say yes to removal of knox and also try apps like ota root keeper
sometimes after enabling survuval mode in super su results in ota failure cos sometimes it happens that you remove some system apps after rooting { which i am sure you also have done } and the update consist of files for those uninstalled apps then you get such error
I have installed ota root keeper now.
in status it shows root acces.
In superSU i have unticked ota survival.
Tryed again to install update from ota but still have error.??

Why don`t you just flash the new updated rom with Mobile Odin Pro and enable Everroot and the other 2 options and keep root and forget about these OTA`s. Roms are available at Sammobile.com/firmwares. Just wipe or rename the OTA policy and notifications.

I have Mobile Odin.. But it says that my device is not compatible or something...
If i just make the update from KIES.. Can I then get rooted again by CF-Root ? And if I do CF-Root.. Will I still be able to get updates from OTA or KIES =?

What S5 model do you have mate that MOP is not compatible? If i we`re you i`d forget about OTA`s anyway and just flash the updated rom with (Mobile) Odin. OTA`s suck imo.
To disable OTA`s and notification go to /system/app/FWUpgrade.apk (+odex file) and delete it and in /system/priv-app/FotaClient.apk(+ odex file) and delete it.
Yes, you can use CF Auto Root to root again.

I uninstalled Kies myself, if you accept the OTA it will probably not be installed because you are rooted. I would download the new rom from Sammobile and flash it wirh Odin. Have you tried clearing the data of Mobile Odin Pro because the G900F IS compatible with MOP.

You'll have to flash new firmware via Odin and then root again. Sammobile.com is a good place to look for new released stock firmware.

Or you can wait for Chainfire to update Mobile Odin Pro to be compatible with the GN3.
Then you'll be able to flash the updated firmware directly from your GN3, and keep both data and root.
I rooted and use wanam to fake modified to official. Then I check OTA. This way server will not reject me by said system modified.

From my experience, if you root your phone, and do NOT flash a new rom, then you will receive OTA updates, but unless you enable OTA survival, you will lose root after an OTA upgrade.
If you want OTA updates, root the stock rom without installing a new rom.
Also can someone tell me if I install stock rom with odin,I will be able to receive updates?.Ive knox 0×1

I forgot about that....you do need the stock recovery. I have done an OTA on my S4 with root though... you just can't have a custom recovery.

Ota Updates are only factory to be able to install the 3e recovery rooted or non-rooted.
Just make sure your system status is official not custom , u can modify that through wanam xposed
And if you firmware is not the same original region , go to /efs/imei/mps_code.dat , and change it to the current firmware region

It isn't stock binary status that is needed, but the stock 3e recovery is. Custom recoveries do not have the ability to do an OTA upgrade.

Okay.. i know that after rooting, I can not use the OTA update. It shows the device status as modified/unofficial.
But i found an xpose module which allows to fake the official status, and the OTA update proceeds.
If I download it and process with it, what will happen?
Anyways i am on factory kernel, firmware, just rooted with CF AUTO ROOT and have xposed modules.

It still downloads, but will fail to apply the update. At least on my device.
Just give it a try. It will download an update and reboot to recovery mode to install.
If you are lucky it will work.
If not, you can download full stock firmware for your device, and flash it via Odin software (No data will be lost).
I have a samsung galaxy s5 sm-g900f model rooted with cf auto root and it has a software update available so I want to unroot to recieve that ota update without wiping data
All the threads I could find suggest to install a firmware pda file which as I know wipes data
Any solution?
Thanks in advance
Flash the new ROM with ODIN, the only thing you'll lose is root, then you can use CF Auto Root again
That's how I update
samobile dot com will have the new ROM, or check the link in my sig for MEGA links, BOE5 is latest

What is your Knox status? Cf auto root trips Knox flag and it should mean you won't be able to receive ota notifications..

I think my knox is 0x1 but I recieved the update notification and when I tried to update it said "the operating system in your mobile has been modified in unauthorized way" does that mean even unrooting wont make me able to get OTA updates?

You can un-root in the settings of the SuperSu app,it will remove SuperSu and all its files from your system.
However it will not reset your tripped Knox.
If you rooted through TWRP,un-rooting will not remove TWRP , this can only be done by flashing a stock ROM through Odin.

So if your rooted with cfroot and get an update from samsung, just use supersu to unroot, install the update, and root again? The update should install with even with knox tripped right?
Isn't there a way of flashing just the recovery rather than a whole rom? It seems that's what the updates are looking for when they try to install themselves.

Nonsense. KNOX won't affect OTAs at all; if you have a stock unrooted rom installed you'll get OTAs.
You can flash a newer ROM over an older rom in ODIN and retain your settings and data. There's a chance your ROM won't work properly though and you might get some System UI crashes in which case you will need to nuke your data.
how can i find a stock rom for my phonemy baseband version is G930FXXU1APB6 and its a g930fd the only ones ive found are saudi arabia and pakistan. can anyone give me a hand
If you're just worried about getting ota updates, just use flashfire. It will apply the update without losing root, apps or settings.
