Need the Phone Info - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Well guys i need to enter in Phone Information, error with Apps and from dialer cant enter in "4636" code.

It's far from clear what you are asking - your question is vague and might be talking about a number of things. Try phrasing it differently or at least elaborate more and someone should be able to help you.
Dialer codes are not intended for end users and only work on certain models and firmware versions. A lot of dialer codes will work if entered from a terminal window rather than the keypad. Or look for a Play store app instead e.g. this or this.

- If you mean you want to get important info about your device, try Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app.
- If you mean about secret codes *#*#4636#*#*, install Shortcut Master app. You can launch this code by one of the following ways:
a) Open menu 'Secret Code Explorer', scroll down to 4636 and tap to launch it. Here you can find many secret codes available for your device, e.g. *#0*#, *#12580*369#, *#1234#, etc...
b) OR open menu Search, enter the 'testingsetting' to search. Finally tap on the search result to launch. You can also create a shortcut for easy access later.

The only app that works is Shortcut Master, [email protected]
The others apps says that my S5 don't have API for this.

Mortscript for iphone theme?

Hi, I had installed an "iphone" theme and had read that I can write a mortscript so that it would dial a specific #, but do not have all the info (it was 3am).
The website's currently down, so I can't ask questions there atm. Can someone help me?
I wanted to use page2 as a "picture contact phone dial" and wonder if this is correct:
1. Have a .bmp file and name it "Joe"
2. Write a mortscript and name it Joe.
a. Is it: Run("Program Files\VJDialer.exe 123456
b. the 123456 would be the phone #, right?
c. do I need the area code too, if it's within the same zone?
3. Assign the "Joe" icon to one of the icons on page2.
4. The path for that icon would be \program files\mortscript\joe.exe
Would clicking on the "joe" icon call up the phone & dial Joe's #?
I got it to work early this morning as a test, but when I went to delete that path and put in some else's #, it no longer works. I can assign the button to that file (exe) but it doesn't do anything. I am wondering if my mortscript is incorrect? Did I miss something crucial?
Thanks
MortScript Dialing
I use Vijay555.com's VJDailer and a 2 line .mscr Script:
Number="##########"
Run("\Program Files\vijay555\VJDialer.exe",&Number)
--Of Course Replace the ### with the number you want
Using cprog.exe does work, but it will prompt to check the number which is kinda annoying. To use cprog.exe It would look like this:
Number="########## "
param="-n -url tel:" & &last
Run("cprog.exe",&param)
Good Luck.
Did you ever get this to work. I have set up the iphone config to execute the mort script, but nothing happens.
When I click directly on the mort script from explorer, it makes the call.
I'm using Grumpy's latest iphone screen program.
Thanks.
I did some more searching and am just usingthe cprog 2 button method for now. I'll check back in on this later.

Auto PIN code entry

Not all sim card allows the user to configure startup without entering pin code. Mine doesn't so I've searched for some small utility run at system startup which would enter the pin code automatically.
There's an option like that in one backup program so it's possible. If the program exists please direct me to it.
If it does not exist maybe someone can write simple command line app as an exercise?
I know PhoneAlarm from PocketMax can do this for you. It is an advanced option in (PhoneAlarm configuration -> Last tab About -> click on little Configuration image link -> search through the text file for PIN/SIM)
PhoneAlarm is no freeware, but it's the only one I know of that could do it. so you could try and see...
And it has so much other very nice and unique features, that it's worth it's money
I don't know what I'm doing wrong but auto pin entry in PhoneAlarm doesn't work for me (Wizard with NBD 9.2).
didn't try it myself, i prefer a pin request.
but you could try to post your problem on the pockemax forum, they are very fast in support.
you could try writing a simple script in Mortscript. AFAIK everybody who seriously tries and reads the mortscript description can do it. It's very much like editing config.sys or autoexec.bat for DOS computers.
I could do so if a knew the registry key with that value: the two PIN codes. But I've been looking for them without results. I use scripts to find operator name, but nothing about PIN codes. Any suggestion?
Mortscript can simulate a sequence of key presses and stylus clicks, use that just the way you type in your PIN manually.
I've tried to send my pin code with CR to the "Phone" (that's the name on the title bar when the pin kaypad is visible) application but it tries to dial that number.
Anyone succeed?
Asking software developers
I know at least two applications that have this option: SBSH PhoneWeaver 1.2 and SPB Backup. Maybe if somebody knows something about the "internals" of this aplicattions can develop a similar aplicattion to do this...
Hi,
I had the same issue and i also couldn't find any dedicated tool or app to solve that. So i decided to write a simple program that will dial a PIN into that PIN entry dialog for me.
But shortly i found HTC's app Windows\CMPin.exe on my Diamond2's Natoha Rom which solves the problem in a correct way. It comes with HTC's Phone dialer. It works fine!
Anyway if you don't have the CMPin.exe on your device or you couldn't find its cab then you still can use my SIM PIN Unlocker.
Here the tool SIM PIN Unlocker!
To use it you only need to install it and set the registry value HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SIM_PIN_Unlocker\PIN from 0000 (this is disabled state) to your pin entry (6902 for example), and here we go
It runs on startup and once it dialed the PIN into PIN entry dialog and sends "enter" key it closes. It will dial the PIN only once, in case the PIN was wrong you will still have 2 more attempts to enter the right PIN, and sure change the registry value to a correct one.
The tool will exit after a minute if it couldn't manage to find the PIN entry window.
I have tested in on mt Diamond2 and HTC Prophet (i-mate JamIn), on both works fine.

Multilanguage smart dialing

Multilanguage smart dialing For all of you that have smart dialing on their device, you can now add support to more languages then English.
As you know SmartDialing looks for a name in English or a sequence of digits (phone number).
A friend of mine developed an app to enable support for any language in the SmartDial mechanism, there is no need for any 3rd party apps or a unique dialer.
Due to the fact that SmartDial also looks for sequence of digits he developed a program (that run on the outlook installed on your Home PC),
the programs converts unique language fonts to numbers(lets call it "codes").
these codes will be saved in the specific contact's "radio" field and in the "home 2" field (this will allow you to search by first name or by family name).
on the IPAQ 600 you can have use a sticker on the hardware keys that will represent the fonts searched by each digit,
for phones that don’t have hardware keyboard you can crate a dialer skin that will show both english and your language fonts.
another simple solution is to memorize the location of your language's fonts per digit.
The application was built with other in mind, it has an XML file for layout so other non English users can use it and edit the XML to use their fonts.
please read the attached instruction before you start using it
To give you a sense of the app and what it dose I will give an example
if you have a name that looks like this
first name :" ΩΨΨ"
family name "ΡΠβН"
let's say that digit "1" on the dialer=(ΩΡΠ) and that digit "2" on your dialer=(βΨН)
the codes that will be crated for these names will be *122 in radio field of this contact and *1122 in home 2 field of this contact
To separate between codes and real phone numbers the developer added "*" at the beginning of any code. You don't need to add * before any search, the SmartDialing mechanism is smart enough to ignore the "*" and lokk directly for code.
To put things in short,
1. Backup your contacts
2. Download the app
3. Read instruction for installation and then edit the XML file to your fonts
(you will see in the XML file that 3=(אבג) witch also stands for "D" "E" "F" . now, replace the אבג with you own fonts for every single digit)
4. Convert all the names to codes using this app.
5. Sync your device
p.s.
when you search for a name in you dialer, the name will show like this:
"name of your contact" and "code the app created",
tap on the name then tap on the real phone number you want to dial (so you wont dial the code)
The conversion can be done sevral times on the same database, for instance if you add more contacts or change an name.
To use this on any phone(fast or slow) you must have SmartDialing installed and your own language's fonts installed on the "device\windows\fonts" directory.
I hope it helps anyone,
enjoy SmartDialing for english and your own language for free

[Q] Keypad entry for numeric field.

Hy,
As for my first app, I am trying to make a simple converter like app. The app isn't sophisticated, just need to enter a quantity in mass, a density and compute the resulting quantity in volume.
The main issue is to get a confortable UI, for touchscreen and soft keyboard devices.
As the entry only require numeric, I'd rather have a numeric keypad poping up rather than the complete alaphnumerical keyboard.
As for an example, I use 'currency converter' witch pop up exactly the good keypad for it's amount to convert.
So far I haven't found any documentation how to manage this behaviour.
I'd really appreciate any advise, link to a doc page or solution.
One thing to look at is:
http://developer.android.com/reference/android/text/InputType.html
In Eclipse:
-Open your layout xml file.
-Click on your EditText field and then go to properties.
-In the properties there is an 'Inputtype' field. If you click on the '...' button it will show you many options. This is where you define the field as 'number' or 'phone' and it will show the number keypad by default when you click on your field when using the app.
Let me know how it goes and if you have any other questions.

Fascinate Diag Mode

Hi does anyone here know how to get into diagnostics mode with the Fascinate?
I've tried searching everywhere and using the codes for the Epic and other Galaxy S phones but it doesn't work.
If anyone out here knows it, let me know thanks!

I know this is accessible by way of creating shortcuts directly to the various actions but I thought I would share this for anyone interested.
To access the hidden menus from the dialer:
• Open the dialer and enter *#83786633 then press the Home key
• Open the dialer again (clear previously entry if it is still present) enter *#22745927
• Enter the SPC 000000 then enable Hidden Menu
Now you can enter Service Mode by entering **772

That is the manual programming screen for the phone.
It's used for programming the handset in the event that OTA programming is not available.
The usual diagnostic mode dialing code on Androids is *#*#4636#*#*.
That dialing pattern works on my Droid 1 and HTC Incredible.
This changed with the Fascinate (maybe Samsungs in general- I haven't checked).
Someone needs to find the dialing form (eg *#*#<code>#*#*) that the secret codes are in.
I'm sure it's somewhere in the phone. I just don't know where to look.
I have a separate thread created asking for help find it.
The thread is called ' Sidetone - Need android_secret_code to access menu'
The diag. code for the Fascinate is *#0*#
you can check **33284
i usually use **USBUI (**87284) and it works i nut phone in modem then qpst find the phone and i do what i need to off that screen !
Menu > Settings > Wireless & Networks
Enable Dial up Networking (Note: Be sure to disable this after flash has been performed)
Next..
Menu > Settings > Applications > Development
Enable USB Debugging
-------------------------------------------
If Dial-up Networking is not showing perform the following. Dial **33284 followed by SPC (000000 or 468346 ) then scroll to Port Map and select HFK,DIAG. Once this is complete, you should now have Dial-up Networking showing up under Wireless and Network.
Bypass Activation:
Press "Emergency Call"
Dial *#83786633 then press send
After you press "send" press the "home" key and you should now be passed activation
-------------------------------------------
Or (**87284)

+1, I was going to say this as well. Did some googling the other day and found this. Change USB from pda to modem.
I did this and was able to access phone in QPST to fix.
