My Tab 4 is password-protected with a 30-minute delay. But when the tablet wakes, I'd like it to always go to the lock screen, in order to protect against waking accidentally if the tablet gets jostled in its carrier. The lock screen should just require a swipe, unless 30 minutes have elapsed since last use.
That's the way it works by default on my Android phone, but I can't find any setting to make my Tab 4 work that way. Instead, if it's been less than 30 minutes, the tablet wakes directly to the home screen, or whatever screen was last in use (after 30 minutes, I get the lock screen with password, which is appropriate).
Is there any way to get the desired lock-screen behavior on the Tab 4?

hello,
while listening to music i lock my prophet and put it in my pocket. when i want to look at the time i just put it out of my pocket, press a button (for backlight) and want to see the time. but the problem is that with enabled device lock the today screen does not refresh anymore. i just see the time when i locked the device. to see the current time i have to unlock the device again
is there any possibility to refresh the todayscreen during a device lock?
btw: for the time i only use the LVM Time plugin.
I don't know if this could be done... But it's the same thing when put it to standby... When you press the awake button there's a 1 or 2 second gap before it finally refreshes the time... I'm also interested in this since I use my device too to play music...
Try using mortsaver. It will lock the screen so you can play music with the screen off and buttons inoperable. If you press any button, the screen will show the time for a short time (you specify how long in secnds) and then go blank again until you deactivate mortsaver totally.Fantastic app!!!
Is there a setting or a way to keep the screen on without having to tap the screen every 10 minutes?
I've tried four different ICS ROMs, and in each one the screen always blacks out at 10 minutes of idle time. It doesn't even matter if I set the display sleep to 30 minutes. At least it's easy to wake up. Just need to tap the screen. But when I'm running on the treadmill watching a video with my tablet just out of reach, it's not so easy to tap the screen. I've tried several apps that keep the screen on, but they don't seem to work.
Search "no screen off" in the market
Make sure in the ROM settings you have it so that it won't turn the screen off on idle
I'm currently running Dynamic Kat 4.0 (10/13/14 bulid) and am having an issue with setting the "Secured lock time". The lock screen is currently secured with the fingerprint reader and I have the secured lock time set to 3 minutes. However, after 15 seconds of inactivity, and turning on the phone, I have to reswipe my finger to again in order to unlock.
Is there another setting somewhere that determines how long before your finger needs to be swiped again to unlock? Ideally I'd like to set it to 5 minutes or so.
Hello. I have SM-T535 with 5.0.2 official firmware, non-rooted. Is there any options to increase time that screen is on, when lock screen is visible?
Now when I have screen locked and when I change user, then sreen turns itself off like 2 seconds. Need to push power again to get another user login visible again. Every time. Also lock screen time is too short for my user profile too. I'v set screen on time to 2 minutes (without a lock screen), but I cannot find if it's possible to adjust time on when screen locked. Now it turns itself off too fast
Is there a way to bypass the lock screen when using smart lock when trusted? What I want to do is double top on the AOD screen which then takes me directly to the home screen and NOT the lock screen where I have to swipe in again. Any ideas?
I have also been looking for a solution to this. While I have not been able to completely bypass the lock screen here is a workaround which minimizes when the lock screen appears.
Settings --> Lock screen --> Secure lock settings --> Lock automatically I increased the time from 5 seconds to 30 Minutes (which is the maximum value)
When away from my trusted places I use the power button which locks my phone immediately based on the 'Lock instantly with power key' setting
Hope this helps
I used Gravity Screen for this purpose a few years ago. I don't know if it works with this phone but you can try it out.
I also is able to turn on your screen as soon as you pick it up. And bypass your lockscreen ofc.
