Hi everyone,
I'm thinking about selling my note 3 but my Knox counter has been tripped. Has anyone tried selling their note 3 with Knox tripped? Or maybe you have bought a note 3 with Knox tripped already?
Any tips, suggestions or opinions on how I should proceed would be appreciated.
I feel obliged to be honest when selling my phone but I don't want to scare off a buyer when I explain it may not be fully covered by warranty anymore.
Because ultimately when is the average user ever going to need Knox features? Never.

Geez, not even enough space to add in that question mark at the end. Anyway, did you manage to claim warranty after tripping your KNOX counter? What was their response/reaction? Do you think it's in their policy to allow/disallow such a thing, or is it just a person-by-person basis?
Yes. Im able.

Samsung doesn't go by telco warranty like iphones.... Samsung will honour/honour? the warranty at their various warranty service centre.
i just saw a thread here in the general section of our note 10.1 2014 edition with peopel debating whether or not samsung will honor warranties of devices with the KNOX tripped. so i thought i'd post up a poll just to see how many people have successfully gotten their devices warrantied even with knox tripped.
So: where you able to get your device warrantied even with KNOX tripped?
Reading through the note 3 forums has made it clear to me that the results of sending in tripped devices are inconsistent. Despite anyone's claim to the contrary, tripping knox puts your warranty at risk.
thats honestly the exact feeling i've gotten thus far. and while a simple poll is anything but proof at least we can have some kind of a ratio.
Hello,
I have started a new job and my phone is too big now to carry around in my workplace and is likely to get damaged.
I was thinking of selling it to mazuma or something similar but was wondering if they will take it with Knox tripped? I am thinking they probably won't even check as I sent my note 2 in rooted and got my cheque in the post.
What do you think.
Cheers.
I dont know about the site, but i dont think they will care, they will only care from a warranty stand point. but from what i understand all the phones sold their are provided without warranty anyway? so i dont think they would care much, And if someone buys a Note 3 for Knox it would probably be a company not an individual

Thanks for the reply:good:
I know this is an old thread, however its top of google search for related queries.
My KNOX tripped mobile was received by MazumaMobile today and has status "PROBLEM -- FAULTY OPERATING SYSTEM".
The phone is fine, however has KNOX trip warning on boot up.
They have reduced the £180 offer to £80. Needless to say, I have requested the phone be returned.
Hi,
I am thinking about rooting my Note 4. I didn't want to root because of my warranty but recently I found a thread here on XDA saying that here in the EU, unless the seller (in my case O2 CZ) can prove that the problem on the device is caused by software, they still have to repair my phone even if I had a custom ROM on it. Now I am wondering if this law applies to Samsung phones as well because of their KNOX things. Also I was reading the terms on my warranty with O2 and it said that the warranty is voided if you modify the software, so I am not sure right now. Can anyone help me please. Also any personal experience with returning a phone that has been rooted before would be appreciated.
Thanks.

This is over on the S5 forum....it is pretty clear how Samsung view knox tripped devices....even in the EU....
Of course, it may all be BS & bluster on Samsungs part, but I'm not a consumer lawyer so I don't know.......

Keep it forever? Sell it to someone who knows KNOX is tripped? Don't tell the buyer?? haha
IDK..only problem I have with rooting the Samsung, resell value once KNOX is tripped?
Just wondering...Thanks. I never see any reseller with a pre-owned phone claim they rooted the phone and tripped KNOX and are selling it.
I can't trip KNOX on my S10+ as I have a U.S. snapdragon variant. However, I did trip it on my old Galaxy S3. I just kept the thing.

Hey,
i've sold my galaxy S7 two days ago. the only thing you have to do is to point out the tripped knox and the consequences. If someone isnt happy with it, GTFO
Since im rooting all my phones i dont really care about warranty. I'm living in Europe. They cant deny repair just for some software modifications due to EU-Law.
But in general im rooting for AdAway, Swift Backup, debloat my phone (YES its 2019 and im still doing it) and modify some system things (or try it )
If you're concerned about warranty or resell prices, dont root it. It lowers the price for sure since mobile paying gets more and more important and you cant use SPay after unlocking.
