So i wanted to go back to 4.1.2 on my droid razr m that was currently on 4.4.2, Personal Issues and lags were the problem.
I followed instructions on this site and now my phone turns on and everything now the touch is unresponsive it used to work before this stupid procedure. The link to the forum is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2786016. Please help me when i did the steps it said flash failed on Ap Fastboot Mode. I would say that the Software got corrupted so Please reply back asap. With help.
:crying::crying::crying::crying:
Your boot loader is unlocked correct?... I would say rsd back to official 4.4.2... Then try the downgrade again if touch returns...

No i didnt unlock the phone and my touch hasent work since i tried to downgrade i know the digitizer isnt loose. any solutions. Please help me and how do i use RSD
Download 4.4.2 and rsd 6.1.6 just boot your phone to fastboot menu then on your PC open rsd plug your phone into the PC with in rsd select the 4.4.2 zip and flash it... Then root using towelroot and unlock your boot loader... Then downgrade if you want..... Hopefully the fresh install of 4.4.2 will return touch if not then you may have a hardware issue... But idk this guy (I believe) tried a root method that if i remember correctly pretty much downgrades you(which you can't do on a locked boot loader) so you can root an older root method and is in the same boat

Open rsd and choose the extract and install or which ever option is very similar to that I don't remember what the option is... What you did wrong was try to downgrade with a locked boot loader

When I saw the port for ICS come out I got really excited and flashed it right away. Then I realized for whatever reason I didnt have SU permissions so I couldn't tether to my computer. I was disappointed but I thought, "no biggie, I'll just restore from my back up." When I flashed my back up the SU app was in my app drawer but I still couldn't tether. As a matter of fact I can't do anything that requires SU but the bootloader still reads unlocked. WTF?
I can't flash a new recovery either. I tried installing from ROM manager, I tried pushing it from my computer but I can't get to the recovery any more. ROM manager says that I have CWM 5.0.2.0 currently installed but I can't get to it at all. Again, WTF?

^clearly the phone is working perfectly fine with the stock ROM from the back up but obviously I want my SU back.
Root your phone and read the development thread versus making blog posts.

Thanks for not answering my questions. The bootloader is unlocked but I don't have root and I don't have access to recovery mode even tho ROM Manager says I have Clockwork Mod 5.0.2.0 currently installed. I cannot access the recovery mode AT ALL. I cannot flash or push a new recovery but it fully boots into Gingerbread w/o any issues. What is wrong with my phone and how do I fix it.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA App
Try from rom manager to reinstall a previous recovery version.
Sent from my LG-P920 using XDA App
That doesn't work either. It goes through the prompts but it doesn't actually reboot do the installation.
I just tried unrooting and then re - rooting but that didn't work and I think that actually wiped my phone completely. I don't even know where an SD card would get into this thing.

Is that the right name of the recovery img? Try renaming it to just recovery and see if that works.
Edit: make sure your phone is in debugging mode. And uninstall then reinstall the drivers on your computer

manually go into recovery with volume down and power flash the su.zip and u should be good to go that wat I did

No suggestions have worked so far. It does not matter what the recovery image name is, whenever I try the flash it Terminal says that it cannot load "***.img" or if I try an install command it says that it cannot find "***.zip" I'm on a snow leopard iMac so I don't need drivers n such.
Let me pose the question like this, what would I do to completely restore the phone to factory condition and try to root it again? Like I said before, the bootloader says that it is unlocked but I do not have any root privileges, could not access the recovery I had before nor install a new recovery after having locked the unlocked the phone's bootloader again.

go to the link above and follow the directions for returning to stock.
find yourself a one-click root method on XDA that includes superuser, busybox, and CWM.
EDIT: Also, double check the md5 sum for the CWM .zip. use
Code:
md5 recovery-aaaaaa.img
in the terminal and make sure the output matches whatever is given on the CWM site. if they dont have one up, ask for it
NS4g one-click root app:
http://www.mediafire.com/?2jx8xtx2602hi23
this will:
unlock the bootloader
install cwm 5.0.2.0
root
No commands, no messing with pushing files manually, etc. This thing has already saved me from major headaches while restoring my phone once and I've only had it for 3 weeks lol

I missed that...my mistake
I am new to the droid 2, I used to use a Droid Incredible. I used the bootstrap to boot into cmrecovery to flash cyanogen. Well I got the global version because i thought they were the same. The phone turns on but doesnt really work (Turns off after 30 seconds and wont connect to the mobile network. So my question is how do you boot into cmrecovery when the phone is off so i can restore my backup
just read this its the easiest thing to do when u have a problem ! plus u have to bootstrap to get into a custom recovery jusdt sbf back and start fresh !
heres the link you need for the sbf http://forums.androidcentral.com/droid-2-rooting-roms-hacks/75388-how-sbf-back-stock.html
Looking for best guide to s off root Droid 2. Any suggestions?

Its not possible. We have a locked bootloader.

Let's start from the top. I have a razr m running the leaked 4.1.1 jb rom with the modified root that uses SuperSu instead of superuser. I went into the filesystem and swapped out my build.prop with the one from a Google galaxy nexus thinking it would allow me to download more apps from the play store. (Google wallet, etc) the phone wouldnt boot, it just locked on the motorola logo, so i went into recovery and wiped data as well as cache and tried to reinstall the jb leak, it failed because the build.prop didnt match. I fired up RSD lite and tried to fastboot back to ICS but it keeps failing on step 17/22 where its flashing the system.image.ext4. Because of the partial fastboot now the phone wont even boot to recovery, it just goes straight to the fastboot menu. If anyone could help all posts would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Your phone is repeatedly booting into fast boot because of the failed flash. This is normal and will continue until you have a successful flash. What version of RSD are you using? What does it say when it fails?
Sent from my XT907 using xda app-developers app
I am running RSD lite V5.7 on a windows XP SP3 machine. it says FAIL in the result box and ity fails system.image.ext4 because "phone returned FAIL"
Try RSD 6.1.4 and/or I seem to remember some people having to run as admin on XP if I'm not mistaken.

That did it perfectly, so glad i came to XDA before going to the verizon store and begging them not to rape my wallet! you saved my life man, youll be getting a thanks from me!
My boot loader is locked, but I have the original APK and need to copy it to the /system/app parition on my phone. Is this even possible? I've trying running it as an update, Phone.zip, but it claims the signature is not verified and restarts again.
I'm not able to do anything with ADB, since the phone seems to be "soft bricked."
Anyhelp would be awesome!
Thanks,

You need root. Then use root explorer to copy it to system/app and set correct permissions.

Ok, so I have root, but boot loader is locked, and it seems my only option is the stock recovery. It seems my phone is "soft bricked" until I'm able to obtain a signed and verified update? This is a Republic Wireless phone that was rooted, but then "soft bricked" by copy an invalid Phone.apk to the /systam/app paritition.
Thanks in advance for any help.

You cant flash files via stock recovery. Best option to save your phone is to flash SBF

Okay, since this is a Republic Wireless XT557D, I'm guess my phone is staying "soft bricked" until something is released? I'm willing to try anything with this phone, since a replacement is going to set me back $250.

You can get a SBF file which is the stock firmware of your phone and flash it with RSDLite. Then your phone will be back to normal. (thats how it works for the defy)

Anything? As oSandmaNo has stated, once you have exhausted all chances of getting ADB or poking around in terminal than it seems like, from what everyone here and on the Defy/Defy+ thread, you'll have to flash a SBF. Trying a SBF from a phone which uses the same chipset could get your phone booting - though never again working with RW.
Finding which SBFs work with your XT557D could help other 'trial and error' people too - known working 2nd-init scripts or bootloader workarounds compatible with the image you get shoe-horned in may be adaptable with minimal fuss to the XT557D as well.
Hi, I was wondering if anybody has had any progress flashing an SBF to the XT557D.. i've been stuck in a boot loop for months

I'm going to try going back to 4.1.1, rooting that then flash OTA root keeper, then flash 4.1.2. I'll let you know if this works.
I'm not trying to hijack the thread, but I'm a proud owner of a Razr Maxx (XT912) and it's running 4.1.2. I've tried 4 different ways to root it and no luck.
If I go back to 4.1.1, would I be able to root it? How would I go about downgrading to 4.1.1?

try re-downloading Supersu from the market and setting it as a system app. I think there is an XDA thread with the app whereby you can install it via CWM/TWRP to regain root.
I've come up with a solution.
1.Download the Droid RAZR M Utility 1.10
2.Select the first option
3.Put your phone into AP Fastboot then press any key
4.Once your phone reboots DO NOT except the update
5.Download the Droid RAZR M Utility 1.20
6.Select the first option
7.Put your phone into AP Fastboot then press any key
8.Once your phone reboots DO NOT except the update
9.Enable USB Debugging and select option 5 in the utility
10.You're back on 4.1.2 and you're rooted again
