[Root] Knox stays (0x0) with Kingo android root - Galaxy Note II General

I was looking for a safe root so that my knox counter remained at 0x0
First flased the stock firmware with odin XXUEMK4 from SamMobile
and then with kingo root rooted my Note 2
and it works my counter remained 0x0
I used this youtube movie as an example, if I did everything right, and everything went well with my
Link to Kingo android root
This won't reset KNOX if you already void KNOX warranty

1- Download and install Samsung Kies or Samsung Mobile driver
2- Download "kingo"
3- On your device go to Settings/More/About device/
4- Tap 5 times on "build number" to enable "Developer option"
5- Enable "USB Debug Mode" from developer options
6- Connect your device to PC by USB cable and wait until "kingo" display the model of your device
7- Click the green Button and wait few seconds
8- After it reboot, you can unplug USB cable

Is there really already a Knox-workaround way to root the new 4.3 firmwares?
HAHAHA! That's awesome!

Just rooted my phone using Kingo

WITHOUT tripping the Knox Counter!!!
Though Device status shows "Custom"
Can be taken care of by Using Xpose Framework & Wanam
Thanks.

Nope. Has nothing to do with odex/deodex.
BTW. If this method works, it's the first workaround without tripping knox.
No more using older bootloaders I guess. Nice find!

Ok so please check your phone through Odin to see if really your counter stays 0x0 an show us a screenshot.
This will be the definitive confirmation.

Kingo works 100%
Have been using this rooted phone for more than a few days without any problems.
Had downloaded the OTA though.
Had not flashed MK4 firmware via Odin but it should not make a difference.
Have not tried the wanam & xpose process ... will try it today and give u all an update.
I am purely on a stock rom (odexed)
Just wanted to root the device without any custom notifications or tripping any counters
I guess this Kingo method serves the purpose...so far until something better turns up.
This is purely for those who are on STOCK Rom & want to root their Phones and are afraid of tripping their Knox Counter etc.
Follow this post for further instructions on rooting via Kingo & Wanam & Xpose (for making Device Status from Custom/Modified to Official)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2509244
Major.
PS. Device status showing Custom/Modified will not allow you to update your phone via OTA.
If you want to Make it official as I mentioned u can use Wanam & Xpose
OR
Flash the original Stock ROM via ODIN (You will lose the ROOT though)

PROOF!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong but since we have root on a non modified Knox status phone, we can pull the bootloader and system info, then try to break the fuse and compare it to the untouched status one? @Chainfire

Could be possible...
As after rooting by this method I personally feel this Knox thing is more kind of software related rather than Hardware.
If Kingo can bypass this and root so can our senior Dev Team too can.
Although, I don't understand much of this mambo-jumbo in programming..am always ready to help.

Root de la Vega (doesnt trigger knox) possible to port N900/N9005

UPDATED POST:
Hello,
As @Dumbo53 has mentioned below posts, there is a root method by the developer @designgears and it seems that this root method does NOT trigger the knox flag.
Unfortunately, it is just for the AT&T Note 3 devices.
Maybe someone could port this root method for our international N900 and N9005 model devices?
Root de la Vega:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2474422
----------------------------------------------------
Hello there,
I wanted to share something from Chainfire's Auto-Root thread.
Chainfire has mentioned:
Using this root method sets current binary and system status to custom. Additionally, it will also trigger the KNOX warranty void status.
This device store the traditional flash counter. Nor is is possible with Triangle Away to reset the current binary status. You will need to flash a stock kernel and stock recovery to reset the binary status.
The KNOX warranty status change is permanent, and a service center may deny warranty based on this flag - even if the other flags are reset correctly. The KNOX flag being tripped may also prevent certain Samsung KNOX features from working (enterprise security features).
If this is something you care about, use a root method not based on custom kernels or recoveries, like a modified system partition. These are possible, but I don't personally make them, so look around!
Click to collapse
So my question is simple:
Is there any talented developer who can look at the system partition on the devices N900/9005 and somehow to look if he can modify it to root without triggering the knox counter. Iaw chainfire's post, it seems to be possible, but we need a talented developer to look for this
I would be really so happy, if it can be done this way...
No because if you do anything you alter the md5 checksum m8 and knox watch this

I was talking according to Chainfire, dude. He just showed us that there could "may be" a way to root without knox would recognise this.
I think may be knox watches only the bootloader and recovery situation (if it is custom or official).
Chainfire's root method includes to flash first insecure recovery and after root flashes back the official recovery. During this process knox recognise the shortly time with the insecure recovery and the counter goes to 0x1. But iaw Chainfire's post, i think if someone could root without touching the recovery or kernel, it could be possible not to trigger the knox during the root process.
I don't think we will have a way to bypass it. I think once you get root it will still trigger it.
Funny how this is something from an Android device and not an iDevice.
Guess Samsung got tired of fixing devices after someone oc the hell out of it!

There already is a root method that doesn't trigger the Knox flag by designgears, but as of now only for At&t Note 3 (Root de la Vega). It however only gives root, not a custom recovery. There are already people begging him to port it to other devices and he seems to be willing to do them one by one.

[Q] Root and KNOX

Hello,
I updated my Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 with KIES to XXUDMJ7 and right after that I rooted it before activating KNOX on my phone.
After that I wanted to start using KNOX so I clicked the app icon in order to activate it and filled the password to start, but then I got an alert meesage saying that my phone has been changed so KNOX can not be used.
I do want to use KNOX because it seems a nice to have feature to protect my sensetive data.
Can anyone PLEASE help me what can I do in order to enjoy a rooted device and KNOX together ?

Not what was asked... Knox is a program that separates Android into 2 sections, the insecure one that we use rooted and a secure version that stops all apps from doing ANYTHIG that could give out our data. Photo's taken while using the Knox security feature wil only be available in the Knox section.
No, you can't use Knox after rooting as you have now opened up the system to questionable apps unapproved by Samsung...
There is no way I have seen to spoof the system to allow use of Knox security app and have a rooted phone....

Hey, the part where Kingo says, it will root device by installing custom recovery, it also categorically mentions that your device warranty willl be voided. And everywhere I've read it says, that the knox is tripped whenever a custom recovery is installed.
Are you sure that on bml1, the knox does not get tripped when installing custom recovery from kingo, given that kingo itself claims voiding warranty?
Yes rooted it quite a few times. It flashes the recovery as keyboard or other system software.

You can also install xposed framework and use the cosmetic system normal mod. This will make it look "Official" in settings...
I don't know if this will allow OTA, most people just use ODIN to flash what they want - but you most definitely will loose root doing an OTA.

ROOT P605 4.3 BMJ9 and keep Knox 0x0 using Towelroot

Hi all
I have just rooted P605 4.3 BMJ9 with TOWELROOT by Geohot, Note is rooted and Knox is 0x0. Root problem solved. It was released today for S5. According to Geohot, it should work for several android phones. I have not tested it on 4.4.2 but it's likely to work. I will use Mobile Odin pro to update firmware to 4.4.2 and then flash bootloader separately just in case.
PS: I was on 4.4.2 NEE but downgraded to 4.3 NEE and then back to my region BMJ9 BTU.
Here is the xda thread:

The website is: Towelroot.com
Use SuperSU from:

Thanks a million Geohot!!!
Edit: Towelroot works on 4.4.2 NEE. Rooted and Knox 0x0.
I just rooted my SM-605V on Android 4.4.2 using this method and it works great.
WORKS , just rooted my P605 , installed Xposed cause that all i want from root
Knox 0x0
Thanks
