im about to get 16gb vodafone version from a friend of mine who bought it in Netherlands. im just curious...are there any differences on hardware/software? i mean:
1. some vodafone mark on the phone
2. some mark on boot
3. or some programs that are preinstalled/modified
4.are there problems with root and rom flashing?
or its just like normal 8gb version? dude told me that its locked version but unlock code is in some phone file or something(?!)
I've got a 16GB galaxy s from vodafone (UK).
No branding on the phone anywhere - no logo or anything on boot either.
Haven't rooted or flashed rom yet so don't know, but it will enter recovery mode, etc.
Hope that helps

The 16gb's were limited edition from Vodafone. They are completely unbranded, and the ones WITHOUT the voda sticker on the box are SIM unlocked too.
That's true for all the UK models, I assume the Dutch ones will be the same.
The 8gb are all SIM locked and branded to hell too.

You can find a FREE tool (Unlock for the Galaxy S) in the Android Market to get the unlock codes, or search in the forums for one of these tools
I have the 8gb GT-I9000 which I got from 02, it was the phone only, no sim, for £329, and it's completely unbranded, it has an O2 wallpaper.
I Don't know if it's unlocked as I want to get used to it before I try to change anything
I got a 8gb i9000 from Vodafone here in the UK too. No branding or vodafone marks or anything. It's also unlocked too.

Hi, I bought a dutch vodafone Galaxy S (16Gb) secondhand. But i suspect that the previous owner flashed it since it's rooted and runs JM2.
Can you let me know which is the stock rom for the dutch vodafone SGS's?
I also have a SGS 16 gb from vodafone-NL. It comes with JM2 out of the box. And imho root it is a must ;D.
Btw, 3 button recovery mode is disabled. Anyone else from Holland with 3 button disabled?

Mine is also running jm2. But I can't see any paid apps in my market.is that normal? I thought it might be caused by unofficial firmware.
I have the dutch vodafone 16gb sgs. Completely unbranded, no simlock.
It has jm2 update 1out of the box and 3 button enabled.
I only rooted it and installed oclf and rommanager.
Realy fast and no lagg at all!

Mine came from Voda UK as a warranty replacement for a WinMo. No branding, unlocked with only a small Voda logo on the r/h side of the box.
Came with the JF3 firmware but now booted n rooted on JPC 2.2 and I love it (well almost).
Just wondering has anyone got a dump of the UK vodafone firmware, I forgot to dump mine when I flashed it via Odin.
Thanks in advance

Mine is dutch and also had 3br disabled. Just to recap to my earlier question. Is there a reason that my marketonly shows free apps? Apparently I'm running official jm2, and its rooted. None of the market fixes work. I tried fix from sgs tools app and eris market fix. But still only free apps are available.

Maick, I got this too.
Only got it last wednesday, and have tried entering Recovery / Download modes multiple times already.
With the deviced powered on, powered off, different sequences of the buttons involved, on USB, off USB, with Kies active or inactive.
It just doesn't respond to any of those button combos.
It just gives me the standard shutdown menu when the phone is on, when the phone is off it just boots and when I keep pressing the power button it's going into the boot logo loop, rebooting the phone on end, until I stop pressing the power button.
Yay. Now I fear for rooting and especially flashing the device, since I might brick it when the flashing goes wrong.
Hi there!
When I rooted mine I got to recovery mode using the android SDK method and as far as I know everyone should be able to get to recovery mode via the android sdk.
Later today I will attempt to flash the 3br patch (you can find more about the patch on the sgs android development forum here in xda) and cross my fingers to not brick it. If I brick it I will bring it back to vodafone. ;P
If you want to attempt to get to recovery mode using the android sdk, search a but on youtube and you will find out exactly what to do.
Hope this info can help you or anyone else in the same situation. ;D

I just did Richthofen's patch, and it works like a charm. 3BR functions like it should and we're safe again from faulty flashes. Hooraay.
Be sure that when you use the simple patch, that you are at least running JM1, otherwise you'll end up bricked.
Just flashed the fix a few minutes ago and now I am the proud owner of a 3BR enable SGS I9000

I think this image will be burn on "N9100" whole model.
For example, Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 any other firmware(ex:BTU) can be flash to GT-I9505 (ex:H3G) device.
But I can't found who already success story this burn on China open N9100 model in XDA forums.
If you already success burn on this N9100 hongkong firmware to N9100 China Open device(Not included Google service), Please let me know it wass successful working or not.
Saw this on Sammobile too but haven't tried it yet.
Seems like users on 52samsung are using it:

Couple of reports about the dialer not working properly (replace with another like Baidu or Touchpal), and one report of no signal in the responses.
Think I'd still root again anyway for TiBu and Nandroids via CWM.

Tried this today and so far nothing bad happened. Flashed fine on my mainland-bought n9100 and does include all the Google apps.
Flipboard briefing is now in English, as is recovery and bootloader mode FWIW.
EDIT: SpO2 also now in S Health if that matters proving and sensor aspects are only limited in software (only HR, UV, and Stress are present in the mainland ROM).

So You write whole N9100ZHU1ANK2_N9100ZZH1ANK2_TGY.tar.md5 burn to your phone (include bootloader,modem,...ETC) through odin?
And Phone is working good. Right? Also Knox warranty remain 0x0 ?
I'm too lazy. So I decided to take a risk by replacing my China firmware (Rooted with CWP & Gapps) with N9100ZZH1ANK2 via Odin.
Surprisingly, it works like normal except the dial pad (can't sort out the phone no. by name???....don't know how to fix it. But still it is ok as I can browse on the contact)
1. The whole sets of google services are in there.
2. The briefing is in English version (like some said)
3. Rooted is gone.
3. OTA is working normal now.
4. SuperSU is stopped working...it is fine for me as I usually don't us it.
5. Too bad: Knox is 0x1 now (But it is fine with me as I'm not really care about it)

Regarding 5.: If you were already rooted (as suggested in 3.) then Knox would have already been tripped. Flashing this with Knox intact it shouldn't trip Knox as long as it's an unmodified ROM.
Regardless, I've rooted long ago and had no issues on ANK2 and flashed the updated ANL1 the other day, too.
Much prefer the status bar icons in this ROM (far less wasted space around dual SIM and data icons).
I do note that there's one less 'Application manager' at the bottom of the settings in the HK ROM (3 vs 4 in mainland ROM) and there appears no option to 'Disable on startup' when managing apps (moved to somewhere else?), although you can still disable an app's notifications. However, I use Greenify to auto hibernate apps which I don't often use yet try to run at startup and remain in the background.

Thank you, sir. Finally your suggested link is worked. And now I am using ANL1. Don't feel any differences.
By the way, it is weird that the youtube kept active even if I haven't used it. (Tried to restart the phone, then after finishing the restart for 5 seconds, the youtube is active automatically again.)
I just realize after updating the firmware to HK version, the call recording in dial key is gone. Anybody knows how to get it back??
can somebody tell me if it supports german language?

It should be easy, just download the ROM then flash with Odin, but take note that Knox will be triggered.

i have note 4 N9106W ... dont have playstore, i failed try to flash with this firmware
how to get google apps for my phone?
thanks
same question from me, i bought 9106w, can't install gogle store ...
Hi.. I have a mainland purchased SM-N9100. How do I flash this? via ODIN? I'll be moving to HK soon and I would love for this to work!
Also, I noticed a difference in file size.. on the Samsung site it says the file is 1.6GB, and in the China links you supplied, the size is only 1.48GB. Why the difference?
I've searched the forums and no one seems to have an exact FIX for my issue. So I have a Galaxy Note 3 N9005 32GB black version, the phone works well in 3G, never had an issue with it but now my network provider recently upgraded their plan and offers 4G internet but my phone doesn't want to connect. The provider offers 4G through BAND 1 2100MHz and Note 3 N9005 does have that band but it doesn't want to connect. It only works on 3G and when I enable Mobile Data it says H+! Not once has it connected to 4G!
I wanna mention that my friend has the exact same N9005 phone and his phone works on 4G all the time. Both of us have the same contract with the same network provider!
The only difference between our phones is the CSC region, we have different CSC. MY SIM card works in 4G on his Note 3 and his sim card doesn't work on 4G on my phone. (we exchanged the SIM cards for testing). So the problem is from my phone not from the SIM card. My phone is also original, its not a Chinese clone! Its confirmed with "Samsung Phone Info" app from Play Store.
Here's a few things I already did that some of you may be inclined to recommend to me:
1 - My APN is correctly set
2 - I am on official stock Android Lollipop 5.0 latest version and the phone is not rooted
3 - I already did a factory reset + wipe cache partition
4 - I saw others suggesting that people may not be in the range of a 4G tower! Not the case! Like I said, I switched the SIM cards with my friend on a public bench, out in the open, not even behind walls. Of course and his phone connects to 4G with his SIM card and also with MY SIM card while my phone doesn't connect to 4G with neither of these SIM cards.
5 - In Mobile Networks > Network Mode, my phone is of course already set on 4G/3G/2G (auto connect) and by the way, my friend's Note 3 says LTE/WCDMA/GSM (auto connect) instead of 4G/3G/2G with the same language set on both phones. Why?? I know its the same thing and I know 4G stands for LTE and 3G for WCDMA but why does it appear differently on these phones?
6 - I already went to Service Mode via *#0011# and manually selected BAND 1 LTE, it says "no service" or "emergency calls only" if I do that so I switched back to "Automatic"
So what the heck is going on? This phone is giving me headaches! I'm close to smashing my phone! After this I sweared to my self this is the last Samsung phone I ever buy. Probably I will be switching to Asus or Lenovo in the future. Or any other phone that does NOT have this CSC BS! This CSC thing is a complete rip-off!
Im thinking that the problem could be my CSC perhaps?? My friend's Note 3 N9005 has a COA CSC (Cosmote Romania) and I have a XEF CSC (Unbranded France). Both phones are factory unlocked and work in all networks. They are not branded by any phone maker! His COA CSC is unbranded. Yes it belongs to a phone retailer but that retailer doesn't brand their phones, no bloatware, no SIM lock. If you buy a phone from Cosmote (with COA CSC) it works in all networks, unlike Vodafone or Orange who lock their phones and brand them.
What should I do? Should I attempt to change my CSC? If so, how? My phone warranty has expired a long time ago, so I shouldn't care that much about triggering Knox though not triggering it would be preferred.
Which path should I pursue? Should I simply use ODIN and flash a STOCK COA CSC (Cosmote Romania) or STOCK ROM CSC (Unbranded Romania) from SamMobile.com with the latest version of Lollipop? Would this trigger Knox? Will it affect my all networks unlocked status? I mean, I won't have to unlock it after that, right???
OR should I ROOT my phone, change CSC, then UNROOT? If so do you know of any method to root Lollipop 5.0 without triggering Knox?
What do you guys think? Whats the problem with my phone? Why doesn't it work on 4G? Because of CSC? Or is it something else?
Thanks!

What do you mean? Can you be more specific? I already told you my model number, its N9005!! Do you want a screenshot?
Dear OP, have you tried the other Samsung secret code? *#2263# then program it to accept LTE only.
That's the only foolproof way to get the Note to connect to LTE. In my country I only get 2-3 of the 5 LTE bars, so the Note wouldn't automatically connect to LTE or immediately stoop down to 3G through the settings. That specific secret code and setting is LITERALLY THE ONLY WAY TO GET MY NOTE 3 TO CONNECT TO LTE IN MY EXPERIENCE.
If that still doesn't get your phone to run LTE, either your carrier is whack or your phone is, and no amount of Cyanogenmod can fix it because your hardware modem inside the phone might be whack and you can't really do anything if that's the case...

I have already explained that there is nothing wrong with my carrier because I switched my SIM card with my friend's phone who has exactly the same N9005 model and it perfectly works on 4G on his phone. The only difference I could find in our phones is the CSC.
As for the other suggestion you sent me, I already said that I've been to SERVICE MODE. The code you've given me does nothing on my phone but as I can see from your screenshots, it gets you to SERVICE MODE. I've already been there through *#0011# switched to LTE/GSM only or LTE/WCMA only and I've explained that it still doesn't do anything.
Can someone please answer me this? Would it help if I change the CSC? Could this be the problem I'm having???

Perhaps the code you gave me only works on older version of Android such as KitKat or whatever you have on Note 2... anyway Im using Samsung Phone Info app from Play Store and my CSC is XEF and under Available CSC Codes there is a bunch of CSC codes. Here I've made a sccreenshot:
From as far as I know there are only 2 ways to change the CSC: root or flash a different stock ROM
Yes, the note 2 has kit kat but the s4 is running stock lollipop.

Well unfortunately the code doesn't work on my phone. Anyway if you know for a fact, could you tell me this? Is it safe to reflash another STOCK rom from sammobile? Will it affect my phone in any way?
Thanks
Yes, it is safe to flash stock ROMs from sammobile.com.
I just flashed a local stock ROM and guess what, when I go to Phone Info app it still shows the same CSC! I still have XEF CSC, how can this be? Why hasn't the CSC change?
After flashing the stock rom, did you try the csc code I mentioned? Same thing happens when I flash a Rogers carrier rom over a Telus carrier rom. Once I select telus as the carrier from the csc menu, the Rogers app will disappear and the Telus app appears.
Ok after further researching I found a lot of interesting stuff so I'm gonna write it all down for other people who may need it in the future.
1 - If you have a multi-CSC phone and you flash a different CSC but which is in your "Available CSC" list but which you cannot choose or change without root, your CSC will NOT change. For example: I have flashed ROM CSC (Open Romania) on my XEF CSC (Open France) and guess what after the flash was successful and all, the CSC didn't change! It was still on XEF because ROM was in my "available list".
2 - If you try to flash a different CSC which is NOT in your list, then Odin will FAIL and softly brick your phone. For example: I got my phone bricked, trying to flash 2 CSCs which are not in my "available list": COA (Cosmote Romania) and DBT (Open Germany). In order to fix this issue all you have to do is to reflash YOUR OWN CSC, in my case it was XEF. Or you can even flash one of those CSC which are "available" or compatible so to say, such as "ROM" for example.
This is the firmware I currently have on my phone:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/61565/N9005XXUGBOK6_N9005OXXGBOJ2_XEF/
These are the two firmwares I tried to flash on my phone, hoping to replace XEF with:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/63441/N9005XXUGBOK6_N9005COAGBOK1_COA/
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/61464/N9005XXUGBOK6_N9005DBTGBOI1_DBT/
BOTH FAILED in Odin!
There are ONLY 2 ways to change the CSC on newer Samsung phones. Most guides online are based on KitKat 4.4 or older guides but for 5.0 Lollipop or even NEWER there are ONLY 2 ways to change your CSC:
1 - Root your phone and change the CSC. There are plenty of guides on how to do that online.
2 - You can avoid rooting your phone and use Odin instead, BUT accompanied by your stock firmware, you will also have to find and use a PIT file because Samsung as of 5.0 Lollipop uses different partitions for all the different regions. HOWEVER messing with PIT files is super risky and it can permanently brick your phone so its just better to root your phone instead! Dont waste your time trying to flash different regions/csc which is not in your available csc list, it won't work!
What can I say? Samsung is trying hard to block their users from changing their CSC... Why? They prefer their users buy new phones. Its pure greed yes but its what it is... For me, this was the last Samsung phone I ever buy. Im truly disappointed.
Hey people,
I have recently bought a G950F in a pre-sale from Vivo, which is the carrier I use here in Brazil.
I hate those carrier extras (apps, splash screen and stuff). Every time I buy a carrier branded phone I flash it to get rid of that stuff. That's what I wanna do with my new S8.
I went to Sammobile site and could not find a specific ZTO ROM. So I took notice about multi-CSC ROMs. I was then searching for a multi-CSC ROM which fits my phone, and I found this one: https://samsung-firmware.org/download/Galaxy S8/60y7/UFU/G950FXXU1AQCC/G950FOWT1AQCC/
This is for Uruguay (UFU), but also is exactly the same ROM I have in my S8, and included ZTO. Since it's for a different country/region, I flashed it (using CSC file, not home_CSC), hoping I was debranding. But I was not, my S8 is still branded.
How do I unbrand it? I have read that I must flash a OXM CSC ROM (it also includes ZTO) to change the original CSC of my phone, since it may not have changed because it was the same that it already had. Is that right?
I will try now an Argentina ROM (https://samsung-firmware.org/download/Galaxy S8/98v5/ARO/G950FXXU1AQDG/G950FOXM1AQDG/) which is OXM CSC.
Samsung was pretty strict about what carriers were allowed to install this time, at least in the US. Try to see if you can just uninstall the carrier specific apps, on my phone nothing was in the system partition so they could all just be removed.

Not here in Brazil. I can uninstall some, but not all carrier apps.
What bothers me is the awful splash screen. I can't remove that.
When I had a Galaxy S5 with a 3uk or ee splash screen if I remember correctly there was a oem folder or something similar which got loaded everytime irrespective of what rom you flashed, maybe that's the case with branded s8's?

I don't think so. I had my S7 flashed to debrand it, and that did not happen.
Yesterday I flashed my S8 with that argentinian ROM I have mentioned (https://samsung-firmware.org/downloa...G950FOXM1AQDG/). It looks ok now, without carrier splash screen and bloatware.
But sometimes I get a notification from AutoPreconfig, asking me to use new apps and configurations from my new service provider. If I open the notification, it says that to use apps and configurations from my new provider, I need to restore my phone, all my user data shall be lost, etc. I can press "ok" and nothing happens.
Why does that happen?

Hey people,
I have recently bought a G950F in a pre-sale from Vivo, which is the carrier I use here in Brazil.

What i did was this:
1. get you phones imei:
go to dialer > dial *#06#
take a note of your imei without the /01 at the end.
2. go to phone dialer > dial *#272*(your phones imei)#
3. choose which csc you need and install it.
your phone will reinstall firmware with the new csc region you choose.
done.
Just done this to my S8 SM-G950F and switched from GLB(carrier) to XTC(unbranded) csc.
hope this helps.

If you want to disable apps you can purchase Samsung Package Disabler works well to disable apps you don't want.
Sent from my SM-G950U using XDA-Developers Legacy app
its so sad, i cant find an unbrand tutorial to make my s8 fully Samsungish without carrier stuff
Afternoon all,
I was made aware by a friend that Samsung Pay now works in the UK, the problem I have is that
1) I cannot see the app in the market (Gplay or Galaxy)
2) After sideloading I get the following error when I open the app.
:Invalid SIM Card
Failed to read your phone number from your SIM card. Check your SIM and try again.
A little bit lost on where to go from here.
Phone Spec:
SM-G935F ZKAXEU
AP G935FXXU1DQD7
CSC G935FXEUDQD1 [XEU]
Kernel : 3.18.14-11104523
Android 7.0 Build NRD90M
Not rooted
Knox 0x0 (Untripped)
Any help would be appreciated!
Which ROM do you have installed?
I have SuperMan ROM, and Samsung Pay is working fine, in other roms I had the same problem that you.
With SuperManRom, I installed, changed the CSC to my country, and turn on the "Magisk hide" and that's all, working.
I do not readed before, you rom is stock not root.
Well, the other question is, do you tried to restart the application, delete memory cache and data?

I think it's because your on XEU Firmware.
I'm in UK and on BTU I'm rooted but can install Sam pay from play store fine
(Also no SIM number in settings)
BTU = direct from Samsung ( I purchased from giffgaff)
XEU or any other UK related csc = not direct from Samsung
So things might arrive slower for you
( Ignore that it says I have s8 I'm on an s8 port )
I am on BTU ... no root ... and I have the "no SIM number" .... problem

Play store says it's incompatible with my device
Re-Flash
my guess is the firmware!
download the lastest BTU (UK-unbranded)
flash it once then:
1 - set up the phone and factory reset the device fron settings app.
2 - power it off on the new setup screen.
3. hold down the power + home + volumeUp
4. check which CSC the phone have.
5. if it's BTU = setup the phones for usage.
if it's not BTU, then clear chach and flash BTU from beginning. and try again.
when all this annoying thing is done
after seting up the device. download Spay from playstore or apkmirror.com
that's what i would try.
if you use odin then the phone should not be rooted
(just have to say, everything is on your own risk)

As I said before ... I do not think this is the issue
It could be the SIM card age ....
I am on BTU ... original ... UK
No rooted
Stock ROM
I cannot read my phone number from SIM with any app and I cannot use Samsung Pay ......
I have ordered a replacement SIM which will be here in a few days so I will update, if not I will go down the reflash route.
Will let you know how it goes!
