Alright, I've been doing some reading, and want to make sure I have this right. Here's my specs
Model: SGH-I337
Version: 4.4.2
Baseband: I337UCUFNC1
Kernel: 3.4.0-1125940
I am rooted with towelroot.
Now, from what I read, the only recovery this phone can use is safestrap? And, I can only use TW roms? So, before I flash a rom, I need to flash safestrap? Also, looking through the roms that I can use, I get a little lost. Can someone point me to a compatible rom with nice audio and customization tweaks?
EDIT: Also, on flashing safestrap, do I need to flash the NB1 modules even though i'm NC1?

i cant figure out why safestrap isn't working
Ugh, I'm rooted, but safestrap will not install correctly. it will say "install completed" but it's not installed. When I go into recovery, I still have the stock recovery, and the safestrap app still says "not installed". AND, I figured out the modules thing. I just need a working recovery. Help?
try downloading selinux mode changer and change to permissive.

Hey!
I recently rooted my GS4 i337. Everything is all working as of now. However, I want to flash an AOSP ROM onto it. So, I followed instructions and at first, I flashed TWRP to my phone. It said it was successful, but when I go to recovery it puts me in ODIN. I then uninstalled TWRP and got the latest version that is said to support i337 GS4. Flashed successfully, but when I boot it still goes ODIN.
I tried both manually recovery booting with the buttons, and the UI on the actual app. Boots ODIN both ways.
Is there something I'm doing wrong? How can I boot into TWRP or CWM so I can make a quick ROM backup and flash an AOSP ROM?
Cheers! And if this is the wrong section, can a moderator please move it? I'm new to this forum.
Thanks.

Unless your on mdl firmware you can't flash twrp or cwm. I'm guessing you're not.

Don't think so, my baseband is UCUEMK2 on 4.3. So, there's no way to get any custom ROMs on this? What can I do so I can?

I found this a video on how to use Safestrap on 4.3.
It's for the Verizon variant but the SE Linux matches, can I give Safestrap a shot?
EDIT: Scratch that, I've found an ATT compatible version (3.71) and it booted into it perfectly! Now I can backup my stock ROM real quick and flash on my new one! Thanks!!
Hey I just have a quick question here. Is there a way to get wifi to work on a custom rom on the ATT GS4 (MK2) because not matter what rom I flash on it the wifi always breaks but when I go back to stock it works just fine. I even tried flashing the modem file but to no avail. If I can't I can understand I was just wanting to know if there's a workaround to this. Thanks to anyone who helps .
You need to flash the MK2 modules. Do some more reading. The modules are in the Safestrap thread.

Well when I first tried to install a custom rom I used this website to flash the modules and that was when I realized my wifi wasn't working on it. I'll just read up some more I suppose. Thanks for the response .

Off to a good start then. Install safestrap 3.72 if you haven't already.
Here's a quick rough guide on how to get a custom rom working (switch PurifieD with whatever you'd like to use, note you are limited to TouchWiz. A list of 'confirmed' working roms can be found here, but note if they mess with the kernel there may be Knox 0x1)
Install and boot into Safestrap 3.72, flash PurifieD (wipe not necessary)
If you wish to keep Knox happy with 0x0, do not let PurifieD modify the kernel during the Aroma installer when it asks
Flash an i337 build.prop in order to get 4G LTE working again (you have service without this, but this lets you access LTE again) (you can find this here!)
Flash the WiFi module in order to get wifi working again (WiFi will NOT work unless you flash this) (you can find this here!)
(Optional, I had to do this as I had issues with keeping root on PurifieD, though you might not!) Flash SuperSU again (you can find this here!

Yup, that's the problem I was having. You have to downgrade to MK2 again, root using whatever you prefer, and start over but this time after flashing the ROM, immediately flash SuperSU (i linked it in my other post).

Please provide more information.
- What bootloader do you have? Did you ever take NB1 OTA?
- What version of Graviton are you flashing?
- What version of safestrap do you have?
- If you are flashing kitkat version, are you following the Deadly Venom Tool?
The more information you provide, the easier it will be to assist.

Did you flash AT&TNB1KernelModules.zip (file present in the tool extract) along with the ROM? After the rom flash and before phone rebooted, did you put the phone in download mode and flash the NB1 ap/bl/cp files from the tool?
Also, only stock slot in safestrap works for kitkat.
If you have done all these, please provide the exact step by step operations you have done.

I'm running 4.4.2 ATT NB1 stock rooted rom. I have Safestrap 3.72 downloaded, and Graviton_S4_v3.0_20140502_SafeStrap.zip as well as the AT&TNB1KernelModules.zip. I reboot into recovery click install (on stock rom slot) and add the Graviton_S4_v3.0_20140502_SafeStrap and AT&TNB1KernerlModules zips and flash. After it fully successfully finished, I click home and boot into download mode where I flash the ap/bl/cp files from the Deadly Venom KitKat Magic Tool. It then reboots, and after the Samsung custom(with the lock), it fully goes black.

Did you wipe data anywhere in there? If not, do that. If you did, Gravitron does seem to take longer to boot first time than other ROMs so give it time.

I have been using this rom for a while on my att s4 . I recently checked out the eclipse rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2351840) . Is there any way to add that in this rom? i tried to post the question in the rom devlopment post but couldn't. Any guide on how to do that?

There is a guide by didact74 in the VZW section, but I don't think that has been updated for KitKat. There are Xposed modules that do the same thing.

I checked his guide..... Those steps are far beyond my ability :crying: Most i can do is flash zip files and editing build prop
I tried his flashable zip file . That didnt work. I think that only works with stock rom. I tried xposed module . didnt work either :crying:
If it's not too much to ask. is there any chance you can make a flashable zip specific for your rom? :good::good::good:

Hey!!! checked the new relese! it was awesome. btw gravity box hold for torch and double tap to turn screen of is not working. any thought?
After trying this for 6 hours today and failing miserably I feel borderline retarded.
PROBLEM: Every time I install a rom through Safestrap it boots into a black screen.
DETAILS: Phone came out of the box with MF3. After some reading I used Odin to NB1 and then installed the NC1 update.
From there I rooted with towelroot then installed the safestrap apk, and then installed the recovery.
My procedure is:
Wipe all but sd card
install rom zip
install NC1 modules
install superuser
reboot
From Safestrap I have chosen both Goldeneye rom and Shostock with the same result.
I have tried installing over the stock slot and making a new slot both with the same results.
I have had in the past and Ally, X10, S2 and now this phone and it is by far the most difficult for me for some reason.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
