Roms, root, version... think of buying Note 3 some questions - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, currently I have galaxy s2 CM 10.1 stable build.
I want to upgrade to a newer phone with better battery life, speed and big screen.
Things that I want to know about this phone are the roms, is there stable CM version?
And which version is better the exynos or the snapdragon?
Or maybe you have a recommendation for another phone?
How are the Samsung based roms in aspects of battery life, speed and latest version?
I would be very glad for your help!

[Q] Which S5 to buy to have the purest ROM?

Hello,
I have an S4 and am very happy about the ROM I am using (Dandroid: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2539361).
I am tempted to buy an S5, but only if I can root it to a very pure ROM (ie. as stripped of anything non google as possible).
Which hardware would you recommend buying, and for which ROM?

hello!
Since you are already using S4, you must be aware that S5 will too come loaded with the touchwiz interface. All variants will have the same interface. Since you are into custom ROMs, I would suggest you go with the Snapdragon based version of S5 because that version has more support from the great developers here at XDA than the Exynos based version.
Have a look at Xtrestolite rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2732110
this rom is extremely debloated and I am at the moment using the Exynos version of this Rom and I am more than satisfied with it.
Good luck!
..
Every other Galaxy phone I've had I would have had similar worries, but TW on the S5 actually isn't that bad and is the first time I haven't wanted a custom Rom.
Wait for the Nexus 6!

[Q] Usability of MIUI?

I've been out of the ROM scene for quite awhile (last time I modded my phone was in 2013). I'm interested in trying out an MIUI ROM, but I have some lingering questions and doubts. How far along is MIUI on Note 3? Are there stable, complete versions for the phone? Which would you say is the best MIUI ROM for the Note 3 in terms of stability and battery life? Also which is better? MIUI based on TouchWiz, or MIUI based on CyanogenMOD?

ROMs do not decide battery performance unless something is horribly coded to cause constant usage. Always stick to stock based ROMs if you want stability. Looking through the Android Development section and all the descriptions I am seeing only one listed as S5 http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att/development/movin-please-posts-t2864506

[Q] Galaxy S3 neo. Best custom rom/kernel for both battery life/performance?

Hi.
I am pretty new to android and I just decided to root my S3 neo running 4.4.2 android version because I couldnt
Find any other way to get hearhstone running on it. And of course now, after rooting I want to try custom software
To improve my galaxy's performance.
Any tips/links?
You can try Rox' cyanogenmod 12 or BlissPop. I think Bliss is better because of the customization and the fact that you can tweak your CPU/GPU frequency.

The OP was looking for the most stable ROM which is why I recommended stock. I stick to stock ROMs these days because they work for my needs.
A custom ROM that is best for one person is not always the best for another person.
I'm curious as to which Note 3 you have. I'm in Canada and we have the sm-n900w8. Thanks.

On Note 3 N9005 as asked ???
Lineage 15.1, it's amazing. I used to be on Stock 5.0, then i moved to 6.0.1 Marshmallow Touchwiz Port then i moved to Lineage 15.1 oreo 8.1. The difference is huge. Battery life increased massively, better performance and also everything looks super nice

I also have Sm-n900w8. You can try it by yourself and you'll see that Havoc os is great in battery life, stability and features. It comes with a lot of features.

I haven't used my note 3 for a while and it's my back up phone. I'm using an iPhone 6s at the moment.
