Do you know if there is an option to change silver frame around screen?
My s5 fell at the pavment... The frame is destroyed and looks ugly .

I think your only real option is to cover it with a case, like maybe a bumper style type?
Few minutes ago I wrote message to Samsung's polish service and immediately get information that they can replace this frame but it costs 250 pln, it's something about 60 euro...
I thought about replacing it myself but I don't want to lose waterproof and warranty...

Normally I use leather case. When I don't use phone I put it there. I don't know the English word for this type of case .
I'm not a fan of any types of bumpers which makes phone bigger so it's not solution for me.
I will think about replacing this in Samsung's service.
Go with the service! 60 euros is nothing for this kind of fix - I'd imagine more like 250 euros - just so they can skin the customer once more. And you'll have your warranty and water resistance as well, otherwise if you did it yourself I'd seriously doubt it.

Okay so I ordered a back aluminium case on eBay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220167294721
This case has exceeded my expectations. Only though....the LCD portion of the case is protected by a plastic cover where as.... I was expecting just a knockout like all the other parts of the aluminium. I still don't know, if this is a plus or not, because while it does protect the screen, I was hoping to at least use the touch screen while its in the case, but at least I know its fully protected. Another feature which made me just love this case even more was the fact that the belt clip could be screwed with the phone being inside, many other cases either have a fixed belt clip (clumbersom) or if you want to use the belt clip you have to screw on a disc, and prep it. With this case you can screw the disc in 2 seconds and do not need a screwdriver or any other tools, it's truly quick fit, screw on, screw off.
One note: the finish I ordered is BLACK which can be seen from the pictures, it also comes in Silver, now it has some sort or tactile finish to it, kind of that powder coated, scratch resistant feel. I don't think the Silver version will be like this, I am sure you will see the natural brushed grains of Aluminium. I still don't know if I should have hosen the Silver. I hate scratches and i figured Black doesnt show scratches and I like Black, although I do love Natural Aluminium too, but I was afraid of scratches and if it appeared cheep, luckily though I am giving one of these cases as a gift so I am going to order the Silver one and choose which one I like better and give the least as the gift.
In any case the powder scratch resistant coating on the Black version is awesome and If after a week I feel the plastic cover that protects the LCD prooves to be of a bother I think I will have to knock it out.
In the pictures you will NOT notice that there is a Plastic cover... I know I have said this numerous times, you may thank me alter on for warning you.
Another thing that impressed me was the box the case arrived in, and the cotton wrap the case was wrapped in... exactly how my Louis Vuitton wallet shipped, very impressed, they really paid attension to the details down to the box.

I have to ask you about your 2nd pic showing the back side though ... what is that blueish frame around the camera area ???
It also looks to me that your device's back side is not of black colour to begin with ?? mine is a TyTN II & I don't have that ... it is totally black ...
Probably it's because your device is another variation of the Kaiser ??
BTW ... I also got the same black case arrived yesterday too

That blue part on the camera is just a protective film that is sometimes put on the silver panels to protect them from scratching. It is kind of like a sticker (but not quite so sticky), and it can be easily removed.
How heavy is it compared to the original one?
Regards,
Carty..
looks pretty good.. but does it make the power button harder to push than it already is?

well that answer one thing ... but...
if you look at the back of that device ... it's silver or lighter colours exposed where the opening of the back are ( 4 shorts & 1 long lines ) ...etc
that made me thought of other variations of the device. Since I owned a black TyTN II, that's all I know to go by ... is it's completely black at the back ... not like the pic.

lol
upon closer look of the 4th pic ( D-Pad & buttons )... I now realized that it's NOT a TyTN II after all
That is odd, its not blu its the same color as everyone elses, I have the T-Mobile version which is not black, its gunmetal but the camera plate, is the same color as your, somehow the flash caused a blue tint.

Not really, but I prefer the Hermes (TYTYN) switches to the Kaiser anyday, I also miss the loss of that extra button next to the Power button.

that is so funny man, I always used to miss it too feeling around, especially when it was in my car holder, I am so used to the Hermes (TYTN) that I am feeling around for a second before I find it.
BTW did anyone else have the problem of the sliding? If you owned a TYTN then you will knwo what I am talking about, the slide is in the opposite direction, it takes tiem to get used to.
hey does the front plastic shield bother you? Do you fidn youself forgeting tis there atempting to touch the screen lol

Hello ...i was wondering if there is any way we can replace the s5 ( metal look) frame on a gsm shop or I don't know.
..I saw it is REALLY Sensitive ...i cam easily scratch it even with my nail (I use a neo hybrid case anyway )
If you can scratch it with your nail the you have a problem... Either you are superman or you have a fake S5.
I will bet you my genuine S5 that you cannot scratch the frame with your nail. What a load of hogwash.
It's not clear what you want to do. Replace a scratched part? Or obtain a metal replacement?
You can buy a OEM or knock off replacement online or through better phone repair shops. Fabricating a one off metal frame is more ambitious, but hardly impossible.
If you know what Google is, you can easily find enough information to construct a basic aluminum forge for ~ $100 - $200. Melt down some aluminum cans to make ingots. Use the plastic midframe as a sand cast mold pattern and then recast the ingots into your sand mold. Some quality time with a Dremel and wet sandpaper and you should end up with a aluminum replacement frame.
A Sunday project if you have a good mechanical aptitude. It wouldn't be economically feasible to pay a metal works to do it for you at anything approaching retail rates.

A full service phone repair shop can replace the frame for you. The part should be inexpensive, but the labour could easily run north of $100.

The display is glued to the frame. To remove the frame, the display has to be carefully removed with a heat gun and pressure. Then several dozen pieces need to be disassembled from the frame. Then everything needs to be reassembled in reverse with new seals and adhesive.

I have to ask you ...I saw that my chrome frame is pretty sensitive ...I can easily scratch it ..yours is stronger/resistant )?
And thx for your answers )
You're not likely to ever need to replace the frame for anything other than cosmetic reasons. I've never seen a cracked frame. But it is plastic after all, so if you use your phone without a case, dropping it or abrasion against a hard surface is likely to scratch the faux chrome.

I don't recall exactly but 1 handset, 1 battery, 1 earphones (in-ear), 1 USB wall charger, 1 Data cum Charging cable, 1 screen Guard, 1 Rectangular piece of plastic with YU logo to apply the screen guard. I think that's it.

Well unfortunately you only get a Screen Guard that's it !
I'm using Pudini's Back Cover. I was actually not sure to buy it at first, but I was not disappointed, nice build quality and a very nice quicksand texture at the back. Also, you get a free Matt screen guard with it, like a cherry on a cake. And all of it for just Rs. 299.
My verdict : "Go For It" as soon as it gets restocked.
But if u r looking for a flip cover, sorry but I can't be of any help here

Well, a Screen Guard is a personal preference, it specifically depends on the way you handle your phone. I use it up to it's limit but at the same time I do give extra attention n care to it so that nothing ever goes wrong with it.
The Screen Guard that comes with is a Matt Finish Screen Guard and a regular one, fits in perfectly, and is free, so it doesn't matter whether you apply it or throw it away. It's not the one from the YU store with a tempered treatment but it just works fine for me.
But if you prefer A tempered screen guard, just for a little extra care, buy it on amazon, it's prize are getting lower and lower day by day, if you really are interested in buying it I would suggest to wait for a couple of days, I feel the prizes are going to go down little bit more.

So if I use it carefully then there will be no scratch right? Do you have got any scratches till now?
Not a single scratch, listen buddy, there's no thing like a good screen guard or a bad screen guard, people break their tempered glasses too, and some live with a glssy screen guard as long as their cell lasts. The thing is how well you handle your device.
As you can see my display was broken though it was fall from my pocket and drop distance was only 5-6inch.Only using it 5days.Isn't it pass the 14 different kind of durability test? Now which one should i buy

Will it void my water resistant capabilitie?
& will i view the original color from my display or it will destroy my color experience?
Please help me
I think you will void water resist protection, because the phone is sealed with glue stripes around the corners. Here (Chile) LG offers a program called LG Care and they change the screen for free in the three first months, there's no option to contact LG?
btw you are looking for digitizer, not the entire screen, so i don't think that you will see difference in colors
I think you'll need to change the whole screen (118$ option).
Most, if not all, screens are like this nowadays. You can't separate the screen glass from the actual screen (or it is almost impossible to do so without breaking the screen) so you're only left with the expensive option which, in your case, means changing the whole screen.
I've read a few times now that repair shops in US charge around 150 bucks for LG G6's screen repair and the phone probably keeps water resistance since it's repaired professionally.
If i was you i'd ask around and then decide. If it really is "only" 150 bucks then it's probably a better option than buying a 120 dollar screen and changing it yourself (which can be tricky and you might break something else in the process + i'm pretty sure waterresistance will be gone that way).

The cheap part is front screen glass which is a mistery to me.
In every LG G6 screen repair tutorial or disassembly video i've seen everyone always changes the whole screen so... Idk.
I might be wrong but i really haven't come across any videos or tutorials that show how to separate screen glass from the screen itself for repair.
Any update!
Not any help for the OP, just informative :
The digitizer (which detects touches) is air tight glued to the screen (which gives the content).
Reason: much more immersive experience. That is why the screen seems so close to the surface. If it is seperated, the screen will sit deeper in the phone and will give a depth difference in what you touch to what you see.
Disadvantages : screen replacement can only be done when buying a pre-glued screen. You cannot glue not yourself.
If the screen gets too hot, the glue burns leaving a locally brown circular spot on your screen (common on older phones)

I'm very certain that you won't be able to buy the parts seperate. The screen will always come with the digitizer pre-glued. I think the price difference is rather in it being an original screen or a third party screen.

Probably. Car glass replacer often use stickers to put on cracks to prevent further cracking while your window is on order. So one can conclude it works the same on smartphones. I would certainly give it a try, they're cheap.

Seems like none. It is quite uncommon phone so aftermarket parts will be really hard to get. (Plus the service will be a pain because back cover is glued and will surely crack while opening!)
Nea, it wont crack, with a heat gun you can open it.
The problem is what screen is a good replacement
