[Q] Selecting ART Runtime - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a way to verify if I'm on running ART runtime already?
What happens is, when i tick ART on dev options, it asks me to restart. After it reboots, i check the runtime on dev options again and it says there "Use Dalvik" still.
I'm running on Neatrom v2.2 ART compatible.

Maybe you've XPOSED FRAMEWORK installed... Xposed breaks art...
:fingers-crossed:

Thanks man. Cleared things up

I have been trying to set ART as my runtime environment. It asks me about the change in the library and reboots my device. But then again while checking in the developers option it shows me dalvik as the runtime environement. What should I do in order to use the delights of ART.My phone is rooted with stock kitkat image.

Do you use Xposed? I know that only works with Dalvik at the moment and actively resets that setting to Dalvik.

Yeah i use that module just to extent my greenify features. Is there any way to use exposed and make ART work at the same time?
Quote from rovo89: "After installing Xposed, the runtime gets reset from ART to Dalvik. Can you stop it please?
You can be glad that I implemented this, otherwise you would be in a bootloop know. Xposed isn't compatible with ART (yet). It's a completely different architecture with pretty much no documentation. I hope that I can rewrite Xposed for the ART runtime, but don't expect it in the near future. It requires understanding the concept, the code structure and many details to know how it works. Afterwards, I have to think about ways to hijack it and this needs to be implemented, tested and improved again and again. So please don't ask when it will be available - you will surely know when it is ready." Plz search xda before asking theses questions if you had you'd have found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401

it has been answered already, the op is just dumb enough to not read the sec post of xposed thread, witch says that it sets back to dalvik, so your answer is wrong, and you also are dumb enough to not read all posts//or u just wanna win more posts.
Is it that I will have to remove all the apps which does not support ART?I have greenify as well as titanium backup and removing xposed also did not help. What should I do?
I'm guessing you just uninstalled xposed without removing the framework... Sigh

Xposed for Lollipop is available

Finally, Xposed for Lollipop is now available, Rovo89 finally solved the challenge. Here is the link to main thread.
This is what I have been waiting for, now I will seriously make the move. CM12, here I come. It is still an alpha build, so expect some issues.
Apparently, it will bootloop with Samsung stockROM
Anyone got it working on our cm12? It does not for me but I'm not sure if it's just the particular modules I'm using.
Youtube adaway and network speed indicator.
Unfortuately, I'm out travelling w/o my T-900, why I can't test it for the moment. But, here are some quotes that might help:

After some extensive testing I managed to install the xposed framework. I hope my post will help others with the same problems.
1) Install the APK
2) Install SELinuxModeChanger
3) Start SELinuxModeChanger and switch to permissive.
4) Flash the framework through recovery
5) Start the xposed GUI. It will show that the framework is not installed. Select the soft reboot option in the xposed GUI, accept SU access and wait for the reboot to finish.
6) Start the xposed GUI. Now it shows no errors and you can install modules.
After each ROM upgrade you have to reinstall the framework. After each (hard)reboot you have to perform a soft reboot to activate the framework.

3/8/2015 - updated Xposed Lollipop
Just an FYI update: rovo89 just made an updated Xposed version available.
Note: both installer and arm are updated, and most issues with CM12 seem resolved.
Also multiwindow works pretty well, I have been using XHalo Floating Window's latest beta a while. Use settings
- Popup WindowPopup Dim set to 0
- Popup Behavior - check "Force New Windows in Halo"
- Activate the Movable & Resizable tab
You will also need to use Floatifications, or MultiWindowSidebar to launch your apps.
The big secret is setting your kernel to permissive, and to install the apk before flashing the arm file.

Guide to install Xposed Installer[even CM 12.1],. list of working &non working module
hi guys,..lets install xposed installer...btw we got official support for 5.0.x and 5.1.x...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
WARNING: after installation dont try every modules for now..try one by one and keep stock img incase of bootloop..[although there is option for uninstalling xposed installer through adb] and I'm not responsible for bricked phone, try on your own risk
Before installing, sdk21 is for android 5.0.x and sdk22 is for Android 5.1.x (cm12.1) please remember this
Steps:
First You need Root- see here
then after obtaining root ,install busybox from here . After installation, open app and click install..
Now there are 2 methods.. 1] twrp flashing and 2]using ADB ...can use any ,choose which is easy for you
TWRP method
[Note: just download whatever version is available in the link below, just make sure it is has x86 and sort off like the files which i am mentioned below]
Go here get XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk, xposed-v78-sdk21-x86.zip,xposed-uninstaller-x86.zip, [these three enough for us]
place the xposed-v78-sdk21-x86.zip,xposed-uninstaller-x86.zip,XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk in SD...
install XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk as normal apk
goto twrp, then flash xposed-v78-sdk21-x86.zip,reboot thats all..it will wipe cache,so ur apps will optimized
if u had bootloop due to xposed at some point..use twrp and flash xposed-uninstaller-x86.zip thats all..
ADB method
download the zip from here
extract the zip anyhere and connect the switched ON zenfone 2 with USB ( usb debugging must be on)
launch InstallXposedFramework.bat ,wait till framework installation is finished (phone cache will be wiped and will reboot)
Launch InstallXposedInstaller.bat to install xposed apk. and thats it.
after installing ur xposed will look like this PIC and this PIC or see the attachment for more pics on verifications
if u had bootloop due to xposed at some point..plug the phone while bootloop,..use RemoveXposedFramework.bat from that folder..thats all
TWRP method For CM12.1 [NO MORE RANDOM BOOTLOOP]
[Note: just download whatever version is available in the link below, just make sure it is has x86 and sort off like the files which i am mentioned below]
Go here get xposed-v78-sdk22-x86.zip, xposed-uninstaller-x86.zip, XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk,
place the xposed-v78-sdk22-x86.zip,xposed-uninstaller-x86.zip,XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk in SD
install XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk as normal apk
goto twrp, then flash xposed-v78-sdk22-x86.zip,reboot thats all..it will wipe cache,so ur apps will optimized
if u open and see the framework it would be like this PIC
if u had bootloop due to xposed at some point..use twrp and flash xposed-uninstaller-x86.zip thats all..
download modules,enjoy xposed
To update Xposed framework :
Using twrp [get the latest xposed-v78-sdk2x-x86.zip alone flash it ]
using adb [get the zip from here ,then just double click InstallXposedFramework.bat ,and wait for reboot....thats all]

Note:if you try any module please tell the feedback on this thread.. I will add them in list, and sometimes some modules gives bootloop but while bootloop, press and hold the power button.. It will switch off, now start again.. Do this for 3 or 4 times and wait for 5 mins in each start..

seems like your xposed module list is incompatible with current xposed modules that you installed on your phone..i read it somewhere before, android 5.0 seems to have bug when you installed xposed on it, but forgot on how to fix it..maybe you should check if you have some incompatible xposed module installed..

[Q] Gravitybox [MM] unresponsive?

Anyone having issues with GravityBox [MM] "Not responding?" I'm having no luck. I tried reinstalling the Xposed framework with and without 'Mount /system read/write' box ticked, wipe cache and dalvik, nothing. I do everything by the book. Am I missing something?

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge
ROM = Stockish v1 by Mortifix
Android = 6.0.1
GB = 2.7.2
Xposed = 87.1 sdk23 by wanam
Found my problem.
In Xposed settings 'Disabled Resource Hooks' was checked, unchecking this box and rebooting solved it for me.
