Custom ROM with tether/hotspot? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone. I have a sprint LG G2 on Jellybean. Rooted with TWRP installed. I read before that custom ROMs can include hotspot usage (Without paying Sprint for the feature.) I tried using the hotspot mod, but it never works for me. Now that I'm more familiar with Android, I'm willing to try a custom ROM. I looked in the development page, and found some but none mentioned hotspot support that I could see. Could someone link me to a custom ROM for the Sprint G2 (Preferably one based on Jellybean, always had trouble when I used KitKat) that allows hotspot usage? (Also preferably with knockOn/off support.)

[Q] LG MiniView on stock?

Cloudyfa's CloudyStock 1.3 contains a feature I really like ported from the G2 pro, MiniView. But since I don't have time to flash custom roms and play around with backups, has anyone taken this feature out of the rom and turned it into a flashable feature (such as the Xdabbeb's enhanced camera or multiwindow)? If it has not been done yet, can anyone tell me if it is feasable and/or how to do it?

I'm petty sure it could be made into a mod that can be flashed and best way to do is to ask cloudyfa what are the needed files and what needs to be modified or ask cloudy if he plans on doing so in the near future

You want to use theme manager themes on touchwiz? Not possible for many reasons. Its not recommend to install cdma carrier roms on our gsm devices AFAIK.

[Q] Rooting to Tether/Mobile Hotspot

Hello everyone, this is gonna super noob of me to post but I'm going to do it because I'm a bit confused.
I'm ok with the stock rom, I'm sure down the road some day I will install a custom rom or cyanogen mod. But for now I understand that rooting the Note 4 will trigger a change in state to show that the device had been rooted before.
I've rooted and installed custom roms on countless phones before, but the reason I make this post was because I achieved tethering/mobile hotspot by installing cyanogenmod, which came prebundled with those features enabled. I don't really want to install a custom rom, but I do want to somehow have the ability to tether/mobile hotspot without installing a custom rom. What would be the way to do that? Do I have to install an apk after rooting and if so, what would that apk be? (Using Sprint unlimited data)
TL;DR - Noob here trying find the best way to use mobile hotspot/tether without paying carrier.
Thanks for your time and sorry for such a noobish question.

if your rooted here's your best try
I use Foxfi. It doesnt need root and it does mobile wifi teather without carrier charge. I'm on verizon, not sure if it works on sprint.
Tethering and mobile hotspot just work when completely stock and un-rooted.... I guess if you get it from specific carriers they can block this function?
i'm on USA Sprint and foxfi uses the stock tether function so access to those function is denied unless you pay for it, which is why I have to root.

bare minimum mod to enable tethering on a I337 on ATT (MVNO) consumer celllular

I recently got a second hand i337. it is stock and updated to the latest NJ4 4.4.4 kitkat.
Im new to all this about rooting, flashing and APKs and all that but I understand there was a major change between 4.4.2 and 4.4.4 that makes it much harder to root.
All I'm really looking for is enable tethering with an ATT MVNO (Consumer cellular). Phone works fine with 4GLTE with good speeds but it wont let me tether either natively or with any google play apps (fox-fi,etc). Consumer Cellular claims not to support android tethering but it does support Iphone tethering. :/ But the tech said if i "figure out" how to get tethering to work on the android I would be OK to use it.
My first thought was to root and install a ROM that has tethering build in. (Like CM11) but the 4.4.4 has made rooting a bit scary and adding a custom rom brings in a lot of other changes i'm not interested in. I alsore read that only touchwiz ROMS can be installed since 4.4.4 locked the bootloader. I'm OK with touchwiz interface.
What is the bare minimum mod that will enable tethering on a I337 using an MVNO like consumer cellular?

You can Odin back to NB1 (4.4.2) and root without a hitch. I'll look for a tethering solution and see what I can do to help

Thanks. Appreciate it!
Thread is getting a little stale.
Anyone else have an suggestion?
I'm interested in doing this too. Same situation. Second hand i337, unlocked and using on a MVNO. Anyone know if H2O supports tethering on their pay by the Mb plan?

Wifi Calling Lineage OS 14.1 TMO H918 V20, is it possible at all? If not please help

Ok so I rooted my H918 and installed Lineage 14.1 and love the rom, however Wifi Calling for me is an absolute must with all the international travel I do so my questions is two parts.
1. Is it possible to somehow get wifi calling working? I have enabled it but it doesnt provision and does not work.
2. If it is not possible whatsoever can someone suggest an alternative rom I can use that does support it (I want to keep my root intact, I used DirtyCow method).
Thank you for your help, I searched the forums quite a bit but couldn't find an answer and the Lineage IRC channel wasn't very helpful either.

In order for Wi-Fi calling to work you must be on a t-mobile rom and have a tmobile sim. As to whether or not that feature works or not overseas you'll have to check with them

I have used custom roms in the past that supported Wifi Calling, I assume they were built off a tmobile rom. Do you have a suggestion of an alternative rom I can use for the 918? Or do I have to just use a stock, I am not 100% opposed to stock but I don't want to lose root and I am aware that can happen with the newer builds of official roms.
