HI All!!
I have a China Note 3 which I was using when I was on biz trip there. Now I am back in Sg for good and would like to use the Note 3 SM-N9008v in SG but there are no google play stores etc inside
I have read that to install Google apps, I have to root the phone right?
I have managed to read up about rooting (soory I am a noob on this) but another problem is my computer is a Mac and there are no rooting programs I can find which can install on a Mac.
Can anyone kind enuff to help me on this??? plssss
Also let me know if I have any misunderstandings

Have you tried towelroot?
https://towelroot.com/
If that doesn't work you could always use Heimdall (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=755265) and follow the China Note 3 threads here on XDA.
Never heard of or tried Towelroot. As for rooting on a Mac I was able to easily accomplish this feat with the help of a vm. Heimdall I found not the easiest thing to use tbh. No issues what so ever with setting up the vm and using Odin via Windows OS to root.
Cheers

I just got my Samsung s4 and would like to know how to root it so that I can use cheats for the games I have on it.
Is there an easy steps I can take. I would also like to know which software to use to backup full system of the mobile.

If anyone that can provide youtube links that would be great
gt-i5905 or i9505
(Why not use xda search)
use towelroot
Remember that rooting will void your warranty and use CF-Auto-ROOT.
Always works for me.

towelroot app worked for me
Hey guys, I just bought two new phones to replace my Captivate (I hate parting with that phone) and my S2 T989. Now I'm the owner of a new Samsung Avant SM- G386T and an S5 G900T.
I want to root the S5 and I've read around to learn about getting it rooted and I've not been able to get any real clear answer of the best way and the easiest way. Does Towel work on the ANE6 or not? Can it be done through Mobile Odin? Will it or will it not effect the Knox counter?
So much for having only a simple question.
As also as always, thanks to anyone and everyone for your time.

Yes rooting will trip Knox
No, you can't root thru Mobil Odin, must be thru Computer

Okay, thanks. I appreciate the answer. I'm still reading all the posts I can on getting this S5 rooted. It drives me nuts not having access to files and to get rid of bloatware. I'll do a ROM a little later. I don't really care about tripping Knox, but I'd rather not. And as of a few weeks ago I don't have a PC to use. So I'll keep reading and see what I can do.
Thanks

Actually you can root the S5 without tripping Knox with the Towelroot method. I'm not sure if your model is supported, though, you will have to check that or just try if ist works.
That's what I thought, thanks. I'll check to see if my model is compatible.
Hello All,
I'm digging around threads and cannot find a sure fire root method for my Sprint Galaxy Tab 4 7" (T237). If someone could point me towards a definitive good method of rooting my device I'd appreciate it. I've rooted almost all of my phones with Odin and never had an issue but can't seem to find anything. I sort of need a sure fire way to root because I did not add insurance on my device and I used to work for Sprint so getting a phone replaced wasn't an issue. I just want to cover all my bases that the data/LTE will remain working after root. Thanks in advance!!

This only safe thing I can suggest is kingroot http://www.kingroot.net/down (click first download) you can search on YouTube on how to use kingroot so yeah. If that doesn't work, then your going to have do it another way

My suggestion -- use the best method ---> ODIN. No other suggestion needed.
(or you could get a rom that already has root and install it)
