I have rooted my phone using towel root when it came out and the system status was still official, nothing has change on my phone since then not even a firmware update and just today I noticed that my system status is already custom, I saw this a few days back and it was still official. Is there anyway to revert this back to official aside from a wipe and a stock reflash ? Would greenifying some system apps cause this because that was the change I made yesterday..

Why does a custom binary tick you off so much you would want a wipe? Who would go into Download mode and take a look at your custom binary and say "OooOoOOOooOoOooooo this guy has Custom in System Status!!!!!!!!!!!11111oneone"
KNOX is what should tick you off, I could care less whether my System Status shows Official or Custom, because it's not permanent, just flash back to stock if any and it will return back to Official.
Because of OC. Sorry if this post offends you.
@EarlZ system status is always custom when your rooted, isnt it? Correct me if iam wrong.

I can guarantee that with 4.3 rooted with URDLV and Wanam xposed I have knox 0 and (fake) status official in download mode. I do not know first-hand with knox 0x1 (as after cf auto root) or 4.4.

Like what I posted, I used towel root and both Knox and System status was untouched. A few days ago I checked up on both and it was still official and 0x0, but yesterday it changed to custom. I understand that I can fix this by reflashing to all stock but what I am trying to also understand is what suddenly triggered it and if possible how to revert it with out wipe.

I have same situation like you. Use wanam and you will be official in a download meny
Okay, you're not the only ones who got this situation.
For me, custom is better than official, since there is no possibility to accidentally update OTA, if I'm right.
But if you want your status back to official, try wiping cache from recovery. If that does not help, uninstall Wanam Xposed and then wipe again
If you use SEARCH you might found that You are NOT the only one with the problem you have, and the answer most likely is out there, just search, search and then search again

Hello. I have the I9505 model. I flashed an update with odin. After that i wanted to make my counter go to 0. I rooted with the chainfire and used the triangle away. All ok. Now how can i revert back to official status in order to get the updates OTA or via KIES without setting the counter at 1 again? I am new to this so be patient with me and don't get angry if what i ask is very easy... Thank you in advance...

actually i found an answer in ur own question the only need to reset the counter is for taking it to a service center so u can use odin for the updates and stuff and then use chainfire's app for resetting the counter and don't forget to unroot if u need a service
Probably there is something I am missing. There is nothing wrong with my device. I just want to be on the safe side. U say that I just need to unroot. The only way I know of unrooting is by flashing through Odin which sets the counter trigger. So again there is a problem with warranty. Is there anything else u meant in your previous post? @Blackwolf10
If I understand correctly the whole procedure is a loop. Now I am rooted. If I want to be unrooted I flash through Odin. Then I use tr away to reset the counter so I need root again and I am again out of warranty.

Root has nothing to do with the status, it is what you flash via Odin.
For example, if you flash CF-AutoRoot via Odin on a stock ROM and then flash a stock kernel, your devices official device WILL BE "OFFICIAL".
However, if you root your ROM and then flash CWMR, it won't matter if you unroot your phone, it will still be custom.
So to answer your question, NO it won't.
I hope I explained this well enough.
Yes u were more than helpfull. Thank you. Anyhow i unrooted it and flashed through kies the latest firm (MDM) and i am OK again. I wanted to be IN warranty because i was considering DOA for overheating but i saw that almost everyone except 1-2 exceptions has such temps. By installing 50 or so apps it reached 49-50 temps at cpu...

I wouldn't flash this ROM via ODIN. Some people reported installation failure and KNOX warranty void flags. Fix your Custom status with TriangleAway. Then you will be able to update over OTA, if it is already available for your provider. However, even so, I wouldn't recommend flashing this or updating. It has KNOX so you will not be able to go back if this is buggy, and you will not be able to root without loosing warranty.
Already some ppl has updated in india & reported as buttery smooth.

Yes, it's me.
Well, I'm not sure about raising the counter since I didn't try it myself. Some people reported it. Too early to tell.
It would be logical to make it so that it doesn't raise the flag for the first time. On the other hand, Samsung isn't really logical lately.

Triangle Away should fix the status. You must reastart your phone any give it few minutes. It doesn't always work, but mostly yes. There are also few settings in Triangle Away. Allow tracker to run and System modified workaround. Experiment with those. And remember to leave your phone alone for few minutes before you check the status. There is a reason for that.
It certainly works for me. I'm rooted, and get OTAs.

Ok so please check your phone through Odin to see if really your counter stays 0x0 an show us a screenshot.
This will be the definitive confirmation.
Kingo works 100%
Have been using this rooted phone for more than a few days without any problems.
Had downloaded the OTA though.
Had not flashed MK4 firmware via Odin but it should not make a difference.
Have not tried the wanam & xpose process ... will try it today and give u all an update.
I am purely on a stock rom (odexed)
Just wanted to root the device without any custom notifications or tripping any counters
I guess this Kingo method serves the purpose...so far until something better turns up.
This is purely for those who are on STOCK Rom & want to root their Phones and are afraid of tripping their Knox Counter etc.
Follow this post for further instructions on rooting via Kingo & Wanam & Xpose (for making Device Status from Custom/Modified to Official)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2509244
Major.
PS. Device status showing Custom/Modified will not allow you to update your phone via OTA.
If you want to Make it official as I mentioned u can use Wanam & Xpose
OR
Flash the original Stock ROM via ODIN (You will lose the ROOT though)
PROOF!!!

Could be possible...
As after rooting by this method I personally feel this Knox thing is more kind of software related rather than Hardware.
If Kingo can bypass this and root so can our senior Dev Team too can.
Although, I don't understand much of this mambo-jumbo in programming..am always ready to help.

You forgot to un-root the phone.
Go to app drawer and click on SuperSU and you will
find an option which says "Full Unroot" select that
and reboot the phone and try the OTA and or Kies
update again.
Good luck!
The why
A lot of this has been said in other threads, however I decided to gather all the up-to-date (as of Jun 17, 2014) instructions and info in this thread to alleviate fears of the infamous 'KNOX WARRANTY VOID 0x1' and help people with the process. People with tripped KNOX can of course use this as well, however it won't untrip their devices, duh.
The cheers
First of all big cheers for Pinkie Pie (person who discovered the Linux kernel vulnerability that makes rooting without tripping KNOX possible), geohot (person that used the vulnerability to make a rooting app), chainfire (developer of SuperSU), rovo89 and Tungstwenty (developers of Xposed). Go and donate to these guys if you can!
The what
This post will tell you how to upgrade your P605 to 4.4.2, if you haven't already. And how to install SuperSU and Xposed all the while keeping your KNOX counter at 0x0, CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official and SYSTEM STATUS: Official!
Note: The versions in this text are just for reference - telling you what versions already worked. New ones will surely also work, so you should usually download the newest available.
The how
Firmware
4.4.2 NEE P605XXUCNE2 (any of the current 4.4.2 firmwares should be fine, although Samsung might use an updated kernel for the future versions, disabling towelroot)
From http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53092676&postcount=1
Simple instructions available here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=30325 (you can also download the firmware from here, but download is slow for free accounts)
Root
From http://towelroot.com
No special instructions (it's a 1-click root)
SuperSU
Version 1.99.rc5 from http://download.chainfire.eu/448/SuperSU/
Extract Superuser.apk (in 'common') from the zip, install and run
Answer yes to the Disable KNOX prompt (don't worry, KNOX will not be tripped)
Xposed
From http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.installer (version 2.6.1)
No special instructions
The victory
Congrats! Now you should be on a rooted, SuperSUed, Xposed KitKat with warranty left intact! However before sending it to Samsung, e.g., for repairs, you should flash your original firmware, of course.
Can this be made to work with the SM-P600 on Android 4.3 unrooted? Any help will be appreciated. This would be a dream.

SuperSU
Version 1.94 from Google Play (Jun 17, 2014)
Answer yes to the Disable KNOX prompt (don't worry, KNOX will not be tripped)
At the end it will say it failed, however it will be working!
If you are annoyed by the 'failed' message for some reason, download an updated version from http://download.chainfire.eu/448/SuperSU/ (you'll have to flash it manually though) which supposedly fixes it.

NEE will be fine for all P605, however I don't know if it works with something like P605V (US Verizon).

You can wipe the tablet from recovery:
Turn tablet off
Turn it on holding Volume Up + Power Button until you see something on the screen
Wipe data/factory reset
Reboot

First you wipe then you flash
You can download the driver from the Samsung website, e.g., http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/SM-P605VZKEVZW (don't worry that it is on the US page, the driver is the same for all Samsung devices)
Glad I can help. I waited for root quite long myself :victory:
In the thread discussing towelroot on P605, people claimed installing xposed would change your binary to custom. That's holding me back for now, can you confirm that it stays official?

It only makes it custom inside of the ROM. In download mode it shows Official. You can also use the Wanam xposed module to change it back to Official in the ROM.

alright, thanks!
so if i have some warranty issues, wiping everything from recovery or re-flashing the unrooted stock ROM would make everything official again, right? I know I sound like a scared little girl, but I just really don't want to risk my warranty on this rather expensive device
Heyy its wonderful i did it but there is a problem about kitkat rom i saw a little lags and the biggest problem is whatsapp says it is not compatible with this device also twitter in playstore what should i do thnx for your all help

So i just tried and installed xposed, and funnily enough, my system status stayed official, even inside the ROM. I won't complain though..
Hello i should restore system defaults how should i do directly by using recovery mode can i clean systam cache and ... Or before it should i unroot from su?

To make sure; unroot and then factory reset

As long using stock recovery and it will stay Official. Just custom recovery will give custom.

No it doesn't. You dont seem to understand difference between "system status" in Download mode or inside of the ROM.
Here is couple of pictures to make you understand.
In the picture below you can see system status official. This will change, if you install CUSTOM ROM or CUSTOM RECOVERY. Towelroot does not change any of these data here:
In the picture below you can see Device status "custom". This can change to custom if you ROOT the device and/or install SuperSU or Xposed framework. This has NOTHING to do with the status in the Download mode as seen in the first picture.
I hope that people wouldn't mix these things, because they are rather easy to understand. Talking about things that you dont really understand will cause confusion and makes people asking more stupid questions.
Thank you!

I'm not quite sure, but it seems that in some cases the ROM can detect if it's rooted.
For me it changed to "Custom" after rooting with towelroot and SuperSU installation. I changed it back to Official with Wanam xposed.
