[GT-I9505] Screen power saving - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
When I check "screen power saving" on the power saving mode and the brightness on auto (or dark) then my screen starts to flicker (like a CRT screen when you look at past) When I uncheck screen power saving the problem resolved.
Have somebody the same problem or a solution ?

screen doesn't turn on by screen tap?

Hi All,
My Wizard is set to turn the screen off after a minute of inactivity.
To get it back on, I have to press the power button.
I've checked in backlight and power settings and have it set to allow a screen tap to turn the backlight on, but it's not working - well, if the backlight's off but the screen's on it works ok, but I want a tap to turn the screen and the backlight on together. At the moment I have to press the power button, which upsets Pocket Player MP3 playback...or I can press a hardware button, but again, this tends to interrupt playback of music as all the buttons are mapped to something.
Seems a simple request, am I missing anything? This is under the Mr Clean ROM, if it makes a difference.

Once the screen goes off, the phone is "sleeping". The only way I know of to turn it on at this point is to tap the power button. To do what you want would be turn turn off the screen going into sleep mode, but that will come at the expense of your battery life. Start>Settings>Power>Advanced then uncheck the Turn off device under On Battery Power.
device lock(s)
A halfway solution, you could turn the screen off using the device lock app, which includes screen off. Then when you press the power button it only effects the screen and not anything which is running. The second one is very good for listening to music with, assuming you volume control button isn't broken like mine

Turning the damn thing off!

Hi there,
This is probably a daft question, but how do I completely turn off the device? At the moment if I press the silver power button; it just turns off the backlight the way it does if you close the lid. It's not THAT much of a problem, just a huge drain on battery power.
Any ideas would be great,
Ta
You can't turn the device off completely like a regular phone. If you press the silver button once quick it will put the device into low power standby mode. The backlight AND screen should turn off. If you hold the silver button for longer only the backlight will go off which is different.
There are also a number of power saving options in the settings which will determine how long the backlight is turned off and how long the device will go into standby automatically.

try entering in safe mode.
-turn of phone
-turn it on again and keep tapping the menu button while it is booting
-it should vibrate and start in safe mode
then try if the problem still persists.
if not, its propably one of your apps causing the problem.

stock s6 lite display turns off

My S6 lite (never flashed a ROM, running original OS) has a terrible problem: after being turned on, the display blacks out -- but the backlight is still on! The only way to get it to respond is to push and hold power button and "volume down" at the same time. This shuts it off, then I can turn it back on again. A few minutes later, the screen blacks out (but the backlight is still on) and the cycle repeats.
Ideas?
