Hello everyone,
I am new to the forum and have very little experience with ROM's, please help while you can.
I have been testing and trying many ROM for my Galaxy S4 PH-L720, a few of them I think are great and others were just not what I expected. but I have installed this ROM which I love, I think it is the most close to perfect ROM out there at least that I know of. This ROM is called
(ROM][XXUGNF1][4.4.2] S5 RivalStorm V2.1 [SLIM][S5 Apps/Features) Everything works flawlessly chi I have not been able to accomplish with any other ROM. the only disadvantage is the the Model Number is GT-I9505 and it is only CDMA enable, I would love to use this on any carrier in the US (Sprint, Verizon, Tmobile).
Question:
Is it possible to install extra Modules or a different Kernel to have this ROM also be GSM, LTE, eVDO?
Are there any ROM like this one that support these features?
I have come across a few but they are all international.
Why are the developers not creating something like this for US carrier based phones (Galaxy S4,S5)?
Thanks in advance to all.

Best way (in my opinion) is to root that device, flash a new recovery and install a new firmware (ROM). For a Galaxy S2 its fairly easy since it has a huge userbase and is therefore good supported. Here you can find guides for all the necessary steps http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general
Nice side effect: You get rid of all the unuseful (in my eyes) stuff TMobile bakes into their ROMs.
I personally would suggest you try one of the Android 4.4 ROMs (I personally only know Cyanogenmod and OmniROM), they are running stable, fast and have the latest Android version.
Of course you can also stick to original unbranded Samsung ROMs which include the tethering functionality without limitations.
However, TMobile claims to implement different optimizations for their net in their ROMs. You would lose these optimizations until you go back to a TMobile branded ROM.
Hey guys!
I have seen this question scattered all over the internet, with very little resolution. Can I use custom made for the Note 3 N9005 on the N9007?
I know they have the same processor and that my one (the N9007) is a TD-LTE version - but that is about the extent of my knowledge.
I'm pretty keen on sussing out some custom roms, in particular cyanogenmod but can't seem to find ANY roms are built for my model. I'm not sure whether that's because the n9005 roms work on the n9007 or because there aren't any savvy people using the same device as me.
Any information that I can provide to help you help me, I'll happily provide! ^_^
Thanks!
Hello,
I have an S4 and am very happy about the ROM I am using (Dandroid: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2539361).
I am tempted to buy an S5, but only if I can root it to a very pure ROM (ie. as stripped of anything non google as possible).
Which hardware would you recommend buying, and for which ROM?

hello!
Since you are already using S4, you must be aware that S5 will too come loaded with the touchwiz interface. All variants will have the same interface. Since you are into custom ROMs, I would suggest you go with the Snapdragon based version of S5 because that version has more support from the great developers here at XDA than the Exynos based version.
Have a look at Xtrestolite rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2732110
this rom is extremely debloated and I am at the moment using the Exynos version of this Rom and I am more than satisfied with it.
Good luck!
..
Every other Galaxy phone I've had I would have had similar worries, but TW on the S5 actually isn't that bad and is the first time I haven't wanted a custom Rom.
Wait for the Nexus 6!
Hello,
it's since I lost my old Omnia 900 that I don't login on this forum, so please forgive my question, I am not updated at all.
I also remember the hours lost to find the best suitable ROM for the Omnia, so I really don't want to experience that again.
I'd like to clean my Galaxy S5 and in order to do so, I don't want to experiment with unstable builds or similar.
I just would like to use the cleanest and most stable rom available that would let my galaxy S5 be fully functional.
Which ROM would you suggest me to use? BTW I actually know nothing except how to do a simple root, so if you have any links, is also appreciated.
I got some answers already, like: Phoenix rom and Blissrom.
Again I need the bare minimum, but with all the full set of samsung features enabled (minus the samsung software though, if, for example, finger scan needs some software, I will install it).
Hello Everyone,
I've tried almost every N7 port for Note 3 and non of them are compatible.
Not sure if anyone knows or have a way to make those International N7 work on our N900v.
Thanks.
I know that feeling, many roms to install and test but difficult to decide with which to stay
I'll just tell you what to look for
Roms with aroma installer
Installers for camera n3, n4, s5 to select the one you like
Be able to choose the variant of note 3 from aroma
Additional features
rom control
Emojin ..... etc
All or almost, n7 roms work quite well on the n900v, with 4g functions
Roms n7 I've tried phronesis aryamod darklord
There are many roms, just install one and test for a week or two, if you are happy in that time stay with that
see you
Have you flashed the AryaMod ROM? I use it as a daily on my N3 (vzw)

There you go bud
I've flashed the Darklord ROM for the Note 3 onto my Verizon Note 3, although I'm using T-Mobile now. My 4G LTE works fine and everything else, though I had to install some fixes found in the forum of that post. I choose the T-Mobile CSC instead of Verizon.

You've used phronesis? It looks like our Verizon n900v isn't supported. Do you know of a Verizon port?

Okay cool, thx. I use a Verizon sim so no go for me. I'll just wait for Arya s7 port to be fixed a little more.
