Why was it decided that AT&T SG3 needs a new forum? Since models of all US carriers are the same variant, wouldn't it make sense to have a "US GS3" and a "Intl. GS3" forum instead of one for each carrier?

It's true that U.S. variants are mostly the same, but the sub-forums that'll be created later (Q&A, Development, General, etc...) will sometimes be carrier specific. Such as people asking about availability, AT&T bloatware VS Sprint bloatware, or about AT&T 3G/LTE VS Verizon's CDMA/LTE, etc.
EDIT: Hah... and the subforums were created JUST as I posted my reply.

No, they're the same.. just different radios
Why create this thread? I really enjoy having our own forum. No need to weed through crap that doesn't pertain to my device.
Lol every Galaxy get his own Forum why no Sub Forum?
For the Galaxy S2 there is also a 9100G Sub Forum.
But for the HTC One S C2 there is no Sub Forum or all Xperia U/P/Sola Threads
are in the Xperia S Forum. No Sub Forums

ya i think its a good idea for that reason...enough people have each galaxy to fill their own forum, and since the radios are different and will need a diff rom for each it will help un**** the development forums a ton

Bottom line us each variant will have very different roms and kernels....so easier not to confuse people and cause a bricking outbreak by grouping them together.

The AT&T SGS III has a SIM card slot, but some of the other US variants do not have it.
EDIT: The Sprint variant does not have a SIM slot... At least as shown in the video linked below.... FF video to 2:25
AT&T SGSII vs Sprint SGSII
Forum should be renamed to the Galaxy S III SGH-i747 forum, as Telus/Bell/Rogers in Canada are using the exact same model

Correction the sprint version does have a SIM slot with built in microsim, its just not accessible its built in underneath the phone's back housing. The reason for the SIM is because Sprint's version support their coming LTE network.

Are you being "specific" to the Sprint SGS III?... If not, elaborate... I own a network unlocked AT&T Captivate and when I travel I'm able to insert a pre-paid SIM from other GSM providers and make phone calls. You're saying that this can't not be done with the AT&T SGS III once it is network unlocked? No other network SIM will work?

Anyone else intrigued by the LG G2 South Korean variant?
Anyone have any specsheet or detailed base band info for the models?
I'd love to order one into Canada and use it on Wind Mobile (AWS carrier kinda like T Mobile in the States).
There have to be some more people considering the same?
I've seen conflicting details regarding what the model numbers for the South Korean variants are. Anyone else have any info?
For e.g. I've seen LG F320S and LG F320K and LG F320L
Do all of these come with the microSD slot and removable battery?
I guess more importantly: Which one these is compatible with the North American AWS bands?
Would appreciate any deets anyone could provide.
Thanks.

Check the LG page, it has all the frequencies. It looks like I should be alright with Fido/Rogers. I don't think it has the US LTE bands apparently, just 4g?

Wind here doesn't have 4G or LTE yet anyways so that's not a concern.
Which LG page do you speak of?
I tried to navigate to their Korean page but it was only offered in Korean and not in English.

I got myself the F320L, it is the U+ (LG's network in Korea) variant.
(4G and LTE are the same thing outside the US)
try using google translate plugin, or chrome, to translate the site.
I do remember a page with all of them listed, but can't find it right now... I'll update the post if/when I find it
Check negrielectronics, they are selling the SK version, you should be able to get your specs there.

Could you comment on battery life that you've experience compared to the reviews of the 3000mah battery?
so what do you use it on ATT or Tomobile

So you use it on ATT USA?
No no, sorry for the late reply, different time zone. I'm using it on t mobile here in Holland.
I'm not allowed to post links yet but if you do a Google search on f320l bands, you will get some results.
I don't have specific battery details yet, battery monitor widget get confused by me swapping out the two batteries
It comes with two batteries and a charger/stand.
I never paid much attention to people complaining about non-swappable batteries, but I haven't had it hooked up to a charger ever since getting it last Saturday. I did swap out the batteries a few times, but hardly every day.

I got mine too,Sk telecom variant F320S.About LTE now you can change the LTE bands from the servise menu,i already put mine on auto.It has 4 different bands there to choose,850 1800 2100 and 2600 (Channels 5,3,1,7) and auto, same goes for the other bands also. Not sure if other variants have more or no.

Question for you: if you pop off the back. Does it state f320s or f320l/s?
Mine actually states f320l/s, and although it is supposed to be the u+ version, which is a wdcma phone, I'm doing fine on hspa+
Looks to me like it's the same phone with different carrier branding

Anyone using the SK variant in NA?
So just went on the negri electronics website and compared the various models.
Seems like none of the South Korean variants would work on T-Mobile USA/Wind Mobile Canada(AWS).
They don't have the 1700 frequency listed in their 3G band.
Can someone validate that this is indeed correct?
hi guys i just got my g2 from korea, works just fine in all networks 4g and lte but here is my problem..i cannot do a hard reset on it using the hard keys, and i can only acces into it as guest.
I tried the combination of volume down + power key,it just doesnt work,no reboot screen or anything.
Any ideas?
thanks for the help in advance

I'm going to buy G2 but not sure if I should buy an International version one or Korean? I would love to have the ability to change battery and sd card but I'm afraid the developer support might not be good with the Korean version? Can it flash international rom?
I am using the korean variant ,well just because of the micro sd and removable battery. Rooting is easy and you just have to wait for custom rom to arrive.

I cannot, but I can say that it works for 3g on Fido, at the very least. It is possible that I need an 'LTE sim card' to get LTE speeds, this is my next step. For now, 3g for the F320S works for Fido.
Also, the antenna captures nothing, but once you pull it out, it looks like a phone from the 80s, so yeah, its awesome.

So what is the benefit of the South Korean model? I see you get two batteries, but at 2600mAh vs the one battery at 3100mAh, you get the micro SD slot, and the removable back cover. What other benefits would I get if I traded my US AT&T LG G2 model for the SK one?
I am a noob at this so I am just trying to make an informed decision as to whether to keep this one or look at a different different one (European vs Asian vs American, etc...).

none other than that.
I got mine as I just couldn't wait for the European release. And I have to say the swappable batteries are a treat... especially as you get an external charger with it. So he always swap in a full battery. Gets you technically 5200mAh

If the S5 turns out like any of the previous Samsung devices, then the Snapdragon one is the better to choose for development etc, in regards to stats, even though they both have different CPU's they both perform around the same rate.. So neither one is the "better" one.

Speaking of this. Does anyone know a place to buy an unlocked one in the US? I want to use it with straight talk, but don't want to have the at&t stuff on the back and on the phone. I think unlocked phones get updated quicker??

Also interested in this issue.
Hi !
I would also like to know difference between these two.
Thanks !
I think that main difference is that g9008w is for Asian market, while g900fd for european + it supports LTE A.
It's the frequencies and standards supported.
NEITHER model supports LTE-A.
The G9008W is specifically for the chinese market.
The G900FD is the 'International' version that supports a much wider range of LTE/4G standards.
Just google for the relevant models and the word frequencies to find out what you need.
I would suggest also keep to hand what frequencies your service provider(s) supports on 2G and 3G as well as 4G/LTE and then make sure the 900FD supports them.
I have used a 900FD in Europe and the US without problems but sometimes I can only use certain carriers so need to check in advance.
Great phone.
If you find the 900FD won't cover the frequencies you need also look at the HTC ONE DUAL SIM (*** M8 Version only) and again check the frequency coverage BEFORE making any purchase as there are different versions of the M8 in different markets.
Hi, I know that G928F is european and G928C is Asian. However, what exactly is the difference? I'm asking because previously the processors used to be different. However, Samsung have put the same processor in all of the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.
P.S. Which GB did you get? 32GB or 64GB?

Mainly the Modem and the bands it supports is what's different between these models, at times companies also include Country specify features like LG G3 had TV antenna for Korea version, but that's rare. Apart from that if you buy it from a specific carrier they also might some say, for instance Samsung pay not working on Verizon models.
So, for the most part it's almost identical except modem.
I got 32 as 64 isn't available in my country (yet?) But boy I love this phone, killer looks and display with an awesome camera.
