So I've just flashed Matr1x on top of PAC, and everything was working great, but now my Wi-Fi doesn't turn on. It'll say "Turning on Wi-Fi, but it never does. I've tried flashing stock radio, since I have a LTE radio flashed, but that didn't change anything. I've tried rebooting and waiting for 2 minutes before turning it on, still didn't work. I've tried flashing HellsCore instead, but to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks!
This happened to me when I flashed Francos kernel. I flashed the beta r209 and it worked. There was an issue in original kernel of 4.4.2. And many custom kernel use the same WiFi settings as stock.

It's an issue with 4.4.2 kernels and 4.4.4 roms. You could try this fix if you dont't want to change your kernel

Fixed it! I ended up flashing an earlier version of Matr1x and now everything's all good, except my wifi quality is really bad. I'm in my room, which is 50 feet from the router, but I barely get a bar. Whereas my laptop has a perfect 5 bars.
You can try hellscore kernel

Having issues with GPS working. IT is not even seeing any sats. I have my old GNEX and that is working great, no issues. I used GPS Status to reset/download the GPS data and no luck. I tried the latest CM build and an old CM build...no luck. I tried a different 4.3.1 ROM all together, no luck. I would try a 4.2.2 but GOO has been down all damn day
Anyway, any one else having issues with GPS? Hope GOO is back up soon because if this is a phone defect, then I need to flash back to stock. Wish I would of tested GPS out of the box, but I didnt even think to do so.
thanks

I am on the latest CM nightly build. Cannot go back to stock. All the links do DL stock roms are down because of GOO
THis is what I did to get GPS working....
1) Flashed CleanROM 4.2.2 and established a lock
2) Factory rest in recovery and applied CM 10.2 M1
GPS now works fine. Before I was restoring a CM backup but I had to flash the original CM ROM in order to get GPS working.
I am on stock rom, and have same issue. I began to think that this is a hardware problem. What type your g2? Mine is d802b.
There is another method to download stock rom, have you tried it?

Stock and 4.2.2 ROMS are fine. It is a known issue going from stock to CM. Some G2 phones do have hardware problems tho.
Hi guys.
I bought my Nexus 4 (after selling me old Galaxy S2) a few hours ago and I'm running into some issues.
Whenever I'm on a ROM that isn't Stock, my wifi or wifi + BT aren't working. The WiFi status is always 'Turning on wifi...' and never changes, and occasionally its the same for Bluetooth.
I've tried installing CM11, Carbon and AOKP, changing kernels, even flashing the stock radio to see if anything changes, but it all stays the same.
Another thing I've noticed (I don't know if it has anything to do with the WiFi, but it could be) is that on AOKP and on the Carbon, I can't click the top right button in the notification bar (the one that shows you all the toggles).
The thing is that whenever I flash back to Stock 4.4, everything is ok, and both the WiFi and BT are working as planned.
I'm actually clueless after trying anything I could think of. Does any of you have any idea what's going on?
Thanks in advance.

Hello, you have to flash older radio to enable wifi. Try version 84. Just flash the zip from CWM.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
I noticed that a lot of my sensors are dead as well when not using a stock rom.
I've had nothing but Android devices for the past 4 years, but in this case, I don't know whether the radio solution can solve the problem, since it looks more like a Kernel issue, or am I wrong?
Isn't the radio supposed to affect only wifi and BT? What about the other sensors?
Will try that soon though, phone has 2% battery.

I'm having a similar issue. On nexus 4 phone with current stock ROM running 4.4.2, I tried Cyanogenmod 10.1.3 but wifi was always in trying to connect mode, never managed to turn it on/off. The same behavior is on miui ROM but on stock everything works fine!

If the custom roms you are using are based on 4.4.2 it may be a problem with the newer kernel. This article recommends flashing the 4.4 kernel as a possible fix.

I rooted my phone using CWM and flashed TriForceROM a few months ago, and everything was wonderful till about a month or so afterward, and now at random when it's idle it'll crash? I'll go to unlock it, the Menu and Back buttons on the bottom will flash, and then I'll have to wait a few minutes and press the power button (sometimes a couple times) and after vibrating once or twice it'll boot up to the Samsung splash screen.
I managed to do some research and found it might be just because it's rooted, but since the problem didn't start until a good bit after the root I was thinking maybe (hopefully) it's something else? Any ideas on how to fix it?
Any help appreciated ^_^
I will assume you are running KT's kernel because that is a known problem for some people on his kernel.
Reflash Tri force and choose change mods. Choose stock and all will be well.

I might have, I don't think I went in and changed much. I'll do that. Thanks!!
Just checked (remembered you can look at the kernel through settings. D'oh), and it is indeed KT's kernel. Yay for being able to fix it and still have the ROM!

and that is the mk2 firmware
Hello,
I've search for a couple of hours in the posts but I can't find anything that works.
I woke up this morning and all of a sudden my wifi won't turn on.
I've been on the Google Play Edition v1.2, Android Version 4.4.4, Baseband NJ4 for about 3 months and no problems at all. Literally just woke up this morning and my wifi won't turn on.
I just re-flashed the most up-to-date NJ4 kernel and the problem still remains.
Any recommendations?

I would just try different ones honestly
So I tried 3 differents roms and all of them had the same issue and I can't fix it.
I tested with stock rom, stock kernel or blu spark kernel. I tried bliss rom and now I am using Codename Phoenix rom.
But I always have the same issue after going to Android Pie, my wifi get disconnected after a few minutes of screen off. My global wifi_sleep_policy is to always enabled but it is not working.
Does anyone have a fix for it?

I was using stock 9.0.4 before trying the custom ROMs. Wouldn't the firmware be automatically updated ?
I will have a look into that, maybe reflash the firmware.

The you have 9.0.4 firmware, but try to flash again. Also make sure it's not a custom kernel issue.

My current rom is Codename Phoenix, I tried about 3 different kernel to make sure is not a kernel related.
My current baseband is mpsss.at.2.0.c4.7-00070-8998_gen_pack-2.132073.1.179387.1
If I flash the firmware/modem from OOS 9.0.5, will it break something?

No it won't break something, you can try to update it, maybe it's running then for CNP rom

So I reflash the firmware+modem form this page
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76943628&postcount=8
I flashed the 9.0.5 version, but the problem persist, after a few minutes of screen off the wifi just disconnect and I have to unlock and enter the app to receive the notifications.
I realized the problem is that for some reason whatsapp is being killed in the background even after I put it to not be battery optimized.
Will try to make it a sysapp to see if works

I fixed my wifi , it was caused by some new firmware installed in the router that had a bug that caused all my devices to disconnect when idle.
The new problem now is that my apps are being closed/killed after the screen is off for a few minutes I tried to turn off Baterry Optimization but it did not work.
If I put my phone to charge this behavior does not happen my phone does not kill the apps.

Thanks for the information. To help others you can mark the thread as [SOLVED] and add an info to the first post that it was your routers firmware and not the smartphone
After some time and a lot more of test I find out it wasnt my router firmware problem
The only thing that really solved the problem was installing this mod:

Thanks and this thread can be closed now.
