Hey everyone,
I have just installed my carrier stock ROM and got a FOTA upgrade. after the download finishes. the installation is starting to install it and I get the next message: err 0x1111004.
after searching up in the web found that the common answer is because the device is rooted.
my device is not.
any solution?
thank you all.

I'm currently on I337UCUAMDB.. trying to get the update first then root after. For some reason, every time I try to access software update, I get this message.
"Software Update Interrupted. No update is available for your device at this time. Please try again in 24 hours."
Any ideas? I've tried on a friend's phone and he also gets the same message. AT&T carrier.
U will have to go back to stock ROM through Odin..I had the same message had to deroot and return my phone to stock then up date through Kies ...hope that helps...

its stock.. i literally just took it out of the box. same with my friend, he got his yesterday.. and we both keep getting this error.. we've tried to push the date forward to try the update again, and each time, it is the same error message.
So my buddy pushed the date forward again, tried the update again, and this time it said "Software is up to date."
i am lost now.
Someone else posted that they had to have ATT push the update to them. I'm wondering if ATT is already pulling that update and preparing a patched one.

can you link me to that? did they just call customer service and ask for the update? from reading, I see that the update fixed a bit of the lag issues people had. I'd like to get that update first before rooting. thanks!

Hi everyone,
I got a popup window notifying me about a system update that was ready to install on my Verizon LG G2. I chose not to install it, but it said I can install it later. I am rooted and I am not sure what this update is for, possibly a fix for the root exploits. Anyone else seeing this?
EDIT: Everyone is confirming that it does not break root, but if you have already installed TWRP then DO NOT ACCEPT THE UPDATE.

I got it too.... Couldn't find any info on it. I did the update and in "about phone' I still show rooted. It is still 4.2.2 so I am assuming it was a minor software issue/security fix.

Please confirm that you did the system update and can still use root apps. Also, which root method did you use. Maybe they patched the Chinese method, but not the newer method yet!
I'm getting the notification too. I won't be updating til I find out what it does.

Wow, pretty ballsy of you to accept the OTA without knowing if it would break root or custom recovery.
I hope there not trying that crap already

I am not rooted and have it downloaded (not installed).
Let me know if there is anything you would need from it and I can post.

We have custom recovery. Why on earth would anyone do a OTA .. ever... again.... I have never. There will be a ROM based on Stock available that will include every GOOD thing from every OTA that is pushed... Patience is a virtue.

No customer recovery because TWRP is broken currently.

So how do you stop it from popping up the notification. I don't mind waiting, but I don't see how to dismiss the notification?

The Newest recovery has ADB option and is considered safe for now. My point is that why would anyone accept an OTA when it is obvious that withing a short period of time there is not only going to be a fully fixed recovery plus Custom ROM's based on the latest Stock ROM with the OTA included. Once you Root and install recovery, you kiss the carrier and their attempts at "Updates" goodbye.

Notice anything change?
i haven't rooted yet, so i told it to install later. i'll root tonight so that i know i can have it, sounds like the update doesnt take root away, it could keep you from rooting if you arent yet tho..
Oh crap, did the update and it looks like I'm soft bricked(?). I can only get to TWRP, and can't reboot the phone (always goes back to TWRP, no matter what I do, even after Factory Reset). PLEASE HELP!!
(Verizon G2)
I'm not sure if I can attribute this to the ota update but my wifi performance has been really glitchy. Constant disconnect/reconnect.
I can't say it's due 100% to the ota because wifi will occasionally get spotty due to the sheer amount of wifi APs and traffic at my workplace.
Anyone else experience this? BTW I'm rooted.

I'm in the same boat, stuck in TWRP loop won't reboot. Downloading files to get back to stock, so will try to put into download mode once everything is downloaded (2.3gb file is taking a while)...I'm sure it'll be resolved soon enough. Will report back if it works.

Sane with my nexus 7 2012 version. Download verification failed twice. Now its been over 20 hours where the tablet is stuck on the retry download screen. Does anyone know how to resolve this ?
One of the first thread in general section: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2145848
I'm having exactly the same problem. Pressing retry doesn't do anything!

Looks like we are all waiting until the next batch of updates roll out. Two options from here, wait patiently for the update to appear again, or install it manually.
I'm not really one for waiting so this could be painful haha

Same problem. What are you guys planning to do?
Mine downloaded the whole file and then failed. So close yet so far!

Change the date and try again. I switched to manual date and time, advanced a month and hit retry and downloaded perfectly! hope this works for others

I have a similar problem. I have a Nexus 4 bought in the UK, and being used in India. Completely stock, no root or boot unlock. I got the 4.3 OTA update without a hitch in India.
I got the notification for 4.4 OTA a few days ago. But the device just downloads the 238.9 MB update again and again and says "verification failed" each time. After downloading a few times, it stops for the day and says "couldn't download" as the OP says.
This process is eating up my battery and wifi data. Does anyone have any suggestions? Could the update be failing because I'm in the wrong country?
Thanks
google "nexus 4 factory images"
it'll take you to the official download page from google. Download the file, extract, and run the batchfile.

I got the OTA. I simply installed TunnelBear (VPN with monthly 500MB free), chose the UK server option, and waited. Either it worked or Google fixed their update system at the same time.
Hi there, fellow android users !
So here is my problem: Yesterday my phone downloaded the kit kat update and tried to install it, but at about 70% i got an error so after about 5 minutes of waiting i just turned it off then on again, but now when i click on "check for update" it says it's up to date and yet i'm at 4.3.
So i tried sideloading it but i got "error in /tmp/update.zip(status7) update aborded", is there anything i can do to fix this and get 4.4 (i'm willing to wipe everything on my phone ?
Thank you !
Solution.

Hi all,
I ran into this issue on my S4 (AT&T i337) when I updated my ROM. In my case it was a result of a dirty flash. The xposed framework was not installed on my phone after the flash, but Wanam was attempting to run. I reinstalled the framework, rebooted and the problem is now gone!
Hopefully this helps someone out.
