Hi guys.
I bought my Nexus 4 (after selling me old Galaxy S2) a few hours ago and I'm running into some issues.
Whenever I'm on a ROM that isn't Stock, my wifi or wifi + BT aren't working. The WiFi status is always 'Turning on wifi...' and never changes, and occasionally its the same for Bluetooth.
I've tried installing CM11, Carbon and AOKP, changing kernels, even flashing the stock radio to see if anything changes, but it all stays the same.
Another thing I've noticed (I don't know if it has anything to do with the WiFi, but it could be) is that on AOKP and on the Carbon, I can't click the top right button in the notification bar (the one that shows you all the toggles).
The thing is that whenever I flash back to Stock 4.4, everything is ok, and both the WiFi and BT are working as planned.
I'm actually clueless after trying anything I could think of. Does any of you have any idea what's going on?
Thanks in advance.

Hello, you have to flash older radio to enable wifi. Try version 84. Just flash the zip from CWM.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
I noticed that a lot of my sensors are dead as well when not using a stock rom.
I've had nothing but Android devices for the past 4 years, but in this case, I don't know whether the radio solution can solve the problem, since it looks more like a Kernel issue, or am I wrong?
Isn't the radio supposed to affect only wifi and BT? What about the other sensors?
Will try that soon though, phone has 2% battery.

I'm having a similar issue. On nexus 4 phone with current stock ROM running 4.4.2, I tried Cyanogenmod 10.1.3 but wifi was always in trying to connect mode, never managed to turn it on/off. The same behavior is on miui ROM but on stock everything works fine!

Are you running the .98 radio with 4.4.2?

If the custom roms you are using are based on 4.4.2 it may be a problem with the newer kernel. This article recommends flashing the 4.4 kernel as a possible fix.

I'll try to keep this brief, but backstory is necessary.
Original Nexus 4 came in, bluetooth often would refuse to connect to paired devices without rebooting the phone (or power-cycling the other device oddly). This was on stock. Flashed AOKP milestone 2 at some point and problem persisted.
Original Nexus 4 data port broke, RMAed and got a new one (now with nipples!). Flashed the same AOKP milestone and whoa, bluetooth works wonderfully now. Always connects immediately, amazing!
Fast forward to yesterday, I flash the new AOKP 4.3 build along with a new radio at a knowledgable user's suggestions (filename radio-mako-m9615a-cefwmazm-2.0.1700.84.zip). I'm right back to where I started with bluetooth refusing to connect half the time. Now I KNOW it's not a hardware issue because it worked on this new Nexus until yesterday.
Is this a kernel issue or could it be the radio? Recommendations on what to flash to get my bluetooth working again?

Try reflashing the ROM with a data wipe. If the problem persists, then it's either a ROM issue, or your bluetooth chip is malfunctioning again (Which is improbable).
I was hoping perhaps someone would say "Oh that sounds like a radio issue. Just flash this one and you should be good."
Oh well, I guess I'll put up with it for now and do a factory wipe when AOKP releases a milestone 4.3 or something.

Bugs in nightly builds are very common. If you want to be sure, flash the stock rooted ROM, and check if the problem is a hardware one.
And yeah, the radio is most probably not causing any problems, since most of us use the latest one with no problems.

I was actually having this same problem with stock 4.2.2, CM10.1, and AOKP Milestone2 on the first phone. Didn't have the problem with AOKP Milestone2 on the new phone, but am now with the new 4.3 preview build. Really frustrating. Oh well, I'll keep flashing clean until it works. Thanks.
So much for my first post!
Just as the title says, after flashing crDroid AOSP build 4 from stock 4.4, I am having issues with the WiFi. When I first tried to set it up the list of available networks would not show, and then after when I went into the WiFi settings to manually turn it on, toggling it had no affect whatsoever.
I am using TWRP.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem, or have any idea what I could do to fix it? I would greatly appreciate any help!

I had a similar problem going from 4.4 back to 4.2.2 (Miui) I had to flash a different radio, maybe try the one for 4.4 from this thread.

Make sure your kernel support PRIMA driver or flash a dePRIMAtor package.
Basically what happens is the phone works fine while on WiFi but as soon as I disable WiFi or leave the area, when the phone tries to connect to 3g it loses signal completely. It shows the H+ briefly, then shows grey bars and then shows an empty triangle for about 3 seconds. I was running the 4.4 ROM released by paranoid android a few weeks ago with no issues until today when calls were constantly droppiing while I was out.
I've since tried updating the radio, tried two different 4.4 roms, flashed back to 4.3 rom 3.99 paranoid Android rc2 including the boot loader and radio provided in the xda thread. Still no luck. So my question is...is there a magic fix? Or will I need to replace the antenna? Im going to try get a new sim tomorrow and try that but I don't see why that would be the issue?
Thanks

Lately people are complaining about the signal issues..Pa has been the common factor in all.. I would suggest/recommend you to flash psx v2 + franco + radio + bootloader.. If you have already updated to radio n bootloader, good. Best combo.. no problems.

PSX version 2 is the KitKat ROM. It's in the Original Development.
darkstar09, are you having problems with restarting your phone? Because I'm having this mobile signal bug as well + a massive reboot problem. I allready downgraded to 4.3 but the problem was still there ..
ever since updating to kitkat my nexus 4 is running in to a lot of issues with wifi, when i turn on my device wifi would work for about ten minutes and then stop, while still sowing connected to my home network but unable to load a page in chrome or send a message in whatsapp. if i downgrade back to 4.3 everything works fine again but updating again would do the same thing. even installing a custom ROM like CM11 would make wifi unusable while CM10.x would work fine.
Try flashing different radio. Use the one that comes with 4.3.

In general section, there are threads called modem collection. You can start there.

So I've just flashed Matr1x on top of PAC, and everything was working great, but now my Wi-Fi doesn't turn on. It'll say "Turning on Wi-Fi, but it never does. I've tried flashing stock radio, since I have a LTE radio flashed, but that didn't change anything. I've tried rebooting and waiting for 2 minutes before turning it on, still didn't work. I've tried flashing HellsCore instead, but to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks!
This happened to me when I flashed Francos kernel. I flashed the beta r209 and it worked. There was an issue in original kernel of 4.4.2. And many custom kernel use the same WiFi settings as stock.

It's an issue with 4.4.2 kernels and 4.4.4 roms. You could try this fix if you dont't want to change your kernel

Fixed it! I ended up flashing an earlier version of Matr1x and now everything's all good, except my wifi quality is really bad. I'm in my room, which is 50 feet from the router, but I barely get a bar. Whereas my laptop has a perfect 5 bars.
You can try hellscore kernel
