Means you're rooted/custom Recovery...
Flash stock and you can OTA again. Or install Wanam Xposed and turn your phone from Custom to Official.

OTA download results in "Invalid Software package"

Hi
Please help as I am trying to update my D802 from stock 4.2.2 to the latest OTA update. I do this by going to setting to update, the update is around 550mb and I am rooted through towel root. I need to update to KitKat so that I can install TWRP and flash packages and new ROMs..
Please help

[Q] On NI1 with towelroot. How do I update OTA to newest? Update failed.

I used towelroot in the past- I see now my root is gone, but phone is still custom status. OTA update fails.
I just want to update OTA with newest update (don't want to lose data/apps). Anyway to do this or will I have to odin or something to go back to stock, then update? or just odin newest version?
Thank you.
Bump please

Which recovery to use?

Hey guy's. It seems Motorola released a new update for moto x play ( Marshmallow Stock ROM) a while ago. But since i'm rooted and using TWRP, i have a newbie question: I know i have to remove root and flash stock recovery to update, but i have to flash the marshmallow one or i'm fine flashing the lollipop stock recovery?
Lollipop stock recovery. If you change system with custom rom ,flash lollipop firmware to get mm ota .

I'm alredy at Marshmallow. The update i'm talking about is a security patch and "system improvements". A OTA with about 254mb. That is the one i need to know what recovery to use. Also, sorry for not being specifc.

Samsung update for rooted phone?

Hi guys,
Been a while since I posted here. Bought my phone 910c brand new when it came out and just rooted it so I could modify the DPI. I still have the stock rom etc as I prefer to have stability.
Now I'm sort of getting bored still on KitKat and want to update the firmware.
First step I took was to make the phone "official" in wanam and then download the update ota. This didn't work as there was an android with belly open and triangle.
Now I'm thinking I will update via Pc Samsung kies. Will this work? And will I still have root access to change the DPI or do I need to reroot afterwards?
Thanks.
Updated via kies last night then had to root again.
Does anyone know how I can change the DPI for the stock apps back to 640?
Since I'm on stock rom xposed is not recommended for marshmallow?
One sure and safe way to update your firmware is via PC Odin. Just download your official firmware from Samfirmware website. MM is best in my opinion.
You can root your phone afterwards and install Xposed by Wanam, not the official Xposed zip file.
