First off this isn't ruining my life :silly:
A few times a day I try to wake the phone by pressing the power button but the screen stays black, the buttons light up but no display. I then have to press the home button to give it a nudge.
Sometimes I will wake the phone swipe my print and it gets the green light except the screen locks its self again..
Not too sure if its the S-view flip that's causing problems. Either way any input appreciated.

Known bug that according to some reports, appears to have been fixed in a recent update.
The best way to find answers is to try a forum search before posting. Often you'll find your answer immediately. And even if not, you'll have a better understanding of the issue against which to frame your questions. If you had searched, you'd have found a number of existing threads where this has been asked and answered. e.g.

Your link does not seem to go anywhere. "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms. "
I did see a few posts on this but none seemed to fit. Completely upto date with patches and tried removing the SD card and various other things.
Dont think my question was without frame.

Thanks for that. Had a good read through. Although it just seems like an additional Samsung "feature"

First of all, I would like to make clear I'm not slating VJ at all in any way, I think the effort he puts into developing all the programs that he does is fantastic.
However, I installed VJ Candella on my universal about a week ago, and since having had the flash on for a total of about 30minutes or perhaps an hour, my flash has gone from white to green to dim blue and now nothing.
I had VJ Candella Lite assigned to the 'backlight' button, so it is also possible that the button got pressed in my pocket and the flash was actually on for many hours rather than the 30min or so I consciously had it on for.
Either way I would highly recommend against using VJ Candella. Unlike many other phones, the flash is NOT a standard LED, and I think it burns out with too much use.
VJ already makes clear on his site that he cannot guarantee the effects using the program might have in the long run, but I'm sure he doesn't realise that it could do this.
It is probably the case that you can use the flash for say 30seconds a day, but I would be very wary how much.
Cheers,
Dave
Dave, reading through the VJCandela thread, you can see several people have reported the same problem (and results ) - I've stated that I wouldn't use it for more then a short time, bursts of a few seconds. Earlier last week I released a version in that thread that limits the bursts to 15 seconds (I think).
It's good advice not to sit on the flash and keep it burning, and it definitely seems to be a bit of a crap led, given that it has the ability to burn itself out. But I apologise for your experience, and urge everyone to use caution in the use of the app. But remember, it's a hardware problem, and how the hardware is used....
V
Dave, do know that you can disable all the buttons apart from the power button when the Universal is off? I think that should solve the problem for those who are still using the program.
@Vijay - I don't blame you at all - in fact I still thank you for writing the software, because it was a very good idea, except for the hardware is crap!
@richardlai - I have all the buttons disabled except power anyay, but somehow the power button seems to get pressed many times while in my pocket, and hence after that all that is required is one tap of the backlight key (shouldn't have set the app to run from there...). Thanks anyway!

Right... You may want to consider getting a leather case with a belt clip, but just don't run around too fast with it; I did that and it dropped...
In my case, I assigned Vijay Candelite as one of the 7 apps in the "Start Menu". Thus, the only way to light it up is through the "Start Menu". To turn it OFF, I just press any button. I never had any problem with Vijay's app. Thanks!

A few keys on the keyboard doesn't work when you just click it, you have to press down hard for them to work, and some of them enter in multiple times when i just press it once. Is it dirty or something, how can i fix this, outside of buying a new keyboard?
Mine does the same. There was a fix posted in another thread, but it doesn't seem to have fixed all of the problems I am having. I have to push ****ing hard on the period button for it to work.

Qwerty keyboard fix
They keyfix helped my problem with duplicate letters... hoowww arre youuu dooiing?
But, I had problems with certain keys not registering button presses. For me it was mostly the "Y" key. There is a thread over at PPCGeeks about this issue.
The keyfix does NOT fix this problem.
I am actually waiting on my replacement to arrive from fedex, got it replaced under warranty.
Call your customer support and let them know this IS a known issue with the hardware keyboard.
Enjoy your replacement.
Spray it wih contact cleaner. See near the bottom of this thread.

Verizon xv6800 slide out keyboard issues
I have some issues with the letters Q,L,O,A and Z. What seems to be happening is, when I push these letters in, it will come up with a little screen asking me if I use a different letter or symbol. For example, when Q is pressed, it comes up with a little window that says basically, do you want to use the @ sign or W. This only happens with the letters above. Everything else works fine. In the input settings, I turned off the enable auto correction and word suggestion. I even ran the fix and it still seems to do the same thing. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance
Mike
Q and P are my biggest culprits.
I just received my third replacement in a little over a year for this exact problem. Somehow everytime I've called about it Verizon still says it's not a known issue... It should be a known issue from MY replacements alone.
The keys that aren't functioning correctly for me are A, Cap/Shift, the blue dotted button (function key I guess), P, Del, the Right arrow, and that's pretty much it.
search for "ghost" "key presses", nothing relevant so here we go, hope to get a response on this one or I am going back to another ROM
I am getting really bad ghost key presses with this ROM, I used them with WINMO roms but a fix was released. This suggests the screen driver for Android is not yet stable and needs more DEV or is it just me that is having this problem. Sometimes it is so bad I feel like dropping back to winmo, yes I know it is that bad.
issue 1:
Sometimes all the keys around that key I am pressing fire and not just once, several times, mostly on edges of screen.
Issue two:
Sometimes when I have finished a word I get lots of ghost presses and random characters as if I am running my fingers all over the keyboard.
Could my screen be faulty?

I saw that, however the problem pretty much goes away on winmo ROMS, dont want to go to the bother of removing spl/mag and android to send it for repair if it isnt broken, are you 100% positive my screen is damaged?
Yes dude ...100% sure ...when i had this problem it was negligable on the windows mobile and more on the android builds...its sooo anoying ....just get ur screen replaced ...u will start loving android buils
Thanks, I will look into this, phone is still within warranty.
He's right, see my thread here. I had exactly the same problem as you. Sent my phone back to HTC, replacement screen, no more bounce/ghost keys.
didnt see that, didnt think of searching for "bounce"
I have put in a support email to HTC.
@Major_Sarcasm --- i still remember how much i had to convince u to change ur touchscreen !
Hey everyone my HTC HD2 got the Non-Responsive screen problem a week ago, & did a lot of research and found out that it was most likely a hardware problem with a cable..... So a lot of people would tell the people with the problem that the "Touch Screen Digitizer" is dead (like the cable), or it needs to be cleaned... pretty well go out and buy a new one... BUT I have never found evidence that someone has done this and it has successfully "cured" their HTC HD2 Non-Responsive touch screen problem...
So I was looking for anyone on the forums that could confirm this is a solution or give me any tips on what I should do.... AND no I don't have enough money to get a new phone, nor do I live in the USA so I can't send it in to fix it...
This is what I was going to buy for it:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/NEW-OEM-HTC-H...item519a3d2e45
Thanks for taking the time to read my Thread, its much appreciated!! I hope I can find a fix!!
PS: If anyone wanted to know what it looks like out of curiosity I posted 3 pictures with RED circle HIGHLIGHTING the problem when I try to touch something....
I really want to know this as well, because my phone is basically unusable at this state. I can get into it maybe 2 or 3 times a day, if i really try (locking and waking up the screen over and over until it becomes responsive). I don't want to buy a new digitizer if it isn't going to fix it, but i would gladly buy one if it will fix it. If you try it, and it does work for you, send me an email at [email protected] .
Anyone with any other information on this please help us out, there is a surprisingly small amount of info on this issue, considering how many phones were affected.
screen
I have read some threads on the power button being the cause. Try pressing it several times. Once you get the screen operating go to the market and get screen off app and a reboot app. Place them on your home screen toolbar. I use adw and it has an extra hidden toolbar if you swype down and then up on toolbar and up then down to close it. Either way you do it is fine. This keeps you from pushing the power button which has been discovered to be the problem. Hope this helps. I haven't had the problem, but seeing that it's happening more often I use these apps to keep from using power button unless needed to boot into magdlr.

Thanks for the help, yeah I havee seen that problem and I think that is my problem as well.... I am going to get a T5 Torx Screwdriver am pop open to see if I can maybe fiddle with the cable to get it to work again.... if it doesn't i might get a new digitizer or just have to go back to my old phone and save some money for a new smart phone
I have http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933951 on my hd2 and theres an option in cynogenMod settings > input > long press home settings that lets you change the action that happens when holding down the home key. Just set that to "screen off."
I have this reoccurring problem, when pressing home button the phone gets stuck on homescreen and half the screen is yellow. I cant do anything but turn it off.
Since I a newbee. Would be grateful for any tips and tricks about this bug.
I have tried reinstall everything but it keeps turning up no matter what I do.

You aint gonna get much help with that little provided info...
With a bit of deduction I found Kyasu makes roms for i9506.
You would be best posting in the actual roms thread and providing a log so the dev can help you.
I just solved it,
under setting in something called"attached devices"/in swedish and "smart cover"settings , turn itoff.
So smart cover setting was on after clean install .
So now everything is peachy!
