Anyone else having music issues? 2-6 non working clones of mp3s are showing in my players (google music, 3, winamp) and nothing i have done has made them go away. Any ideas?
No one else having this problem?
I have this same issue. Its so irritating!! Only one plays too. Id love a fix
Stop the media scanner service under all applications, delete its data, then reboot.
v8 fixed this nonsense
The new google play music keeps crashing, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. It just says Google Play Music has stopped working. Anyone else getting this or know a fix?

If it makes you feel any better, this is a cross platform, cross ROM issue. I am having the same problem with a Samsung Galaxy Note 2, and I have seen the same problem reported on S3s, S4s, Droid Bionics, etc.
I keep looking to see if Google is providing an update, but no apparent response despite the growing chorus of complaints and reports.
I had this issue when I flashed the latest Paranoid Android alpha update and their new gapps.
I flashed previous gapps and updated everything and I'm good now.

I had this problem out of nowhere yesterday morning. I removed extensions, etc. Nothing had changed since it had worked the day before, other than their new "listen" rollout, or that pandora competitor.
It would immediately crash with an "aw, snap" every time, within a millisecond.
So I went here: support.google.com/googleplay/?rd=1#contact=1
and filled that out. Got the auto response email with some pat, boilerplate problem solving stuff.
But I didn't do ONE THING, and it fixed itself.
I have a hunch that they get receipt of that, and check your account and fix it behind the scenes. That's the only thing I can think of, because I didn't do a thing, and it stopped working.... and started working again after I didn't do a thing (other than try to remove extensions).....
that support troubleshooter may have done the trick. I am back up and running.
I had the same problem when upgrading to Play Music 5.0.something; what I did to overcome the FC's:
1. Clean cache Download Manager
2. Clean cache Play Music
3. Clean cache Media Storage
4. Reboot
I had the same problem and uninstalled updates to roll back to the prior version. Then on Friday, I saw the update pending and decided to try again. Somehow, it did indeed fix itself. However, what I notice now is that it likes to un in the background on its own from time to time -- enough that it seems to be interfering with battery life . . . .
Works fine for me, never had an issue. I don't use it though as I don't listen to music on my phone
I have an s4 running a Google edition custom rom. It's 5.0.1 and has been just fine since I installed the from for maybe almost 2 months now. Recently it has developed a video problem where the video stops about a minute in but the audio still plays. This happens on the local player and streaming apps too. I have searched the web for answers and it seems many ppl have this issue and is not limited to s4 models. The only way to resolve it is a full wipe, but after a few days the problem comes back. Has anyone heard of this and what I can possibly do to stop it. I have tried clearing caches in all settings and gradually uninstalling recent apps but just can't get to the bottom of it. It's sooooooo annoying

Flash another one or flash stock and report as a bug to rom creator?

have anyone faced an issue where music stopsplaying and you have to reboot the device in order to play it again???
Never heard of such an issue. But you need to be far more specific around here..
1. What music player are you using? Try using a few and see if the same problem occurs.
2. What version of OxygenOS are you running?
3. Did you do a full wipe before/after upgrading OxygenOS?
Quite often a factory reset will solve software issues like these. Have you tried that out?
using mp3 files, nothing special tbh
did not try before upgrading to the latest version I have which is Oxygen 2.1.2
the issue is basically that after several songs in some cases skipping songs it stops playing them, it has happened on 2 different apps, walkman and google music. even if you look for a new song/file it just wont play. the time of the song remains on 0:00
"Music temporarily unavailable: Couldn't play the stream you requested"
Has anyone been having this issue using Google play music? Ever since April 1st none of my streamed music plays the first try. I thought it was an April fools thing honestly... But it kept happening. I have to keep pressing play continuously until it plays otherwise that message pops up. Google support was no help. Did the usual wiping data, etc. Even flashed a totally different ROM (went from pure nexus to chroma) and nothing. Googling didn't work either, nobody seems to have the issue lately. Just wondering if anyone else has had it?
I should also mention it happens both WiFi and data. And Spotify works perfectly. I'd like to keep my YouTube red access with Google music but I'm getting ridiculously frustrated now
