I just got my Samsung s4 and would like to know how to root it so that I can use cheats for the games I have on it.
Is there an easy steps I can take. I would also like to know which software to use to backup full system of the mobile.

If anyone that can provide youtube links that would be great
gt-i5905 or i9505
(Why not use xda search)
use towelroot
Remember that rooting will void your warranty and use CF-Auto-ROOT.
Always works for me.

If Chainfires kernel didn't work for you then I'm afraid you must have been doing it wrong my friend.

Chainfires CF kernel has nothing to do with unlocking the S2 but rather rooting it. His SGS2 SIM unlock code finder app does however but for me, as with the OP, it didn't work. He acknowledges that it doesn't work with all S2s. I used the same app and it unlocked my S2 in a matter of seconds, great app.
My bad, I stand corrected thanks
The app modifies the efs rather than finding the unlock code, both work, the modification will also work in cases where the code finder can't find it.

what apps ? is there no alternatives ?
should be but you will need root and some build.prop editing maybe FwSpoof
Safety Care. I have not yet found an alternative, but if you know one I would appreciate it if you would share it with me.
Root is not an option on this device.
hmm

It's for the HTC One X. I'm not sure how easy it is to root it and if you keep the warranty/don't lose data.
I just took a quick peek and didn't see anything.
Hi, I'm about to root my n910f 4.4.4 btu but I just need to know what the root "breaks".
I already know S Health is one of the things which stop working but what else (if anything)
Next question, how do you "fix" the apps so they work again while the phone is rooted?
Thank you.
Chiller.

S Health works perfectly fine after rooting. The only thing that it breaks is Knox (you won't ever be able to use knox anymore).
Shealth works of cours it breaks 2 things warranty XD and OTA ...well Knox works for me I rooted via towel root ....u can still get updates by disabling root temporary by using app on play store like root triangle away or something like that...and when u go to download mod ur Knox will trip and u can't fix that ...it won't affect u by any mean ...

How on earth did you root via towelroot on a note4?
Eh!I did to my s4 d s5..for note 4 u got to wait anyway I gave answer according to ur question press thanks if it helped may be u can try mobogenie one click root...I m not sure about triping Knox....did u try towelroot on note 4 is it supported ? Get the app and check it out..

Everything works except knox wich for the vast majority is not a problem. Warranty is a question of luck, some repair centers doesn't care about knox triped but others refuse to repair in that condition.

I rooted my first Note 4 and indeed after it was rooted S Health stopped working. Because the Note 4 had more issues I returned it to the shop and they exchanged it with a new one. My new Note 4 isn't rooted because of the S Health issue.
Dude, Root doesn't break S Health. I have it rooted since the fist day I owned it and tracks my fitness perfectly. Xposed is known to break S Health and Private mode but a Module fixes it. Right now I'm running the lastest Lollipop build and everything works perfectly fine.
The only thing that breaks is Knox. So if Samsung Pay comes to our device (right now is on S6) you couldnt use it as it requires a non triggered Knox. But, In my country, i doubt Samsung/Apple/Android pay will come to my near market.
S Health working fine on my rooted Note 4 too.
Root does NOT break S-Health. Something else did that, 100% sure. Most prolly Xposed or system bug. S-Health & Private Mode should work rooted for 99.99% of the time. the other times it's just individual phones thats the cause

You loose Knox which is a very handy feature if you like to have multiple identities / accounts (facebook, instagram etc) Or if you have multiple relations with girlfriends (no spying woman) and you also loose payments with fingerprint verification (FIDO) Actually you loose anything that uses the FIDO API This is not fixable anymore when rooted
Hi All,
I'm having trouble finding a guide for my exact version of my 6 Edge Plus. My Baseband version is G928VVRU2BPD4. I have found this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/s6-edge-plus/general/guide-6-0-1-g928fxxs2bpd2-t3371526) but I'm not sure if it will work for me?
If someone could point me in the correct direction, or let me know if the guide that I linked to above will work for me - I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!
I have the same phone and did not see my exact model on CF Auto-Root.
Anyone have any information regarding a easy root for this phone? SM-G928V

Most Verizon devices can't be rooted....
Old thread, I know, but I'm desperate. Is it still the case that this Verizon model can't be rooted? No way around it? I need to root my phone in order to do a deep scan for deleted files.

I'm also looking for a root all over the internet, Why is this model not being looked into anymore? i know the phones 2 years old, but cmon. I assume it cant be rooted because of the bootloader being locked tighter then fort knox itself. Verizon devices are notorious for having extra security.
Finally Root
Hey man, i finally got root for SM-G928V, this soluction is the app Wondershare MobileGo (PC), he have a built-in root application.

Wait what? please elaborate, The program you speak of costs money and i doubt your claims. If a root is possible it would of been posted here already.
+1 - does this Wondershare Mobile Go really works for G928V?

Nope. I downloaded it, does nothing. Cant even detect my phone. Its a waste of time. The bootloader cannot be unlocked on this model because of Verizon and no one is working on a root method because the device is already too old. Im going to sell it and upgrade to a S7 edge. Right now you can get a used S7 edge on ebay for under $250. Just avoid the verizon models.
could it be possible to use a one click root PC app to root my sm t590? Apparently iroot suppose to have a high success rate.
I'm just frustrated as there isnt a simple way to root this device like using ODIN solely for everything like you can do on other devices I just want a simple way of doing it lol
