is 'ho hum' in my opinion. My Nubia Z7 Max has that built into it's user optional split screen function with a standard screen. I love the looks, the new chip technology and many other things about the Edge but I'm simply not going to pay twice as much for 'innovations' that don't really have any advantage over phones that cost half the price.
It's obvious that 99% ranting have no technical background and can't see why Samsung did what they did and how it has set them so far apart from any other phone.
They kept the SD card and removable battery till technology caught up to the point where those 2 are not needed.
Battery = wireless charging + super fast charging when plugged in
SD card = bottleneck that has been removed. Now you can take 3 pictures in RAW format. A single picture is 25 MB. 3 pictures taken in RAW format saved in 1 second = 75mb. Using a SD card you'll be waiting and complaining Samsung software is slow when it is the SD card.
Storage is now super fast while everyone is stuck using last years slow storage.
In house processor that is faster than what is in any other phone.
Camera that out performs the iPhone
RAM that is faster than last years.
You'll be able to do more things at once on the phone without any slow downs.
You'll be able to install programs quicker. Open the camera quicker.
Themes so you don't have to look at the default touchwiz.
Comes with 115gb of cloud storage. Throw your pictures and videos into the cloud them move them to your computer / delete them when your done and have more room on your device.
This device is going to be the phone to be in 2015 and beyond since most companies will be asking Samsung for their products to put in inside their phones just to compete with the S6 and S7.

does anyone have the radio bandwidths for the s6 edge? can't seem to find it anywhere

Except for the obvious prediction that the next xperia is called z5 the rest of the article is purely speculative with no source (credible or not) mentioned. It more looks like the author just put together a wish list of his own. Honestly I grew tired of getting excited about these baseless prediction just to be disappointed when the actual release date came.
If you think about it logically, except for a very small group of geeks (myself happily included) who admire the engineering marvel that xzu is, most ordinary people ridicule this phone. The reaction I get from other people when they see me with the phone is that it is way too small to be a practical tablet and way too big to be a practical phone. That is why despite its excellent specs it is selling for around 250 dollars these days and no one is rushing to deplete the stocks.
Sony needs to revive its mobile business very badly and has to focus on the smallest number of investments with the highest return. Look at tablet z4 for example which anyone immediately falls in love with. And on the phone front it should follow a two tier premium model that was started by Samsung with the s series and note series, and copied by Apple as iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s plus, which has proved to be a super successful model in the United states and elsewhere. Another ultra phone has no place in such a line up, as sad as it may be for me and others in this forum.
Sorry to disappoint, but the next ultra will most likely have 6" display. the reason for it is obvious: much more pants pocket friendly. no brainer. most people aside of a minority of hardcore mobile geeks/some woman who carry a purse 24/7 who want larger display then 6" will buy a tablet. they want profit in 2016 and they want to rival mpte 5. 6s plus, lg new phablet, etc. and not some negligible chinese tablets with phone capabilities. there is no other way. it is a very good expected and wanted move for sony and all should be happy, including sony fans aside of minority of people who actually use z ultra as daily driver. most people beg sony to make a flag phablet that they actually never made (full flagship spec, more pocket friendly, etc.).

I agree. I don't know if its gonna be 6" (personally would prefer 6.2" if we can't have 6.4" again) but it will be smaller. The reason is simple: ZU didn't sell as well as they wanted.
Although I would argue if they do not release similar flagship phones every half a year the ZU would have position itself better to compete directly with the Galaxy Notes. But it seems they're still following the same business model they will blame on the size of the ZU being unpopular among consumers.
Most consumers and sony fans voice is loud and clear: "sony! make a phablet flag, give it the best spec - every feature of what the main size flag has and more, give it some simple software features to make good use of a large display like 2 windows mode, make it as pocket friendly as possible, don't make the display larger then 6", height dimensions should be as short as possible to further make it easier to carry in pants pocket". this is what i hear and read in the last 2 years. imagine such device with the beautiful sexy new design that only sony know to design, 6" JDI/AUO QHD display, 2 front speakers, latest camera sensor imx230, beefy 4000-4500 mAh battery, etc. *day dreaming*
6 inch display? Too small. It will be a tablet for me then. The Z3 TC or a Z5 TC is on my list of potential successors if they just introduce a 6 inch "Ultra".
I use my device for reading, browsing and so forth, which make 6 inch or smaller display inconvenient and a 10 inch tablet too big. Sweetspot is between 6.5-8 inches and devices smaller than 6.44 is not interesting at all, regardless of specifications due to a way too small display making the general use more uncomfortable (increased need for zooming and so on).
I agree. z3tc is definitely a good upgrade from z ultra and its true successor imo. there is no news of sony working on a new tc for 2h so its the best small tablet option. http://www.amazon.com/XPERIA-TABLET...=1437248308&sr=8-1&keywords=z3+tablet+compact
I'm all for phablets, but... 8in is too much even for me to be a phone that I can carry... 7in with no border would be ideal... Make a new ultra already sony...
Meh, I will always stick to at least 6 coll phones since the Z ultra and the only thing I care about is price and micro SD support.
If somone goes the route of samsung and starts to refuse microSD slots, **** them. Everything that is for the mainstream is for retards. Its nothing for a serious person .
The moment a serious Ubuntu phone comes, with decent specs, I would swtich immediately. I am through with these so called "mainstream" phones.
Z5 can't be the 820 if it's in September. Qualcomm roadmap says December for that chip's release.

Makes no sense to put that kind of $ into a phone at 6"4. 6" is a proven seller.
(unfortunately).

I was eyeing this since it was announced but I affraid it does not has the required US lte bands, especially T Mobile.

Not to mention that it will have ZERO community support, ZERO customer support in case of faults.
I'm hoping and waiting with my finger crossed for September.
I just feel Sony will not disappoint this time.
If the real news is just the 4K screen, with SD810 etc etc, I'll just wait a little bit more until it gets in the hands of various sites/blogs, wait for their impressions.
When I bought the Ultra I went on and read every single hands on, review or article regarding it, and every single one, despite dragging it down on measures (too big to do this, to large to do that etc), every single one was impressed on how much a beast was this phone.
Now this is what I want for the next Ultra. To be a freaking Unicorn. I don't give a s#it if they sell one or one million, I'll be the first in line to get it. [emoji12]

5.7... ? 3600mAh... ? Fail.
6 inches could be fine IF Sony introduce a Z5 Tablet Compact with similar features. I have tried to fit the Z3 TC in my pockets and it works well so a device that size is a working backup plan if it would turn out that the next "Ultra" is a degradation of screen estate.
The next Ultra should have minimum a 6.44 inch display or up to 7 inch in order to qualify as a proper successor. A smaller 6 incher would be too much of a step back since it would require a lot of extra zooming when reading.
It would be great if Sony would make a keyboard flip cover as well and also further development of stylus support where they got on the right track with the "graphite pen" capable Ultra screen.
If the increased size of the device can be used to facilitate proper cooling of a Snapdragon 810, it could be an OK choice but if it turns out that the heating issues from the Z3+ is there, then it would be a huge drawback from the Ultra, which haven't overheated a single time during those two years I had it.

Why do you think it won't support US LTE?
I'm pretty sure there will be a US variant on this flagship series.
