[Q] twrp wont load - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i installed a theme for the recovery and next thing you know my phone wouldnt boot.... so... i went into recovery so i could just reflash the rom and fix the issue but guess what? the them was so big I CANT PRESS THE INSTALL BUTTON! i already tried deleting the theme using the file manager but I CANT PRESS THE DELETE BUTTON EITHER, anyone know a way to boot into twrp and make it bypass loading the theme? Please do make any referances to adb because i dont have a computer at the moment. Im at work and cant install anything on this computer and no i cant ask the I.T. for help...... please help me.....:crying:

Without adb to reflash the recovery and delete the TWRP configuration file and theme that is present on the SD card, I think you're out of luck. To the best of my knowledge those tools are required to fix your problem.

To the best of my knowledge he cannot boot into android, that was the problem he was trying to fix when he encountered this problem in his recovery.

Problem flashing custom recovery

Just get my nexus, i unlock it root it and try to install twrp through nexus 4 toolkit...when im on flashboot i choose reboot recovery but nothing happens...also i notice that i have a bootloader* version mako10o ( i see only 10i and 10I exists correct me if im wrong)
Edit: somehow with nexus root toolkit i manage to flash it..even with some difficulties....
so anyone else has this bootloader?i have the nipples and the smaller "hole" in the back camera too!!
Don't use a toolkit and learn to do it all manually
I know who to make it manually even than from my old phone its a bit different..but i unlock, root, change recovery in 1st hour the phone came...
You probably types the wrong command or didn't place the file in the right place.
Anyways, you can just flash twrp using the too manager app from the play store.

My friend take a moment and look at the zip file you are flashing then notice what your are pushing over. Within the zip file there are multiple files being installed to your system as opposed to you only pushing over one file. Always good practice to check out what you are flashing
Push everything over and fix permissions if needed
but it's not a zip file. I know that this rom cones pre installed with the super user setting in the settings but I'm using the app. but when I click on it the app tells me that I have to update something so when I did normal it says failed try flashing in cwm or custom recovery. so when I do custom recovery. but even time I reboot into recovery says what I said about.

Thanks but where can i learn these commands from, im new to android adb commands
Google twrp guide lg g2. First link. Installation option 2 shows an adb push as the installation. Its essentially adb push "File name" location on phone" then twrp van install the zip. Also there is a side loader app that can work with twrp as well

i think you miss understood me , i am in twrp recovery and i dont have any android installed i want to get access to my files .
In twrp. Do you have a file on your phone or want to put one on it? If you hAve no os and you want to put one on it to flash look below. If you just don't know how to flash click install and its self explanatory.
Now plug your phone into a computer with adb and working g2 drivers. It's the same process. Installing twrp with option 2 to push the file. You should or probably push it to /storage/emulated/0 this is the sd card. From here you can install it with twrp. If you took shortcuts to install root and twrp and don't have adb working there's a search on Google for that as well. There are threads in help section dedicated to this or similar issues that have same solution.

Dead Nexus

I have searched and searched everywhere and could not find an answer. I even posted my situation in the q&a section and it just got lost in the thread.
Ok so here goes, i was running multirom with stock as my primary, and the L port as secondary. Ran for months no issues ever. I was going to give the phone to my wife so i was gonna wipe the phone and put it back to factory fresh.
I had the phone booted (running secondary L port) and attemted to boot into recovery. The phone rebooted and got stuck at the google logo with the lock at the bottom. So i rebooted phone into bootloader(fastboot) and scrolled to recovery and was met with the same outcome. Then i rebooted once more to fastboot and scrolled to start ans same logo again. Even from a fully powered down device trying to start phone normally i get the same logo.
So i decided to just flash factory images since i was gonna anyways(twice actually)with wugs toolkit. I recieved zero errors both times but you guessed it same result.
I even tried another battery and still same BS. Last night i decided to flash a JB image manually so i could see changes in bootloader ie radio, bootloader ver, recovery etc. Now bear in mind in fastboot it would not reboot bootloader by selecting it so i would have to power off device and then use button combo to get back into fastboot to flash the next file. I continued untill everything was complete followed by rebooting to os and still same [email protected]$$$ng logo. Please someone help.

Flash the factory image in fastboot, don't use wugs. If it still doesn't work you have a hardware problem.

This is why I don't recommend tool kits. I don't what you did to the device. I would try to do a factory reset in the stock recovery. It will wipe your device. Locking the phone won't do anything so don't bother with that.

It's sounding like a hardware problem. I would try flashing the factory image with fastboot. Is your device recognized by your pc when you're booted into the bootloader? If not, go to device manager on your pc. Is there a device with a yellow exclamation mark. If so right click on it and go to where it lets you choose from a list on your computer. Choose android adb composite interface.
