After update 20140825 I've been experiencing issues with my WIFI connection, it keep on "Obtaining IP" and after a some time it will restart the connections as it fails....I saw some people experiencing the same problem on this thread :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2735565&page=78
but as im kind of new a can not replay for my lack of posts published, so my question in general is, should I try the PhilZ Touch 6.48.6 Recovery with a clean install with the latest Nightly in other to see if it solve the WIFI problem ?
I don't think anyone knows for sure yet but yes that is what the one person has claimed to have found a fix did.

Exactly the same problem as you're having, and PhilZ didn't help with the problem at all. The main thread guys doesn't seem to be responding to the issue either. I'll see what I can do from here.
Oh, and cc @ATTACK - you must have acknowledged the issue by now, I guess.

The Wifi issue has been reported. Dhacker added this commit to CM, but I don't know if it's been merged yet.
One way to fix the issue is to set a static IP. Dhcp is what seems to be the issue

Static IP makes it connect successfully, but for unknown reason, data only uploads (as indicated by the arrows on the WiFi icon), and no website would load, even when other phones connected to the same WiFi works. Tried multiple IPs to make sure the IP I choose is legal, but still no dice.

Doesn't work either. I'm pretty sure this isn't a DNS problem.
EDIT: Downgraded to JB and flashed JB BL version, WiFi and GPS both working splendidly out of the box. I'll stick to JB BL at the moment because it also supports arrrghhh's overclocked kernel. Thanks for all the help anyway.

Suggestion: try scratching goo.im for previous nightlies and isolate the issue between certain ones. Back in March CM11 had stutter issues on this phone and I successfully traced the issue back to November 2013. Helped solving the issue in 3 days after the discovery.

They are trying to fix it, but I don't know if it is on kernel o somewhere else... The only way I could get back to "normal" was using a previous Nightly.

Mine works fine with WPA2/AES on my network. However, I've had more than one new Laptop recently that wouldn't connect, and from my experience, WPA2/AES can be a bit hit or miss based on the compatibility of the hardware/firmware of the router and connecting device.

And I guess some laptops may have problems with it, as WinXP needs an update to work with WPA2 if I'm not wrong.

Hey everyone!
I have installed CM7 onto my KF, which I am loving btw, as directed by whistlestop over at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1390773, but I notice that my KF cannot find my 802.11N network. However, my 802.11G network is working w/o any problems.
I have searched that thread and the entire xda forums and could not find anyone commenting on CM7, KF and 802.11N. I am just wondering if the feature has even been added yet to the build or if I have a problem.
Much thanks for any info!
Has no one have any observations on this? I see the thread has gotten nearly 100 views, but no one is even able to confirm/repute my observations?

and your using CM7 on your KF? Can you tell me what band 2.4GHz, 5GHz or both you are using? Are you using a static channel or is it set to auto?
I ask because I had to set my 5GHz channel to a static channel for my Galaxy Nexus to see my N network. I am also using dd-wrt for my router firmware.
Thanks for the response!
there is a post from a dev that says 5ghz is not possible because the chipset is'nt capable of that - only 2.4ghz

Thanks for the heads up! I also found a page on wlanbook.com after you mentioned it. I would post the URL, but not allowed yet.
As for seeing N network on stock, I realize I previously had my N network SSID extended to the 2.4GHz band as well as the 5GHz band, which I do not anymore.

I can't find the option on mine so I assumed Samsung had removed the option for some reason.
Also seemingly missing is the swipe to camera from the lock screen, which I had wanted.
I wondered about using another ROM instead but guess I would then lose some of the S-Pen ability and dedicated apps?

I had the same problem with 5GHz, solved by setting up router at channel 36 on the 5 GHz band. (Router came from factory in auto mode then I change it to channel 36)" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45374467&highlight=5ghz#post45374467
I changed the 5Ghz channel on my router (Netgear R6300) to 48, and it found the 5 Ghz right away. Well, problem solved anyway Is there a difference in the UK version? I am trying to figure out why it won't see Channels 149, 153, 157 and 161, it did before.
One other thing, when I switched the R6300 to Channel 48 the router gave me a popup about the best wireless performance being with Channels 149, 153, 157 and 161, I am assuming it says that due to the possibility of more congestion, though being rural that's not an issue, and 5 Ghz seems to be fine on Channel 48.

they did not remove it, they just, for some strange reason, not enabled it - don't even ask me why. However, check Civ's custom ROM (based on UK Firmware), look at his post: [ROM][4.2.2][N5110-MH3][N5100-MH2] CivZ-FLEX-BEAM-REV3.0 + SphereEngine [18/sep/2013]
he did enabled it...
unless multi-users option is critical to you, I would recommend to flash Civ's ROM.

Indeed, the Wi-Fi and BlueTooth tethering is not working here either. It worked well on the Stock ROM though, so I don't believe it's caused by the provider.
I hope this can be fixed, I read somewhere else I might have to do with the tether_dun_required setting in settings.db -> global.

I was going to work on it over the holidays, but among the things I forgot to bring with me was the SIM adapter for my N7000. Tethering works fine on all of the other devices I own.
I've got a number of ideas why, although the fact that BT tethering is ALSO failing indicates it's something different from what I'm used to in the past... That's new information.

Odd, someone else claimed it was not working... They might be on one of the providers where tethering is blocked. (There's a commit going through review to remove a bunch of those blocks...)
So it seems to be something odd with all of the Samsung Exynos4 devices, not sure what yet... Every change that SHOULD be required seems to be there, but we're obviously missing something.

Hello everyone first time joining xda; I have used the site a few times and I love it. I also created an account because of the wonderful community anyways; I seem to be having this really frustrating problem with my Verizon LG G2. I picked up the phone on black Friday and its been absolutely wonderful except for one issue, my WiFi drops signal constantly and I mean almost every 3-15 minutes but the catch is that I have used WiFi at my friends and by that I mean more than a one or two works great at theirs and not mine but at my house and it doesn't and I think this might be a router issue. But I have spent many hours trying to figure out what might be wrong it it helps my router is: Netgear model WNDR3700. I've tried just about everything and would like some smarter help. Thank you for reading!

My suggestion is to just get a new router. They're only 30 bucks if you get em used (I mean, NICE ones). I am somewhat router-savvy and I would recommend the D-Link DIR-655 as a replacement. It has OS-independent printer/HDD sharing, website URL blocking (great for blocking ads), time restrictions, logging, wireless N & good range... if you're lucky you'll find one in great condition for about $39 last I checked. Once I got one for $20 off ebay and it had some issues.. so don't do that I guess.
I know my suggestion doesn't directly answer your question but it will directly solve your problem. Hope this helps,

Also, another dummy fix is checking which wireless standards you have selected. Surprisingly a lot of android phones are not compatible with independent Wireless-N, make sure you have set up a,b,g,n or b,g,n or even try straight g or straight b if those don't work. On top of that, try changing the wireless frequencies, that is very likely to be your problem.
