[Q] Multiple User Galaxy Note 3 sm n9005 problem - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, i'm new in this forum and i hope you'll help me, I installed multi user on my galaxy note 3 sm n9005 and checked the module on xposed framework. After that i rebooted my phone and i created a new profile but a ''restricted profile'' but now i see that the ''users'' can be delected and the ''restricted profiles'' no. I'd like to remove that restricted profile and i tried by using the terminal emulator using first ''su'' to get supersu permission and then ''pm remove-user'' and the user id but nothing, I also tried to unistall the app and reboot my phone but when I re install the app the profile is still there and it get a part of my storage. What can i do? Please help me.
p,s. my rom is Echoe Rom.

Log into the user you want to delete, go to the user in settings.. press menu, then delete.

Thank you very much you saved me!

Its the ROM you flashed. Maybe you should try calling the number to see who that is. Maybe its the ROM Dev stealing your number? xP I know I'm being paranoid. xP
It is a stock ROM
Model GT-S5360
Baseband: S5360XXLE1
Kernel: 2.6.35.7 [email protected]#16
Buildnummer: GINGEBREAD.XXLE1

Did you applied your home CSC after flash, and/or wiped data/cache?
Well, I'm converting (nowadays by SplitFUS2) the Samsung files without any modification.
But! For wipe packs I'm including the userdata.img file, which was extracted from an old multi-files pack, named "S5360XXKI6_bysamsdroid.rar". This pack may be considered as insecure, and theoretically might have some hidden "inappropriate" things which I'm not aware , but if it's true then there were hundreds of complaints according to this SMS, I think...
Have You used some Indian custom ROMs in the past maybe?
Please ask questions here. Thanks
-Techno
Hi,
I flashed: S5360_XXLE1_OXXLE1_XXLE1_wipe_by_SplitFUS2
Using the included CSC.
No other ROMs tried yet.
Greetings.
Sorry for putting the question to the wrong thread.
But it is really not easy to find the correct section.
That's why I stickied it, just trying to get everyone to know, no problem, just try and remember next time

Your phone has a Rootkit/Virus, firstly download AVG from Google Play and open it and scan. If any infections found remove them. Now if that doesn't stop it then flash your phone with Creeds Room v3.2 which you can find in the Galaxy Y Dev section. Hope this helps you.

you really believe in antivirus apps for android?
just try to look at permissions on the apps on your phone try to find ones that has
"Enable services that cost you money"
or find a permission finder app on google play
Have you checked your third party sms app? -if you do have a third party sms app, you should! Check for any auto-send or auto-reply sms.
Also . . .
There are ways to send sms with commands depending on carrier. Like in philippines there is this fcuking sms that you send to any number, once they open it, your phone will hang and makes your sms permanent -no way of deleting it and it's not curse of silence remote vulnerability.
-perhaps someone sent you an sms with a code.
SMS these days are more like a html page, where you can embed stuff.
I suggest you do full flash -unless you want to spend your free time investigating on what's happening to your phone.
-just saying, I may be wrong. Hahaha
looks like its a malware from an app you downloaded from a black market (maybe) and installed on your phone. google reported that they too removed some apps from their own google play store because of these types of malwares. one example was another angrybird game which was not official ... i read it from a security site.
what i would suggest is for you to do a clean factory reset, then clean flash of any official stock rom. next time be careful on the apps you install on your phone.

it wouldnt hurt using one, win viruses are different from linux malwares but they do exist on android (linux). android is a target for many hackers and "skids" because of its big userbase and it is opensource.
The problem of the SMS comes from installing a custom ROM that is from India and the rom is based on an old stock rom, like Creeds, because +91 is from india
I tried Creeds Rom - same thing.
sending SMS again.
apps:
* no black market tools
* no autosending sms tools
Going back to stock rom.
Without installing any apps.
and check again.
is there a pssibility to trace sms?

Unable to click install button from apk file

I am currently running the latest paranoid android Rom on my nexus 4 using Franco's milestone 2 kernel. I am having problems installing apps that I downloaded (e.g., Adobe flash update). What happens is I can see the installation screen with the different permissions, but I cannot click on the install button. It works when I install apps from the play store but not through root browser, astro, es explorer. I have tried other apks to make sure it's not just that one file. As well, I had even removed those dimmer apps like twilight and lux before installing. I also stopped the running applications and then tried installing. I'm stumped and I have no idea what to try next. Maybe there is another uncommon app that I need to uninstall before installing off my card...
If anyone has any suggestions, that would be greatly appreciated.

Disable HALO if you want to install apk`s.
Geez. You know how to flash paranoid android but not how to search? This has been mentioned many times..
Disable screen filter if you by any chance using it
It happened to me yesterday and it was found it was caused by file screen.

Disable Halo, then you can install it.
If you actually looked through the PA thread, you'd see this has been answered over 50 times within the last few pages.

you can not install adobe flash from the play store, flash does not support android 4.2.2. yoy would need to install it from the adobe site list of past flash updates. same with any other app from the play store that doesnt support the nexus 4 or the right android version.
thanks

AppWidgetDisplay
Also AppWidgetDisplay for Sony Smartwatch causes such behavior.
There is another way which will always work, If you don't want to waste your time.
Just use adb to install. As shown in the post below.

Apk not installing?

Hi guys,
does anyone know how can we overcome security limitations in installing apk on galaxy s4? I am trying to install penetrate pro, (which worked fine on galaxy s3 btw) but for some reason although it allows me to start installing it...in the end it say, app not installed.
Any help or hints are appreciated.
Are you using screen filter app? I encountered something like this before, apk's won't install while the screen filter app is enabled.

Stopped reading after this. Mercy level @ zero.
You will not receive help from XDA if you use warez apps like you mentioned.
XDA is a forum for developers so we deeply condone any action that rips off developers, such as warez.

[Urgent]Help please, app with no name on my phone

Today I found this weird app on my all apps list...the app has no name, shows version number 1.0 & has all sorts of permissions....I encountered this app few weeks ago & thought it was a virus & I factory reset my phone, went back to my stock ROM through Nandroid backup & then installed the Hyperion8 pre GM port of Y duos.....& this app is back again today...it was not even there yesterday & there was no device administrator account added before I found this unnamed app....when I found this unnamed app today,I saw that there was Android Device Manager (part of Google Play Services) added as a device administrator...so,could this unnamed app be a system app??? I extracted the APK & did a virus scan on virustotal & Netqin & both say the app is secure.....I scanned my device using Avast,Bluebox security scanner & Malwarebytes (I downloaded this after seeing the unnamed app today) & all of them reports that my device is secure & there are no malicious apps.....did anyone experience any similar app with no name & having lots of permissions?? Plz report...if this is a system app or if this really is a virus...I have attached the screenshots & the apk file...can any dev have a look of this APK plz??
PS:- DO NOT INSTALL THE APK ON YOUR DEVICES...IT IS FOR THE DEVELOPERS TO INSPECT WHAT THE FILE REALLY IS
Virustotal Report:- https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/...25dedf2ff1d5ecea6d1f5462/analysis/1382782081/
NetQin Report:- http://scan.netqin.com/open/rpc?key=20002000&style=rpchtml&category=webscan&lang=en
I think it is the part of the Android Device Manager, if i'm not wrong.

Do you guys also have such an app with no name on your phone?? Plz let me know....this app did not appear until Android Device Manager shows up in the Device Administrator list & all the antiviruses are reporting the file as safe & my phone as secured

Is that device Rooted/running custom ROM/Has sideloaded apps?? Or does it have stock ROM with apps coming from play store only
I just want to know this in order to make sure that it is not a custom ROM issue

the unnamed app on your phone has full permissions to modify anything on your phone? I'm asking this coz in the screenshot that you gave, the app size is 0bytes & the one on my phone is 20KB & has device administrator permissions...it's only when I extracted the app that I saw that it is a system app & is present in the installer of all custom ROMs
