Hello,
Tried to root my note 3 4.4.2 N9005XXUENA6
i used odin3.07 with CF-Auto-Root-hlte-hltexx-smn9005
But ti will not boot in any way and as stated by Mr. Chainfire
"NOTE: Sometimes the device does *not* boot into recovery mode and root your device. Just do the entire procedure again if this happens. If it still will not install root and such, make sure that in Odin "Auto Reboot" is not checked. Then after flashing, pull the battery, and boot with VolUp+Home+Power button to boot into recovery manually. This will start the install process."
it won't boot.(stays in a loop ? )
Flashing back to N9005XXUENA6 is no problem and then it is working properly
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466423
Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Reflash the latest CF and it should be OK, sounds like you're using the older one.

Try flashing cwm by chenglu or philz. Both will give you root access as well. Either way you seem don't mind flagging knox to 0x1. Is your phone international n9005 and network unlocked?
I'm new to the rooting world

Just the same as you did using cf auto root but you'll need this instead.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2454079
Choose the one either jb or kk.
Did you turn off reactivation lock before trying to root?
Afraid that's the one causing your phone to hangup at the screen. Remove battery and turn on your phone if it can boot normally in OS

Ok, so my reactivation lock is off. I re-downloaded the CF-Auto-Root and I got my phone to work.
Now, with the CWM Based recovery, do I place into the PDA slot in Odin? Or is it not necessary anymore?
On root checker, it hangs and doesn't give me a definite answer
So I'm pretty sure my phone isn't rooted, but for now, its working fine.

So you flash again cf auto root successfully?. If yes your phone should be rooted now so you dont need cwm anymore except you want to flash custom rom or mods.
Can't remember when i flash cf last time whether there is superSU in the app drawer or not. Can you see it in the phone?. Try install superSU from Playstore and update binary and rerun root checker.
Still if you want to flash cwm just put it in pda

I installed SuperSu and restarted my phone and that, opened up root checker and BAM, I'm rooted.
If I were to install CWM, would I need to rewrite my binary for SuperSU

First check setting>general>about phone. Check what is android version either 4.3 or 4.4.2.
If it is 4.3 download either the followings
https://mega.co.nz/#!C0Y1RbyT!Iq1A1Aaef1qioyDHkGQVtkRUdGN0LCa37umKGMDyDs8
You need to install mega from playstore to download it

Nope, you can flash anything as you have administative (root) rights now, just flash compatible stuff for your phone (like N9005 fi).
You don't need root to flash recovery/kernel/rom...That's a myth.

Yep. Rooting is just gaining Admin access within your software.
To replace Windows on your computer you don't need an Admin to do it for you, you restart and make sure it boots into the DVD drive, then you format and reinstall.
Same thing with a normal Samsung phone. You enter Download Mode (DVD Drive) -> Odin (Installer) -> ROM/Kernel/Recovery in .md5 format (Contents of new OS/partition data etc)
As the ROM, Kernel and Recovery are different partitions of the phone's SoC, Download mode can overwrite anything on there as they are independent on each other when they aren't booted.
I find I have less problems if I root first, but that's just me...
Hi all,
I rooted my smg900f two days ago and flashed a recovery, everything went fine, I tried a couple of custom rom and at some point I noticed that I didn't have root access anymore (checked with root checker). I launched towelroot again, and now it says that my device is not supported yet. Does anybody encountered the same issue ?

I have clockwork recovery, I had Omega ROM running on my phone (maybe at this moment I already lost root but I only noticed it after), I tried to flash this mod, it didn't work so after a few tries I full wiped my phone and insalled Omega 8.0 again. Then I noticed I lost root access when trying to open some apps.
I also flashed the bootloader for SMG900F featured in the Omega rom thread
That's about it

Hello, is there a way to bypass a lockscreen of the galaxy s4 intl jfltexx without losing data, usb debugging is not enabled and doesnt have CWM installed and is NOT rooted.
If none of that is possible, is there a way to install CWM without losing any data?
Thanks in advance!

Another thing I'd like to add: the phone is not rooted
first, you forgot your pass, or pattern lock?
if you want to flash cwm or any other recovery, u need to root you're phone first
once is rooted you'll have a rooted phone, with stock rom and you don't lose any data
but if u want to flash any custom rom, u need a full wipe, and you'll lose everything

You dont loose any data or anything. But is your phone i9505? I think this nethod does not work for i9505..you can flash recovery..but unsure about rooting..
■You can flash philz.
Download Odin. Download Philz.
Put your phone in download mode and connect your phone.
Once you see a yellow trigger in odin, press the PDA part and select the philz recovery .md5/.tar and flash. You shall loose nothing.
■Use a memory card reader to put deknox script in it and flash.
■Reroot via philz.
■Then download the latest binaries and flash it.
You will have a working superuser.
Now carry on

Incorect.
You don't need to be rooted to have a custom recovery. Root and a custom recovery are two complete independant things.
Just flash the custom recovery true Odin and that's all you need to do.
You can do multiple things. Google for "bypass lockscreen kitkat" and you will get plenty of results.
